Intro
Hello and thank you for looking into my guide. I hope you find this useful for your trip and eventual return home to sell your spoils. In this guide I plan to outline what items sell for (Empty Cans, Air Filters, Empty Bottles, ETC) so that you know what you can toss and what you can keep when you eventually need to come back home to start your journey again, maybe just a little bit richer the next time.
Food/Drink
These are the consumeables, the food and drink I've found so far and what they're worth in a full or empty state.

Notes
[1] Water will sell for 17 metal with 1L remaining
[2] I tried selling bottles of soda that still had the full texture and the trader wouldn't buy them, full or empty (probably a bug)
[3] Drinking a bottle of soda will give you 1 scrap on the road.

Soda when full cannot be sold but when you drink it it both fills your thirst by however much and gives you a scrap, also if you sell a full battery and drink a soda you can afford 2 apple juices

Thanks, i did in fact know that, just forgot about it entirely, just that the guide was more about what the shops will pay you, and what is worth bringing back to town. instead of being like me and bringing 25 soda cans, empty bottles, and empty tin cans back, thinking they were worth something

note added none the less

I recently heard that drinking a bottle of soda will give you 1 scrap metal, possibly as a reference to bottlecaps being a currency in the Fallout games.

Might be worth mentioning, since this guide is all about getting the most scrap for your cargo.

I clicked "Return Home" and when i got of the bus, i found both my cars gone, no inventory (i had batteries, air filters and oil in the garage, and my second car waiting for a motor)

@COXTROT No, you don't drive back, you select the "Return Home" option from the pause menu, just under the Resume option. You have to double click it just to confirm, as they set it up to avoid the chance of a misclick. You'll then get taken back in a bus, and your truck with all it's cargo will be back in it's parking space

Found out the hard way, but make sure you take any music tapes you have out of the player and put it in the trunk too, or else they will be deleted when you do this.
