Starting a New Dedicated Server

- Install game through steam normally.
- To change default port number.

[1.] Right-Click the game in your steam library and to to properties.
[2.] Under Launch Options, add "-port=" followed by the desired port number. Eg. "-port=7777"
- To change GameServerQueryPort number.
[1.] Right-Click the game in your steam library and to to properties.
[2.] Go to Local Files sub-category, and click "Browse..." to open a windows explorer window showing your game's installation directory.
[3.] Go into FPSKit\Config\DefaultEngine.ini and find the line entry called GameServerQueryPort under the [OnlineSubsystemSteam] heading.
[4.] Change the number as desired.
- To change Dedicated Server hosting settings for game map and mode.
[1.] Right-Click the game in your steam library and to to properties.
[2.] Go to Local Files sub-category, and click "Browse..." to open a windows explorer window showing your game's installation directory.
[3.a] Go into FPSKit\Content\Files\ServerData.txt and change entries as desired. Options are as
follows...
[3.b] Maps: AI1, AI1_Snow, LastStand01, Map_Crater, TrainingMap
[3.c] Modes: Conquest, WaveDefence, AtomicRace, FreeBuild, Training
[4.a] Some maps and modes will only work in particular combinations. Eg. "Map:LastStand01,
Mode:WaveDefence"
will work, whereas "Map=AI1, Mode:WaveDefence" will not.
[4.b] If an incompatible combination is made, the default map mode will be selected.

Limitations
1. At the time being, dedicated servers do not support Anonymous start. This means that you'll need to launch the server from an secondary Steam account if you plan on connecting to your own server. There are methods that we use to run multiple steam clients on a single machine, but that's out of scope here. Chat to us on Discord[discord.gg] for further assistance if required.
2. The limitation mentioned above will hopefully not be a problem in the next patch or two, as new methods are being tested and discovered as we develop.
3. For the time being there's a hard character limit enforced in the engine that prevents long server names. If you overflow these settings the output log will tell you in yellow text. If this happens, there's a chance your server will not show up in the server list. This bug should be fixed in the next patch or two.
