I think it is actually an easter egg of l4d because it's the reverse of the known glitch that every experienced player knows. in l4d you can actually climb the ladder fast by doing it sideways: but the ladder in b4b is jealous of that and it actually sends you down in infinite speed

L4D: Climb ladders normally.
B4B: Ladders are a secret special infected that change your gravity to 90,000 when climbed.

I am such a noob and surprisingly never ran into the wrath of the mach 10 ladder.
