Let's talk about Permanent Objects
In the Community Level Editor, there are 3 objects that will exist in every level:

- The Start Point
- The Portal
- The Directional light

These are a little different from the rest of the objects, not only because you can't delete them, but it seems they weren't fully tested within the Editor.
Start Point
The Starting Point is indeed where the player will start your level, facing the direction of the attached coned arrow.

In theory, if you were to rotate the Starting Point clockwise or anti-clockwise to face a new desired direction, the player should start turned toward this new direction. However, after you have turned the Starting Point from its original orientation, saved and published your level, the Starting Point will default and your players will spawn facing the wrong way.

Thus keep this in mind when building your levels, rotating the Starting Point will have no effect once published, build your levels straight and true, unless you have a specific design choice in mind requiring the player to be facing a different way, or else you will come across comments saying that you need to rotate the spawn.
Portal
Portal is as Portal do, never tried to rotate it to an off angle, and don't suppose it would interest you. But if it is anything like the rest, it'll reset causing you distress.
Directional light
The “sky light” of Qbeh-1, shining from one direction it should allow you to create a sense of time and day within your level.

But once again... no. You only get one angle as this resets as well, not only the angle, but the X, Y, Z coordinates of the Directional light object too.

Try your best with light cubes because there isn't much else we can do unfortunately.
Conclusion
This is what I have observed, maybe there is a way around it, or a way to fix these issues. If you find or know of something, please let me know, this'll save many a headache.
