At every Downbeat/Upbeat ( This being the large line on the HUD above the decks ) you want to press on any effect from either the Menu on the top left for all disk's or go to an individual disk, Right click and effects. Every mouse press on Q with said upbeat/downbeat will raise the crowds metre, a massive advantage when attempting to 5 star all levels.

Yeah, It might not sound "the best" but it gets you your score.

A trickier way would be to drop a disk every downbeat, anything would do. If you have a bunch of rap vocals though, that's the best. If you can get the timing right, you can quickly change vocal tracks as they usually have a lot of pickups that overlap each other. Do it right and you can get double or even triple the crowd gains over the same amount if time as a single downbeat.
