Main goals

Your main focus should be on getting points and not how well your song sounds. Remember the fact that you are doing something on a downbeat means the crowd will like it no matter what.

Crowd and requests

Always try and combo crowd requests, and always keep the crowd attention meter as full as possible, the higher it is the more points you will get. Always go for perfects, goods do not seem to raise crowd attention or at least so little that it is not worth it.

Manager requests

Always focus on trying to do manager requests first. But remember if you fail a request you will lose crowd attention. Also, any time you are given an infinite amount of time to do a request you should not try and raise your crowd attention because nothing will happen.

5* ing stuff gets easier as you progress. You get more tools and your crate options get more diverse. So you can do stuff like mutes and solos on downbeats which saves you having to continually switch the music around and gets you significant crowd uplifts for not much effort.

kryptkeeper this is if you are achievement hunting. and I do not know about you but spamming tape stop sounds terrible, but is some of the funniest things in this game.

From what I've played and read about on the forums, this is the conclusion I've reached too.

The primary thing the crowd meter seems to care about is as many perfect downbrats as possible as fast as possible regardless to how great or poorly everything mixes.

Even knowing that though, five stars are REALLY difficult to achieve. =/
