I am NOT a fan of SU, or SU:F, I made this because I was bored and wanted to exercise my creative skills.

Note: this starts just before the part in "I Am My Monster" where Steven transforms.

Ok it starts here:


"I'm a monster" says Steven, kneeling on the ground.

Suddenly, Steven starts to feel sick, next thing he knows his breakfast comes back up and is on the floor in front of him as a strong sense of nausea hits him.

(Peridot is outside the house and hears whats going on, and decides to come in and see whats going on)

Steven tries to stand, but can't, his legs fail under him as he falls to the floor.

Connie runs over to him to check if hes ok, Stevens skin starts to turn pale, he says "C-Connie, I think somethings-" but passes out mid sentence.

Connie calls Steven an ambulance, while the gems check if hes still alive, Pearl checks if hes breathing and his hearts still heating, hes breathing and his heart is indeed working.

Within minutes, Connie's Mother arrives with an ambulance and comes in to see whats wrong, she enters the house and sees Steven passed out on the floor, pale, and unconscious.

Connie's mother asks them to help get Steven into the ambulance, Garnet replies "I've got this" and carefully picks Steven up and helps carry him to the ambulance, all while Peridot, Pearl, Amethyst and Connie all follow to make sure Steven is ok.

[scene change]

The scene changes to the hospital, where Steven is still unconscious and on a hospital bed, linked up to a device to monitor his heart beat and breathing, with the Crystal gems (Garnet, Pearl, Amethyst and Peridot) and Connie waiting in the hallway outside.

Pearl asks Garnet "what happened to him."

Garnet replies "I don't know Pearl, maybe its shock, illness or something to do with him being half gem."

Amethyst says to Pearl and Garnet "whatever it is, I just hope hes going to be ok."

Connie's mother comes out of the room and says to the gems "hes alive, but he seems to be in some kind of strange dream state we can't wake him from."

Garnet replies "Are you saying Steven is in a coma?"

Connie's mother replies "Not exactly, it seems to be more like a deep sleep, except hes able to dream at the same time, a thing only seen in REM sleep, which is not how the brain usually works"

Garnet replies "Is there anything that can be done?"

Connie's mother replies "I'm not sure, Steven's case is totally unique, I've never seen anything like it before."

Peridot says to Connie's mother "you said hes in a dream state right?

Connie's mother replies "yeah why?"

Peridot says "I've got an idea, me and Steven did a thing with a TV a short while back where I could see and tape his dreams, I think I could bring it in and set it up so we can see whats going on in his head."

Connie's mother replies "are you sure that's safe? it sounds rather invasive"

Peridot replies "no, its fine, he was able to somehow connect to it, so in theory if we link it up to your hospitals MRI machine, or maybe even wire it to his gem, we could see whats going on inside his head."

Connie's mother replies "that actually sounds like it might work, you go get the TV and we can set it up."

Peridot replies "Perfect" and runs off to go get the TV from their house, Garnet says to Peridot "you probably can't carry that all the way here on your own, I'll help." and decides to follow and assist her.

[time skip]

the scene jumps to Steven, laying unconscious on his hospital bed while Peridot is seen wiring some ECG electrodes to the TV set, while Connie, Pearl, Garnet and Amethyst watch.

Connie's mother says to Peridot "sorry the MRI was unavailable, but this should work right?"

Peridot replies "it should, in theory."

Peridot goes to connect the ECG electrodes and lifts Steven's hospital gown, only to see that his gem has turned a pale white.

Peridot says to the other gems "hey, why has Steven's gem faded to pale white?"

The other gems are confused at first, why did his gem change colour? it just didn't make any sense to them.

Peridot says to the other gems "ok, I'm connecting the electrodes now" and connects them to Steven's gem.

After about 2 silent seconds, the screen comes to life with static, Peridot runs over to the screen and starts trying to tune it in to Steven's gem.

After a brief moment of fiddling with the dials, she manages to get a clear image, showing them Steven's dream, hes in his own house, albeit the house is partly distorted and some parts are missing, sealed off or have changed.

[scene changes to whats going on in Steven's dream]

Steven looks around, he is in a distorted version of his own home.

Steven calls out "hello? anyone? is anyone here?" as he looks around

Steven explores the distorted house and discovers that the temple is sealed off with a wall of crime scene tape, the entire upper part of the house is missing and the windows seem to have been replaced with solid concrete walls.

Its just the main room, kitchen, sealed off temple and whatever is outside this warped version of his home as the sound of rain hits the walls outside.

"what happened, why is everything so weird, where is everyone?", Steven thinks to himself.

Steven then decides that, if he wants answers, he will need to find them himself, as clearly nobody is around to help.

Steven looks at the front door and decides that he needs to explore the outside to see just how much has changed.

Steven opens his front door and walks out, finding himself outside the house as normal, albeit with it raining heavily and the world being oddly colourless and the sky being a dark grey, Steven then looks around and notices that the large statue behind the house has changed greatly.

The statue is now made of concrete with some parts falling off, exposing the metal rebar inside the concrete in some areas.

Its form has also changed greatly, its body is thinner, showing the shape of its bones and ribs, its clothing is ragged and its head is a distorted tumor like mass with no discernible face.

Steven then notices that his house has the entire upper area missing, as if it was deleted from existence, along with random boards, bricks, nails and other small bits of the upper house randomly floating where it used to be.

Steven looks around for a means of exploring the area and notices the Dondai Supremo parked up near the house, Steven needing answers, gets into the car and decided to drive to Beach City to see if he can find out whats going on.

Steven arrives at Beach City shortly after leaving and notices that it has changed greatly, its expanded well beyond what he can see, its absolutely huge now, he also notices that the doughnut shop just by how he entered the city is now on top of a tall concrete pillar and the store is for some reason on fire, the pillar is also oddly taller than any building in the city, seemingly as a sort of strange land mark.

The city easily stretches for miles, most of it now being tall bland concrete apartment buildings, no colour, just roads, streets and concrete.

As Steven drives deeper into Beach City he notices that some of the buildings have no doors, some even have no windows and some of them are just huge blocks of concrete with no external features at all.

After about 2 minutes of driving, Stevens car starts to make an odd noise, before the engine just stops working out of seemingly nowhere.

Steven, confused by this, gets out and decides to inspect the engine.

Upon opening the hood, he sees that some of the wires seem to have come loose, causing the engine to stop completely.

Steven reconnects the wires and closes the hood, but hears a strange shuffling sound coming from somewhere behind him.

He turns and looks around, but sees nothing, being cautious he tries to activate his gem powers but they don't work.

In a slight panic, Steven tries again but to no avail, his powers seem to be absolutely gone.

That is when he hears it again, and from a nearby alleyway emerges a large creature, seemingly made from multiple human bodies, around 3, maybe 4, the creature walks on 6 human like legs in a manner similar to a spider, the feet having been twisted into claw like feet, like those of an insect and the upper body being an amalgam of human bodies in a shape oddly like a spiders body, the creatures head sat at the front of its body with 6 human eyes looking straight forward and 6 human like mouths that sat under the head.

The creature looks at Steven, hissing at him as it starts to rush at him.

This creature is easily 3-4 times bigger than him, and with his gem powers gone, all he can do is run.

Steven quickly turns and runs from the creature as it starts to give chase and lets out multiple agonising pained screams all at once with its multiple mouths, the bellowing choir of agony echoes in Stevens mind as he runs from the amalgamated creature.

[meanwhile in the real world the gems are seeing all of this and are horrified]

Steven runs and turns right, down the next street, the creature in pursuit, he runs as fast as he can, as it slowly catches up to him.

Steven calls out for help as it chases him, he looks around and sees a small alleyway, too thin for it to fit down, but just big enough for him.

Steven runs towards the alley and manages to get in and escape from the creature, just before it can catch him.

The creature crashes into the walls around the alleyway, unable to fit due to its size, it looks directly at Steven with a look of rage and slowly walks away, Steven sits down in the alley way, "what was that thing?" he asks himself.

Confused and terrified, Steven decides to try and calm down, he breaths slowly and deeply, giving himself a moment to focus.

Steven evaluates the situation and decides that if hes going to figure out whats going on here, he needs a map to coordinate, a weapon of some kind and a way to get around, Steven remembers the car and that its not too far away, but realises that the "thing" could still be outside.

Steven, realising that he needs a weapon, looks around in the alleyway and finds a rusty pipe, "this will have to do" he says to himself, he then proceeds to look outside the alleyway and sees that the "thing" has seemingly left.

Steven then decides that he needs to get in the car and drive back home before that "thing" comes back, maybe there is a map or some better stuff he can bring in case he gets attacked like that again.

Upon reaching the car, Steven finds a piece of a news paper article has landed on his cars windshield, seemingly the upper left fifth of the page.

Steven picks it up and gets in the car with the rusty pipe he found, puts the pipe on the passenger seat, closes the door and decides to look at the newspaper.

The piece of paper is partly wet but its still intact, the paper shows a part of the outside of his normal, non distorted house with the headline being mostly missing, except the words "local man" at the beginning.

Steven, feeling as if this was important, decides to keep the piece of news paper.

Steven then starts to drive home, using the burning doughnut shop on the concrete pillar as a frame of reference.

Upon arriving home, Steven notices that the door is open and a set of large slash marks are trailing along the walls outside.

Steven takes his pipe and enters the house, looks around and sees nobody, but notices that a section of the wall has opened up, revealing concrete underneath, with a cork board covering it partly, Steven then decides that it would be best to pin the newspaper piece to the cork board, so he won't accidentally lose it.

Steven then sits down on the couch and contemplates his next move but notices something new, a faded dirty pink box on the floor, near the sealed off temple entrance.

Steven approaches the box and cautiously opens it, revealing a map of the new, larger Beach City inside, Steven takes the map and looks at it and notices one marked location that is a small distance away simply called the "Slaughterhouse".

Steven then decides that the "Slaughterhouse" is where he needs to go next if he wants to figure out whats going on.

But then, Steven realises that hes going to need a plan, to take something with him in case he gets attacked again, realising this, Steven looks for a better means of defending himself.

Steven searches the house but finds nothing except some sand paper and a working flashlight.

Steven then decides to put the sand paper to some good use and manages to somewhat sharpen the end of the pipe, giving him an extra way to defend himself if he should need to.

The flashlight could also be of good use to him, who knows what awful surprises could be just ahead.

Steven with his sharpened pipe, map and flashlight, decides that its time to head to the "Slaughterhouse" to try and find whatever this map was guiding him to.

Steven leaves the house, gets in the car and starts driving to the "Slaughterhouse".

As Steven enters the city, he drives straight forward down the main empty road as it rains heavily, after about 20 minutes he reaches a left turn that leads straight to the "Slaughterhouse", Steven makes the turn and drives for around 5 minutes, reaching the "Slaughterhouse".

Steven looks at the "Slaughterhouse", its a large concrete and metal building with a path on the left leading around the back, 2 large garage doors at the front with a smaller door to the left of them, no windows, a parking area outside the front and the building itself being just 2 floors tall.

Steven parks his car in the parking area outside the front of the "Slaughterhouse" and gets out, Steven heads for the front door of the "Slaughterhouse" and tries to open it, but the door is locked.

Not wanting to make too much noise and attract any unwanted attention, Steven knows kicking the door in will probably not do him any good, so Steven decides to head down the path on the left side of the building.

Steven heads down the path and after a short walk, finds that the "Slaughterhouse" has a back door, the door is hanging on by only one of its hinges and has been violently broken by something, almost as if something tore its way through to get into or out of the building.

Steven carefully opens the door and looks inside,but its too dark to see properly so Steven pulls out the flashlight and turns it on, looking around, Steven looks and notices that the door at the front of the "Slaughterhouse" was boarded and barricaded from the inside.

Steven then decides to enter the "Slaughterhouse" and looks around, he first notices that that the machines around him don't look like they belong in a normal Slaughterhouse or abattoir.

In fact, the only "normal" part of this set of machinery was the conveyor belts and meat hooks at the start which all had fresh pig carcasses, the rest was highly modified and looked more like a factory like than an abattoir, with a strange "processing tunnel" that the carcasses would be taken into.

That is when Steven noticed that at the end of the machines meat hook line, just in front of the strange "processing tunnel" and ready to be "processed", was a large bloated human corpse on a meat hook, the skin was bruised and purple and the face appeared to have been smashed in by something.

Steven was shocked by this, why was this here? how did he only just notice it now?

Steven calmed down and though to himself "well its very dark, maybe I just mistook it for a pig carcass but only just noticed it now? maybe the purple make it blend in with the dark?"

[the gems, in the real world are all seeing this on the TV screen and are absolutely confused and disgusted by what their seeing]

But Steven had no time for this, he knew he had to find what he was looking.

Steven then continued to explore and found, after running around the entire machine, that there was a set of stairs at the other back corner of the "Slaughterhouse" that lead up to a managers office.

Steven went up the stairs and tried to open the door, but it was locked with a key card system, and the power was out.

Steven shined his flashlight into the office via a window that looked into the office and looked, seeing an open drawer, a file on the desk and another piece of news paper.

Steven though about smashing the window and climbing in, but it would probably be a bad idea, the glass had a metal mesh running through it like most glass in industrial sites usually does, so breaking it would be pointless.

Steven went back down and used his flashlight to try and find the key card, but found that it was plugged into the machines activation terminal and can't be removed without turning on the power.

So Steven started to look around, trying to find a circuit breaker of some kind.

after some looking he managed to find it, it has hidden under the stairs that he walked up to reach the office.

Steven pulled the circuit breaker and the lights flickered to life.

Now he could see the whole "Slaughterhouse" interior, the machine was filling 2/3 of the entire room, and the bloated purple bruised corpse was now fully visible, even the bloated bruised corpse on the line.

Steven ran over to the terminal and tried to remove the key card, only to find out that there were 2 buttons he needed to press and a key he needed to turn to release the card.

Steven pressed the 2 buttons, turned the key and the card was released from the terminal.

It was then that he heard the machinery start running, the belts and hooks started to move as it sprung to life.

Steven quickly made his way back up to the office and used the key card, the door unlocked and Steven went inside, closing the door behind him.

Steven looked around the office and saw the file, newspaper piece and partly open draw and decided to investigate.

Steven picked up the news paper piece and examined it, it was the lower left corner fifth of the page, it showed a part of the same picture of his house as the first part.

Knowing it was important, Steven put the piece of news paper in his pocket and looked at the files on the desk.

Steven opened the file and looked at it, it seemed to just be documents about the machinery here and notes about how it worked, they too felt important so he decided to keep them too.

Steven folded up the papers from the file and put them in his pocket and decided to look at the drawer next.

Steven opened the draw and was surprised when he found a 9mm pistol with no ammo, Steven didn't want to take the gun, but he knew it could be be useful if he found some ammo.

Steven picked up the gun, it felt somewhat weighty in his hand, he looked down the sights of the gun and aimed it to try and get an understanding of how to aim it if he ever needed it.

Steven felt somewhat uncomfortable holding it, it felt wrong to him, so Steven took the gun and put it in his other pocket so that it was at least there if he could find ammo for it.

But as he was about to turn around and leave, he heard a loud thud from outside the office that sounded like something huge walking around in the "Slaughterhouse" along with the sounds of strange baby like noises.

Steven looked outside the office window and out into the "Slaughterhouse" and saw that the large bruised corpse from before had been modified by the machine and brought back to life, the bashed in head having being fixed by the machine using parts from pig heads, and wrapped with a human face stretched over it, seemingly to keep its head together, the creature made strange angry baby like sounds as it roamed.

Steven saw how big this creature was, it was easily twice his size and was blocking the only exit, this meant that Steven had no choice but to either try and sneak past or confront it directly.

Steven, not wanting to fight a creature that was double his size and could probably rip him apart decided to try and sneak past it.

Steven carefully opened the office door and sneaked down the stairs all while making minimal noise to prevent drawing the big creatures attention.

Steven then crawled under the conveyor belts and managed to use the machinery as cover, hiding from the creature.

That was until Steven emerged from under the final conveyor belt and tried to reach the door, the thing unfortunately saw him emerge and charged at him, grabbing him in its grip and lifting him into the air.

the creature roared at Steven as it lifted him up, it then looked at him and opened its mouth to try and take a bite out of him.

Steven, quickly thinking, grabbed the creatures head and stabbed his pipe into the creatures right eye with all his strength before it could bite him.

The creature arched back in pain as the pipe was driven into its eye and started screaming, its screams sounded like a distorted scared infants.

It dropped Steven and tried to pull the pipe out of its head, Steven managed to stand up and run a short distance before falling over, Steven then turned himself over and saw the creature, blood poured out of the pipe in its eye socket as the creature wailed and shortly fell to its knees and within a few seconds, collapsed forward, the impact with the floor driving the pipe through its head, killing it.

Steven stood up and saw what happened, feeling sickened he knew he would need that pipe back, so he had no choice but to walk over to the creatures corpse and pull the pipe back out of its head.

Upon removing the pipe, Steven felt disgusted, he looked inside it and it was full of parts of the creatures head.

Revolted by this, he knocked the pipe gently against a wall and all of the head bits inside slid out onto the floor.

Feeling like he was about to be sick, Steven ran out the back door with the pipe he recovered.

Steven ran back to his car, got in and started driving back to the house.

upon arriving home, Steven went inside, pinned up the piece of news paper and the content of the file on the cork board and sat down.

He then remembered that the pipe was still covered in bits of brain and blood from that monster so he decided to let it sit outside as he didn't have anything to wipe it with and let the heavy rain wash off the blood and brains still stuck to it.

Steven went outside and put the pipe on the floor, letting the rain do its thing.

Steven then went back inside, sat down and took out his map, this time another area was circled and the previous one had been checked off, this new one was beyond the city by a few miles and was named "Coldwind Farm".

Steven knew where he had to go next but decided to rest for a short bit and let the rain do its thing and clean that pipe he would need.

[As Steven rests the scene changes back to the real world to show what the gems are doing].

The crystal gems gems are absolutely baffled by this, how did Steven not know he was dreaming?

At this point, Amethyst asks Connie's mother "Why is this happening to Steven?"

Connie's mother replies "I don't know, but it could be related to his current state of mind, Steven is clearly not very well mentally"

Pearl says to Connie's mother "then why didn't you tell us he was unwell?"

Connie's mother replies "I legally can't under patient confidentiality laws"

Pearl replies "aren't there any exceptions?"

Connie's mother replies "only if Steven gives consent could I legally do that. if I did it without his consent, I would lose my job as a doctor or potentially go to prison."

Pearl replies "I see. just please help us save Steven from... this"

Connie's mother replies "from what I can see on that screen you have linked to him, I think we just need to be here for Steven at the moment."

Pearl agrees with Connie's mother and just hopes that Steven is going to be ok.

[scene changes back to Steven's dream]

Steven sits on the couch and relaxes a bit, listening to the rain as it hits the walls outside.

For a short bit, all the terror and fear of this place fades away, its just Steven and the rain in that moment.

For a short bit, Steven feels truly relaxed, like all the monsters and terrifying places around him were just gone.

Steven lays there like this for about half an hour, enjoying the sound of the rain, until a thunder storm comes in and a crack of thunder snaps him out of it.

Steven sits up with a fright and looks around, only to realise that it was just thunder.

Having relaxed a bit, Steven realises that its probably time to head to "Coldwind Farm" and find what the map is leading him to.

Steven leaves the house and picks up his pipe, the heavy rain having cleaned off most of the blood and brains, except for a few small stains, Steven looks at the sharpened edge and notices that its become slightly chipped and damaged due to the fight he was in.

But the damage is barely noticeable and probably won't hinder its functions as a weapon all that much.

So Steven takes the pipe, gets in his car, and starts driving to "Coldwind Farm".

On the way there, as Steven is driving and about 2/3 the way, Steven sees something light pink in colour quickly cross the road in front of him in the distance, running fast and dragging something behind it, whatever it was, it was fast and crossed the whole wide road in less than 1.5 seconds.

Steven sees that the thing ran off into an alleyway but decides not to stop to investigate.

Who knows what that thing was or what it was dragging, but as Steven drives past where it ran, he notices scratch marks in the road, similar to the ones outside his house.

Steven continues to drive to "Coldwind Farm" without stopping, whatever that thing was, he wanted nothing to do with it.

Steven eventually arrives at "Coldwind Farm", parks up outside and looks around.

The farm is large area of land with a barn on the left side and a large corn field taking up 90% of the remaining space on the other side with a large, pale, thin corpse like scarecrow with 4 vertical slits running down its abdomen and head, its body wrapped in a bandage like material, seemingly holding it together and a deformed tumor like head, standing in the middle of the corn field with a long metal spear stabbed into its body.

The farm is surrounded by a barb wire fence with 2 gates, the closest one being directly in front of Steven and near the front left corner, just in front of the barn and has a tree growing right through it, the branches twisting into the gate, preventing it from being opened.

The other gate is behind the corn field and in the far back right corner, leading to a path that goes around the farm, back to the road and is only locked from inside by a large piece of wood being used to bar the doors shut.

Steven looks for a way in and notices that there is a decently sized opening torn in the barb wire fence, right in the middle of the area that the corn field takes up, but its curled inward, meaning that if he goes in, he can't climb out this way.

Steven looks around for an alternative way in but realises that there is none, the hole in the fence being his only option.

Steven braces himself and climbs through the gap in the fence, getting poked and scratched by the barbed wire, but after a short struggle, manages to get through with only scratches and a few small cuts.

After getting through the barbed wire, Steven finds himself directly in the corn field, Steven turns left to face the barn and carefully navigates the corn field, pushing the corn out if his way, sometimes breaking some of the more fragile ones by accident.

After about a minute, Steven hears a sound above him, the sound of crows cawing.

Steven looks up to see a group of strange blue crows circling him and cawing loudly, their bodies a dark blue while their wings are a bright cyan, flowing oddly like water instead of how bird wings usually move.

Steven quickly manages to find his way to the barn and runs over to it, wasting no time to find what the map guided him here for while the crows above him follow his every movement.

Steven opens the barn doors, gets inside and closes them behind him.

Steven looks around the inside of the barn, its lit up by a few oil lanterns and he notices several things.

The first being another newspaper piece on a small desk at the back of the barn.

The second being a gun cabinet with a double barrel shotgun and some ammunition next to the small desk.

The third being that there is a window inside the barn that looks directly out into the corn field.

The forth being that the walls are covered in the same scratch marks as the ones outside the house.

The fifth being a shovel with a blood stain on the blade leaned up against the wall with a straw hat sitting on top.

Steven walks over to the table and looks at the newspaper piece, its the bottom right corner of the page, about a fifth of a full page, just like the other pieces he found.

The piece shows more of his house but none of the headline, so Steven pockets the piece and continues to look at the 4 other things.

Steven walks over to the gun cabinet and opens it, it contains a single double barrel shotgun with a shoulder strap, 8 shotgun shells, 2 clips of 9mm ammo and a combat knife.

Steven, already having a gun, picks up the ammo and takes out his 9mm, trying to load the gun.

Steven fiddles with the gun a bit but manages to figure out how the ammo slides in and that a small button on the side releases the clip.

Steven puts the loaded 9mm in his pocket and looks at the double barrel shotgun.

Steven didn't want to touch it, he already had a gun, but having an extra weapon in this situation would be invaluable, so Steven decides to take the double barrel shotgun.

Steven, having seen how there used on TV, unlocks the barrel and loads the shotgun.

Steven looks at the combat knife and decides to take it with him too, another way to defend himself if things went badly with another monster attack.

Steven then realises that he can't carry all these weapons as he doesn't have enough pocket space or room to carry any more and decides to drop his old sharpened pipe, the knife was not as long but could probably do more damage with less effort.

Steven then looks at the shovel and decides to take the straw hat, it looked nice and upon trying it on, it fit perfectly, so Steven decides to keep it.

Steven turns around to start heading to the exit, but stops when he looks out the window and notices that the scarecrow in the middle of the field has disappeared from its post.

At this point, everything went deathly quiet except the rain and storm, even the crows outside stopped any noise.

Suddenly, Steven heard a sound from above him on the barn roof, the sound of wood bending and roof tiles being moved.

Then CRASH.

The Scarecrow crashed through the roof with the spear from its body now in its hands.

Steven manages to get out of the way of the falling Scarecrow as it crashes to the ground, impaling the spear into the barn floor.

Steven turns to look at the Scarecrow as it slowly stands up after the impact and pulls its spear from the ground.

Steven, scared, shouts at the Scarecrow "HEY, IM GOING TO WARN YOU ONCE, BACK OFF AND I WON'T SHOOT"

The scarecrow turns to look at Steven with its spear in hand and walks towards him, the thing is twice his size and the spear is easily 12ft long.

Steven shouts "I'M WARNING YOU" pointing the loaded shotgun at the creature as he moves backwards and out of the barn doors, into the open area between the barn and corn field.

The Scarecrow then walks out of the barn, and starts running towards Steven with its spear ready to attack.

Steven sees what its doing, aims at the bandages that hold its body together and fires a shot into the Scarecrow.

BANG.

The scarecrow recoils from the first shot as its bandages are partly blasted open by the impact.

The Scarecrow gets knocked back but manages to keep itself upright.

Then again.

BANG.

The scarecrow recoils from the second shot as its bandages are ripped open by the second impact.

The bandages fall off the Scarecrows body as it tries to steady itself.

That is when it tries to swing its spear again, only for its sides and arms to fall off in single clean cuts that run down its abdomen.

The Scarecrow , now having no arms, tries to walk towards Steven, only for its remaining body to split vertically into 4 clean slices from the front to the back.

the Scarecrow falls apart into a total of 6, somewhat still alive pieces, a total of 2 arms, and 4 vertical slices of its middle body with the legs still being attached to two of the vertical slices.

Steven, disgusted by this, steps back as the slices of the Scarecrow settle on the floor and quickly stop moving, he looks at it for a second and then notices something among the slices of its body.

The Scarecrow itself was hollow and was housing something, that is when he spots a familiar shape among the pieces.

Steven digs through the slices and finds what he thinks is the real pearl, curled up among the slices of the Scarecrow.

[In the real world, the gems are shocked by this, especially Pearl who was very much alive.

"Why was this happening, why am I the one who was inside that thing?" Pearl thinks to herself.]

Confused, he pulls her out of the pile of Scarecrow pieces and looks at her, she isn't moving so Steven lays her down on the floor and sees that her eyes are open and feels that her skin is deathly cold.

Steven sits on his knees, holding the Pearl in his arms, he turns its head to look at him and says "Pearl, are you ok? please, say something."

That is when Steven realises that the Pearl is cold and lifeless, shes dead.

Steven, tears building up in his eyes, confused and scared by this, has no idea how to react, all he can do now is hold her in his arms and cry as the heavy rain falls from the storm filled sky.

Steven then carefully lays the body of Pearl down and thinks to himself "how did this happen to her? why? what caused this? did I cause this? Was this all real?"

Steven then thinks to himself "hold on, what happened before I ended up here anyway?"

That is when Steven realises that he can't actually remember how, last thing he remembers was saying "I'm a monster" while on the floor, now he was here.

Steven then also realises that the map and newspaper pieces were a part of whats going on here, this clearly was too, its all part of whatever is happened here, he needed answers.

Steven then stood up, wiped the tears from his face and remembered the shovel in the barn.

He knew what he had to do now, Steven wen't inside, grabbed the shovel and started digging a grave on the right side of the barn relative to the front of the doors for what he thought was his dead friend.

After about 4 hours of digging, the grave was done.

Steven placed the Pearls body in the grave and looked down into it one last time before filling the grave in with dirt.

After he was done, Steven found the Scarecrows spear and stuck it in the ground as a way to mark the grave, after this Steven then went into the corn field and took a corn stalk to place on the grave in place of flowers.

After placing the corn stalk on the gave, Steven decided to say goodbye one last time.

Steven knelt down, looked at the grave and recited a short prayer before standing up and walking to the back gate of the farm whilst holding back his tears.

Steven unbarred it, allowing him to easily walk around and back to the car.

Steven got in the car, and immediately started driving back to focus on something as a means of stopping himself from crying.

As Steven drove back and was around 3/5 the way there, he sees something ahead in the road and stops.

This time its a large group of deformed fleshy creatures, their forms varying greatly, one looking like a worm, another more like a ball of flesh with random limbs poking out.

There had to be at least 14 mutants there, Steven not wanting anything to do with this manages to avoid the large group of creatures by taking an alternative route back to the house.

Upon arriving at the house, Steven gets inside, pins up the third piece of newspaper and sits down, trying to stay strong and not cry about what just happened to his friend.

That is when Steven realises he can't hold it in anymore as tears stream down his face.

Steven puts his head in his hands and starts crying about Pearl.

[The gems in the real world are visibly upset by Stevens distress.

Pearl says out loud, tears running down here face, the whole room hearing her "Steven... please... I'm here... please wake up...we miss you..."]

Steven continues to cry into his hands, unaware that the gems can see all of this.

After about half an hour, Steven manages to calm himself down, and pulls out the map to try and focus on something.

Steven looks at the map and sees that the farm is now marked as done and a new location is marked, the location is called "The Hospital", its in the middle of the right side of the city.

Steven wipes away his remaining tears and decides to check how much ammo he has left for the shotgun.

2 shots used on the Scarecrow, only 6 remain.

Steven decides that this is good enough, and plans to head to "The Hospital" to find the next piece of the newspaper and maybe, just maybe, some more clues towards whats actually going on.

But before Steven heads to "the hospital", he thinks to himself.

He thinks about what horrors could await him, its then that Steven has a flashback to the time he was attacked by gem mutants in the hospital with Connie.

Remembering this, Steven realises that he could very easily be ambushed in such a large area, meaning that he will need to be extra careful if hes going to find the answers he needs.

Steven then leaves the house, gets into the car and starts driving towards "the hospital".

Steven arrives at "the hospital", its a large concrete cylindrical building with a circular parking lot around it, no windows and only 1 set of doors at the front, built around a large device, similar to a injector from the gems home world, albeit with several differences, the top having 3 long metal supports connecting to the floor, keeping it upright, the device being filled with a dull grey fluid and multiple long tubes running from the device into the hospital.

Steven parks his car near the front doors of "the hospital" and gets out.

Looking for a way inside, Steven notices that the front door is slightly open so decides to head in that way.

Upon entering the hospital, the door closes behind Steven and to his horror, locks automatically behind him.

Steven turns around and tries to open the door, only to find that it needs a key to be unlocked.

Steven then realises that hes going to have to find both the newspaper piece and the keys to the door if he wants to figure out whats going on.

Steven turns around and begins his search of the hospital, the lights in the hospital being dim but functional, just enough to see a good distance.

he looks around and sees that he is currently in a reception area with the room only exiting to a hallway on the right and a broken elevator on the left.

Steven, knowing the elevator was of no use, turns right and down a hallway.

After exploring rooms and the long curved hallway for about 38 minutes, Steven finds a set of stairs at the end of the hallway, leading up to the second floor.

Steven heads up the stairs and enters the second floor hallway, he walks a short distance into the hallway, only for a door on his right, about 5 feet ahead, to swing open and a deformed pale humanoid with 2 right arms, a larger deformed left arm and a tumor like head to rush out at him.

Steven, terrified, unloads a single shotgun round into the creature, blowing a hole in its chest and stopping it just before it could hit him.

The creature stumbles back from the shot and drops to the floor, Steven looks at the things body as it spasms before dying, it looks just like one of the gem mutants that attacked him at the hospital years ago, albeit made of human flesh and not gem shards.

Steven looks into the room it came from and notices a large metal container like device, the front having a pair of sliding doors made from steel and the sides having a set of tubes leading into a bunch of smaller strange machines, with larger pipes leading out into the wall, probably connected to the strange injector like device in the middle of the hospital.

Steven decides to move on from this grisly scene and continue looking for what he came here for.

Steven continues to explore the second floor all the way around the circumference of the hospital but finds nothing except empty rooms and a set of stairs leading to a third floor.

Steven reloads his shotgun before heading to the third floor, now only having 3 extra shots left, and 2 in his gun.

Realising that this lack of ammo could get him killed, Steven switches to the 9mm and prepares to head up to the third floor.

Steven heads up to the third floor and walks into the hallway, he walks a fair distance before he hears some shuffling, this time 2 creatures emerge from a door on the left, 3 doors ahead of him.

The creatures are thin with tumor like heads, one having a total of 7 arms all across its body, while the other has a second head and 3 digitigrade legs.

The 2 creatures rush at Steven to attack, but with 4 shots from the 9mm, Steven is able to kill both of them easily.

That is when Steven notices that a stray bullet hit the wall, oddly enough doing no damage to it at all.

Curious, Steven fires a direct shot at a wall, only for the bullet to do no damage at all, it just stops on contact and drops to the floor, almost as if all its momentum just disappeared on contact.

Steven then decides to move on, continues down the hall and finds a stairs leading to a 4th floor.

Steven heads up the stairs and down the 4th hallway, this time finding no monsters.

Steven looks around for a bit and manages to find a security office with an unlocked door, inside is another newspaper piece, a file and 2 shotguns shells.

Steven now has 5 extra shells and 2 in his shotgun.

Steven then picks up and looks at the newspaper Piece, its the middle part, showing more of his house, but with an ambulance outside.

Steven pockets the piece and picks up the file.

Steven opens the file and looks inside, it contains documents talking about research done using the grey fluid from the large injector like device and how the fluid has mutating effects on organic tissue.

Steven decides to pocket the papers from the file as they too feel important to leave behind.

Steven then turns around to leave the security office but before he can leave, he hears a thumping coming from the floor below, moving as if its approaching the stairs.

Steven pulls out his 9mm and looks around the doorway, waiting to see what it is.

After about 2 minutes, Steven sees the shadow of a large figure coming towards him from around the curved hallway with the same thumping sound as it gets closer.

Steven, not wanting to get cornered, emerges from the office and points the 9mm at whatever it is.

Steven then fully sees what the shadow of the figure was.

The thing was easily 8 foot tall, its body female in shape, wrapped in medical gauze in a way that looks like a nurses uniform, its skin a purple-maroon colour.

The things head is square in shape, its eyes and hair also wrapped in medical gauze like its body, leaving only its mouth visible while also wearing a broken metal halo like ring above is head.

The thing also dragged a club, a large purple metal gloved fist on a purple metal pole, the fist looking just like one of Garnets gauntlets.

The thing charges at Steven, swinging its club at him.

Steven darts back and manages to dodge its swing, just barely.

The club hits a wall as it continues to swing past him, damaging the wall badly.

Steven then realises how dangerous this thing is, it can damage these walls with a club while his bullets can't even scratch them.

Steven, scared, shoots at it with the 9mm 6 times in the head, only stunning the thing for a moment.

As the thing is stunned, it falls on to one knee and Steven notices that this thing has the keys he needs to escape the hospital tied to its hip by a rope made of medical gauze.

Steven tries to reach for the keys while the thing is stunned, only to be backhanded by the creature before he can reach them.

Steven is knocked back by the creatures backhand and just manages to prevent himself from falling over.

Steven then notices that the creature is slowly getting back up and runs past it quickly before it can swing again.

Steven runs down the stairs, to put some distance between him and this thing so that be can get more shots on it and maybe kill it.

But then as hes running through the hallway on the third floor, the thing smashes its way through the ceiling ahead of him and lands in front of him, blocking him off.

Steven then has a thought, "if his bullets can't damage the walls and only stun this thing, yet its club can damage the walls, maybe its own club can kill it?".

Steven fires at the thing 6 times, emptying half of the remaining clip into it, bringing the creature down on its knee again.

This time Steven rushes towards the thing and grabs its club, the thing puts up resistance but Steven shoots it in the hand twice, causing it to let go of the club.

Steven then notices that the club is surprisingly light relative to its size and that he seems able to use it far more effectively than the thing ever could.

Steven prepares the club and lifts it into the air, bringing it down on the things head, knocking it to the ground.

The thing lays on the floor, trying to get up as Steven lifts the club again, bringing it down on the things head.

This time, the creatures head splatters across the floor from the impact, leaving a bloody mess in the process.

Steven then drops the club and looks at the mess he made for a moment, processing what just happened, disgusted by it, he then thinks to himself "did I need to kill it? maybe I could have just taken the keys while it was down on the floor"

Steven then notices that the body of the thing is turning into ashes.

As the body breaks down he sees something coloured in the ashes.

Steven digs in the ashes and finds gem shards, the shards of Ruby and Sapphire, the two gems that garnet is a fusion of.

Confused, Steven thinks to himself "what the hell is going on? was this real? Did I just kill my friend?"

[In the real world, the gems are confused by this, Garnet in particular is baffled and worried about what Stevens nightmare could mean.]

Steven picks up the gem shards and looks at them, he thinks to himself "what have I done?" as feelings of pure regret, remorse and sadness wash over him.

Steven knew what had to be done, he had to give his friend a proper burial and continue to find answers, answers to he can finale end this mystery.

Steven then pockets the shards and takes them with him as he heads back to unlock the door and leave.

Steven unlocks the hospital doors with the key, walks out into the rain, gets in the car and drives back to the house.

Steven arrives back at the house and walks onto the beach, Steven then digs into the sand with his hands, making a small hole.

Steven takes the shards out of his pocket and looks at them while a strong feeling of regret, remorse and sadness washes over him again, Steven then puts the shards in the hole he dug and covers them with sand, burying them.

Steven sits there for a moment looking at the grave, wishing this would all end soon.

Steven then stands up, walks to the house, goes inside and pins up the next piece of the newspaper, making the full image while the last piece, the headline, is still missing.

the full image shows his house with an ambulance parked outside, nobody in the picture, just his home and an ambulance outside.

Steven then sits down and starts to cry, this was the second friend he had to bury now.

Steven then starts crying profusely, Steven puts his head into his hands and cries for about 80 minutes, regret, remorse and sadness, flooding his mind.

Once Steven is done, he looks at the map again, still filled with sadness, he needed answers, he needs this madness to end.

The hospital is marked off, the next location is called "city hall", its directly in the middle of the city.

Stevens sadness began to slowly turn into determination, 2 of his friends were dead, he had to find out what happened here, for the friends he lost, to end this mystery once and for all.

Steven puts away his map, runs to the car and gets in, he knew what had to be done.

Steven starts up the car and starts driving.

the town hall was directly in the middle of the city, it was practically a straight drive from the house, albeit with a few turns on the way.

After about 20 minutes of driving, Steven arrives at the town hall, its a large concrete building with a small parking lot outside, a set of stairs leading up to a large pair of wooden doors, with two concrete lion statues outside, both standing by the sides of the stairs, the statues looking oddly similar to the lion that occasionally helped him and the gems.

Steven then parks the car in the parking lot outside and gets out.

Steven then walks up to the stairs, walks up the stairs and looks at the doors.

The doors seem to have no handle on the outside, so Steven pushes one and to his surprise the door easily and quietly opens.

Steven walks into the building and looks around, the interior is well lit, the floor covered with a soft red carpet, a receptionist desk sitting in the middle of the room, a pair of doors at the back of the room with stairs leading up to it, the walls being bare concrete but with the occasional picture decorating them and 7 concrete statues, 6 standing against the walls and one in the middle of the room.

3 of the statues were on the left side of the room, placed against but facing away from the wall.

Statues of Pearl, Garnet and Amethyst.

3 more stood on the right side of the room, also placed against but facing away from the wall, they were statues of the 3 larger monsters he had killed, the creature in the slaughter house, the scarecrow from cold wind farm with the spear and the thing with the club that attacked him at the hospital.

But the 7th statue stood right in the middle of the room, it looked similar to a knight, but it had a sword that looked like rose's sword, and the head was shaped like a diamond.

The pictures around the room were of things Steven didn't recognise, people who looked like former mayors, pictures of places he didn't recognise and photos of new places being opened, one of them being the hospital he was in just before, except it had no injector in the middle and had windows in the walls outside.

After looking around, Steven decides that its time to progress and look for what he came for.

Steven then walks around the 7th statue and towards the receptionists desk.

Steven looks at the desk and finds nothing of importance, just letters to residents whose names he didn't recognise, overdue bills, etc.

Steven then decides to see whats behind the doors at the back of the room and starts walking towards them.

Steven arrives at the doors, these doors unlike the front doors have a pair of handles on the outside, so Steven pulls one open and sees that they lead into a small mayors office with a desk in the middle, a few file cabinets at the back and some decent but dim lighting, just enough to see the room properly.

Steven then walks inside and an automatic door closer slowly pulls the door shut behind him.

Steven looks around the office and finds nothing in the cabinets, with the exception of 8 files, Steven decides to open the first one and take a look.

The first 7 files are simply just financial records, so Steven puts them aside and moves on to the next one.

The next file he opens contains 3 unsent letters, one to the slaughter house, the farm and the hospital.

The first letter saying that the mayor was unsure about the safety of the "viventem reformatur," and that "playing god like this was not a good idea."

The second letter saying that the mayor was concerned about several agents found in the pesticide used on Coldwind farm and that they may not be safe.

The third letter being a warning letter from the mayor, telling the hospital staff that such experiments with the grey fluid from the injector needed to stop due to the adverse effects it had on patients.

Steven felt a sense of importance from these letters, they felt like a part of the answer that would tell him what was going on here, so he pocket them and continued to search the mayors office.

Next, Steven checked the desk and found a letter with the words "To Mr Universe, Please open at home" written on it, Steven looked at it and for a moment considered opening it now, but decided to shake it to get a sense of what may be inside.

Steven shakes the letter a bit and feels something solid moving around inside, Steven the reconsiders opening it but decides to open it later when hes at the house.

Steven then looks around for anything he may have missed, but after a short moment of looking, he hears the sound of stone crashing to the ground in the main room and decides that he needs to investigate.

Steven leaves the office and notices that the 7th statue in the middle of the room has cracked and its sword has fallen to the ground, Steven the decides that its probably best to leave.

Steven then heads to the front doors but to his shock, they can't be opened, their sealed shut by something.

Steven then hears a sound behind him, he turns and looks to see that the 7th statue has cracked even more and something pink can be seen underneath.

Whatever it is underneath is moving, trying to break free, the concrete around it giving way, allowing it to move more and more as it fights its way out.

Within about 10 seconds, the concrete finale gives way, and the thing emerges from the concrete.

the thing in question is around 8ft tall, covered in plate armour of varying pink colours, its head a distinct pink diamond shape.

Steven look at this knight like thing as it walks forward and picks up the sword that fell to the floor.

The "Pink Knight" lifts the sword into the air and slams it into the floor, breaking off the concrete and revealing that it is indeed his mothers sword.

The thing then starts walking towards him, swinging its sword at random while seemingly trying to pull itself back and away from him.

Steven pulls out the 9mm and aims at the Pink Knight, it then clicks in his mind whats hes
looking at.

The head, the sword, the colour, was this some kind of thing to do with his mother?

Steven then remembers that the other two monsters had his friends inside them in some way and seemed to even represent them in some way, the scarecrow had pearls spear and the thing in the hospital had garnets fist on its mace, aw hell, the thing in the slaughter house reminded him of Amethyst.

Steven didn't want to bury another friend, let alone his mother.

Steven shouts at the thing, "Mom? is that you? are you in that thing?" and to his surprise, the Pink Knight seems to jolt back, as if trying to intentionally keep its distance for a moment before it processed towards him again, albeit more unsteady and slower than before.

Steven, noticing this, shouts at it again again "Mom, I know you did awful things, but your still my mother and I love you, if your in there, please, give me a sign."

The Pink Knight staggers back again, this time swinging its sword around for a moment before turning away for about 4 seconds before slowly and jerkily turning back and walking towards Steven, its movements slowed down significantly.

Steven shouts at it again "Please, mom, don't do this, we still love you.".

The Pink Knight then seems to forcefully pull itself away from Steven, grabbing its head and running off to the side for a moment, before lifting its sword into the air with both hands and impaling itself.

The Pink knight loses its grip of its sword and falls to its knees.

Steven walks over to it and carefully approaches it as he gets closer, its body starts breaking apart into pink rose petals as it slowly dies.

Just before it fully falls apart, the Pink Knight reaches into its body and pulls out a dirty pink gift box, the same kind Steven found in the house, places it on the floor, and finale falls apart into rose petals.

Steven then realises that this Pink knight must have been what left those scratch marks and the gift, and was the thing he saw sprint across the road.

Steven kneels down and looks at the pile of rose petals, tears running down his face, Steven takes a handful of the rose petals and puts them in his pocket, he knew what had to be done now.

Steven then notices that the sword of the Pink knight didn't turn into petals and decides to take it with him as well.

[In the real world, the gems are horrified by this.

Pearl says out loud "my god... n-no... r-r-rose no..." as tears run down her face.

The other gems are visibly upset and horrified, Pearl is now crying and the other gems are
totally speechless].

Steven then picks up the gift box and tries the door again, this time it slowly opens with no resistance.

Steven then gets in his car, tears still running down his face and starts driving back with the letters, the rose petals, the gift the Pink Knight tore from its body and its sword.

Steven parks up outside the house and sits in the car for a moment, "was all this worth it?" he thinks to himself.

Steven gets out and walks over to the house, goes inside and places the letters on the table so that he can look at them later, Steven had another friend to bury.

Steven walks down to the other grave and digs another with his hands beside it, placing the petals inside and burying them, Steven then stabs the sword into the ground as a tomb stone to mark the graves location before kneeling down, reciting a short prayer and heading back into the house.

Steven then goes inside and opens the letter addressed to "Mr Universe" and finds the last newspaper piece inside but folded up along with a piece of folded paper with the words "read me first" written on the outside.

Steven unfolds the paper and it turns out to be a letter from his mother, it says about how, in this world, she can no longer control herself and that she is sorry if she hurt him and that shes sorry that she had to kill herself in front of him like that.

The final part of the letter tells Steven to not read the newspaper piece yet, but to unfold it, pin it up and read it all as a whole.

Steven then decides to open the pink gift box too before he puts on the last piece of the newspaper.

Steven opens the box and finds a shard of a mirror inside, Steven takes out the mirror shard and looks at it, seeking his reflection in it, he looks normal.

Knowing this had to be important, Steven then pockets it and decides to put up the last piece of the newspaper, completing the image and headline.

Steven stands back and looks at the finished news paper, the image being his house with an ambulance outside and the headline saying "local man unwell, sent to clinic"

Steven then realises that something is wrong and it fully hits him whats going on.

He was unwell, these monsters represented his fears, anxieties and problems.

Steven then decides to check the map again but the map is gone, its just a message now that says "Look at what you have become".

Steven then pulls out the mirror shard and looks at himself in it, his reflection is different, he looks "wrong", his gem is red, he looks angry and hes wearing some sort of torn up suit covered by a grey hoodie covered in blood stains.

Steven then feels a sharp pain in his arms as he drops the shard and starts to feel sick and dizzy, causing him to fall to the floor.

Suddenly everything turns black for what feels like a moment and Steven wakes up on the floor in a padded cell wearing a straight jacket, still trapped in his nightmare.

Steven stands up and notices that hes in a place he doesn't recognise, some sort of mental asylum or mental ward.

Steven then realises that he has none of his weapons or tools and can't use his arms at all.

Steven, scared and confused, looks for a way out, there is only one, the rusty cell door.

[In the real world, the gems are shocked and confused by this.]

Steven kicks the cell door and it swings open, the rusted hinges breaking, causing the door to fall off and revealing a dark hallway with flickering broken lights.

Steven walks out of the door way and looks around, the hallway only going in one direction, to the right.

Steven walks down the hallway, its full of empty cells, his being the only one that was locked.

Steven reaches the end and turns left, the only way the hallway goes.

Steven walks a short distance down the hall and sees an office on his left and tries to open it.

To his surprise, the door is unlocked and their is a rusted machete on the desk that Steven can use to undo the straps that are holding his arms.

Steven then carefully manoeuvres himself around the blade, using it to cut the straps and free his arms.

With his arms now free, Steven picks up the machete as a way to defend himself if he is attacked by something due to no longer having his guns or even the combat knife he never used.

Now with a means of defending himself, Steven leaves the office and starts exploring the strange asylum he now finds himself in.

Steven looks down the hall and sees nothing except another turn in he distance and decides to progress.

Steven walks through multiple seemingly empty hallways for about 4 minutes before he turns a corner and finds himself in a hallway with holes in the walls, some of the walls having fallen away entirely, all of the holes exposing a black and seemingly endless void behind them.

Steven decides to test if the void outside truly is endless.

he picks up a small rock that had fallen out of one of the collapsed walls and throws it into the void outside.

The small rock disappears and Steven listens for an impact, but after 2 minutes, nothing.

Steven turns to continue down the hallway, only to feel something hit him lightly.

He looks to see what it was and notices that its the exact save rock he threw before, its almost as if the void around him waited for him to turn around, just to throw it back at him.

Steven decides to progress down the hall and walks through more hallways, some splitting into two or more, some even being dead ends or looping around for about 2 hours.

Some areas having no walls or ceilings, some having no ceiling and just walls, and some having just the ceiling above him.

Every now and then, Steven would see a figure in the distance down the hallways that looked almost like him him, but was too far away to identify, the figure would wave at him just before running around a corner.

Steven felt like this was important and decided to follow the figure.

That is until Steven finds himself walking down a hallway lined with cell doors with a 2 way split at the end, Steven cautiously prepares to fight anything that burst out as he slowly makes his way past the doors.

Just as Steven passes the last door, they all suddenly burst open and multiple deformed creatures step out into the hallway behind him.

Steven looks behind him and starts running as a horde of creatures fills the hallway behind him.

All of the creatures are fleshy and resemble the various gem mutants Steven had encountered, some of them looking like the 3 monsters he had killed, some of them even speaking with voices he recognised like Pearl, Garnet or Connie.

Steven ran as fast as he could, there were too many creatures to possibly fight, they would easily overwhelm him if he tried.

Steven runs and hears footsteps on the left, seeing more creatures coming out of the left turn, leaving only the right as an option.

Steven runs for the right hallway split off and turns down the corner, only to find a bathroom door.

Quickly, Steven goes into the bathroom and closes the door behind him, the door locking shut automatically as it closes.

The hoard crashes into the door and then stops, seemingly knowing that they can no longer access him, some of them banging on the door and walls, mimicking the voices of the people he knew to seemingly try and lure him out.

Steven looks around and realises that hes trapped now, all that's around him is a few bathroom stalls, a few sinks and a large mirror.

Steven decides to calm down and looks at himself in the mirror in the bathroom, Steven turns on the tap and washes his face to try and regain some energy, tired from having to literally just run from what could have been well over 30 creatures.

Unexpectedly, the lights in the bathroom flicker and the reflection in the mirror changes.

the room he sees in the mirror is now the bathroom from his own house, except a hole in the wall at the back is leading into the sealed off gem temple from before, his reflection now being the other one he saw in the mirror shard.

Steven looks down into the sink. shakes his head and says to himself "none of this makes sense, this can't be real right?"

But to Stevens absolute horror, he hears a voice in front of him reply "Its just as real as I am"

Steven looks up and his reflection lunges out of the mirror, grabbing him and violently pulling him through into the other bathroom via the mirror.

Steven is then violently thrown into the temple room by his reflection via the hole in the wall as it says to him "or should I say, I'm just as real as you?"

Steven gets up and looks at his reflection self, Steven asks it "who are you?"

His reflection replies "I'm Uneven and so are you, but you can call me... Uneven Steven".

It then clicks in Stevens mind that this "Uneven Steven" is the other him he saw waving to him in the hallways.

Steven says to Uneven Steven "I'm just going to call you Uneven for now, but whats more import is why.

why am I here?"

Uneven walks out of the bathroom via the hole in the wall and towards Steven and stops 4 feet away from him.

Uneven replies to Steven "don't you get it yet? the monsters, the city, me, I am everything wrong with you, your friends, your world, I am part of you"

Steven replies "so your telling me that your the reason I'm here?"

Uneven replies "no, you are, I'm everything that is wrong with you, your awful, selfish, childish, a fraud, a failure, a liar, a killer.

Steven replies "but, I-I-"

Uneven replies "there is no excuse for this Steven, you know it, just look around."

Steven looks around himself and notices that their are chalk lines and blood stains, the chalk lines being of those who he loved the most, Connie, Greg, Pearl, Garnet, Amethyst.

Steven says to Uneven "no, this can't be real, your lying"

Uneven says "No, your denying the facts"

Steven replies "No, none of this is real, your not real, your a liar"

Uneven replies "seems you won't learn, your just as arrogant as your friends said you are-"

Steven gets mad and runs at Uneven, punching him in the face and knocking him to the floor, Steven then shouts "YOUR A LIAR, YOU'RE NOT REAL" as he kneels down and punches Uneven multiple times in the head.

as Steven punches Uneven, rocks fall from the ceiling as the room shakes, the punches causing his left eye to burst, the right to protrude from the socket and his head to split open at the back, fresh blood flowing from the wound.

Steven stops after Uneven stops moving and stands up, stepping back from what hes done.

Unexpectedly after about 4 seconds, Uneven Starts moving again and slowly stands back up while laughing.

Uneven stands back up fully, now laughing as his broken head hangs slightly open, blood flowing down the back of his head.

Uneven says to Steven "You can't win like that, you can't just kill me, I am part of you... but... I can't say the same for you..." as his head and eye slowly heals and put itself back together.

Uneven reaches into his red gem and pulls out an AR-15, Steven seeing this ducks behind a large rock that fell from the ceiling as Uneven starts to open fire on him.

Uneven shouts "IT ENDS HERE" as he fires at the rock that Steven is hiding behind for a moment.

The recoil from the gun, as his head is still slowly healing, causing his only working eye to pop out of its socket, meaning he can no longer aim or see properly.

Steven seizing this opportunity, runs at Uneven and grabs his gun, only to get shot multiple times in the chest.

But to Stevens total surprise, he realises that he hasn't been wounded some how.

It then clicks in Steven's mind that as long as he fears his problems, they can hurt him, that one moment of bravery made him basically immune to Uneven's attacks.

Now knowing this, he simply takes Uneven's gun from him and kicks him away to the floor.

As Uneven's head still slowly heals from the damage and is now mostly intact at this point, he puts his other eye back in and looks at Steven.

His eye widens with fear as he now looks down the barrel of the same gun he threatened Steven with.

Steven looks at him, Uneven tries to crawl away but realises that there is nothing he can do now.

Steven looks down on Uneven, he no longer fears him or his problems, the nightmare had to end.

Steven for a moment considers pulling the trigger but deep down he knew Uneven had a point, he was unwell, and that is what Uneven represented.

Uneven wasn't his issues at all, just a manifestation of them, shooting him would do nothing, it would only make Steven just as bad as him if anything.

Steven lowers the gun and says "I'm not like you and I refuse to let this part of me decide who I am, I'm done with your silly games, its over."

Steven then precedes to break the gun over his knee, and after breaking it, the gun just turns to dust in his hands.

After that, Uneven's body starts to break down but not completely, his legs, hands, lower body and part of his head turn to dust, leaving him unable to chase or attack Steven.

Steven turns away from Uneven, looks around, sees the warp pad and walks towards it, something about it felt right, he knew it was the way out of this nightmare once and for all.

Steven stands on the warp pad as it starts to activate but before he leaves Uneven shouts "You will never escape me, I will always be a part of you".

Steven replies "yeah and I'll deal with it" as the warp pad activates and the nightmare crumbles away around him.

Steven wakes up in the hospital, his gem slowly fading from white to its usual pink.

The gems run over to him, asking him what happened, saying they saw the whole nightmare and that they were worried about him.

Steven starts crying and says to them "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry guys"

The gems all hug and comfort him, telling him its OK and that he just needed to tell them what was wrong.

After this, Connie's mother walks over and tells them all to give him some space, which the gems reluctant do, having been so worried about him for so long.

Pearl says to Steven "we were worried about you, why didn't you tell us you were unwell?"

Steven replies "I wasn't thinking clearly, I'm sorry to scare you all like that"

Garnet replies "Its OK, whats important is that your safe"

Steven replies "I'm safe, but we have other problems, you all saw whats wrong with me and Its clear that I need help now, all of those memories, those monsters, these places and things, its all taken a toll on me"

Peridot replies "yeah, we can see that, you need to see a therapist and soon"

Steven replies "good idea"

Connie's mother replies to Steven "I'm sure we can give therapy another try"

Steven replies "sure thing, when can I see you?"

Connie's mother replies "I'll have to check my schedule but we should be able to do Wednesday or Thursdays at 4pm"

Steven replies "sounds good, the quicker we can get this sorted out, the better"

After this, Steven started going to therapy, he randomly expanded a few times but after a while he manged to figure out how to stay calm and not expand at sheer random.

After a few years of therapy, Steven managed to resolve almost off of his psychological problems.

But he still had one issue, Uneven's withered body would manifest in the mirror sometimes, almost as a way of saying "I'm still here", but with time this issue faded too.

In the end, Uneven and the nightmare became nothing but a memory.

But Steven would always remember Uneven and the horrors he witnesses.

They were a part of him now, Uneven was right in the end, he could never truly be rid of him, Uneven was what made him who he was now.

Steven had grown up too, he was no longer an awful, selfish person.

And that is where this story ends, Steven is free from the nightmare, his illness and a better man.

Steven continued to fight threats with the gems and lived is life as normal.

Here is a list of alternative endings / deaths that could have happened:

1. Steven has a heart attack from stress and dies in hospital before the story enters the "Nightmare".

2. Steven is ripped apart and devoured by the spider creature in the city, causing him to die on the hospital bed.

3. Steven is unable to defend himself from the monster in the slaughter house and is devoured, causing him to die on the hospital bed.

4. Steven doesn't shoot the scarecrow monster on Cold wind farm and is impaled by it, causing him to die on the hospital bed.

4-A. Steven commits suicide in the house by shooting himself with the shotgun (after burying the dead pearl), causing him to die on the hospital bed.

5. Steven gets ambushed in the hospital by the pod creatures and is violently torn apart, causing him to die on the hospital bed.

6. Steven doesn't realise the hospital monster can be killed by its own weapon, gets cornered and beaten to death, causing him to die on the hospital bed.

6-A. Steven commits suicide using the 9mm (after burying the shards of Ruby and Sapphire)

7. Steven panics and is impaled by the Pink Knight, causing him to die on the hospital bed.

8. Steven kills Uneven and becomes possessed by him, Uneven then escapes into the real world, manifests his AR-15 and kills everyone before fleeing beach city.

9. Steven wakes up but doesn't get therapy, causing him to relapse and commit suicide.

9-A. Steven leaves instead of staying.
