----------Introduction----------
Struggling to get valedictorian? Wondering if it's even possible to get a stat to level 10? Don't worry. I, too, was uncertain. Luckily, I took notes on the training activities so you wouldn't have to!
General Tips
If you're having trouble getting your pup's stats up, keep the following in mind:
  • Some training activities are inherently more worthwhile than others.
  • There is no penalty for spamming the same activity over and over.
  • There is no apparent penalty OR benefit related to your dog's energy level. The "xp bonus from high energy" message doesn't seem to change anything.
  • All four dogs gain xp at the same rate in all stats.
I suspect some of these may be patched later and will update the guide accordingly when that happens.
Dogagatchi Events and Pawsonal Time
If you're trying to get a stat to level 10 or trying to get Valedictorian, don't forget to take advantage of dogagatchi events and pawsonal time.

Dogagatchi events are the events involving your dog's portrait on the bottom right of your screen. If you successfully address your dog during these events, they are supposed to award small stat boosts. If you do not address your dog, they are supposed to impose small stat penalties. In practice, any impact they've had one way or the other has been barely noticeable to me, but really, if you bought this game and didn't intend to interact with your virtual dog, what are you even doing?

Pawsonal time is an event type that appears on the weekly map. They are highlighted in yellow and cost 1 motivation point each. Pawsonal time events will confer a single medium-to-large stat gain to your dog. They will tell you what stat they improve up front, but the experience gain is randomized.

Note that as of this guide's publication, any stat gains from pawsonal time WILL apply, but will NOT be visibly reflected when the training screen first opens. Instead, you will see them applied along with the first training activity's stat gains when you run the week. This may also be true for the dogagatchi stat gains; I just haven't confirmed as much yet.

----------Best Activities by Stat----------
If you want to hit level 10 in a particular stat, here are the activities you want to spam:
Manners
  • Advocate for Adoption
  • Social Media Model
Sociability
  • Doggy Day Care
Trust
  • Doggy Day Care
  • Work the Runway
Smarts
  • Sit and Stay
Fitness
  • Who Frisbees, Wins
  • Puppy Paddle
  • Jog with Dog
  • Sprinkler Party
----------Stat-Based Achievements----------
At this point reaching all of these achievements should be self-explanatory, but for convenience, I've listed them here with instructions separately.

In general, the strategy for all these achievements is:
  • Start with whatever dog has the highest starting value in the corresponding stat.
  • Spam any activity that grants +20 to that stat.
  • Expect to reach level 10 in the stat around the 12-week mark.
Politest Pup in Rainbow Bay
Requires your dog to reach level 10 manners. Start with Blocker. Alternate between Advocate for Adoption and Social Media Model.
Socialite
Requires your dog to reach level 10 sociability. Start with Titan. Spam Doggy Day Care.
Reliable Dog Owner
Requires your dog to reach level 10 trust. Start with Cardigan. Alternate between Doggy Day Care and Work the Runway.
Puppy Einstein
Requires your dog to reach level 10 smarts. Start with Cheeseball. Spam Sit and Stay.
Is it a Dog? Is it a Plane?
Requires your dog to reach level 10 fitness. Start with Cardigan. Mix any of the following:
  • Who Frisbees, Wins
  • Puppy Paddle
  • Jog with Dog
  • Sprinkler Party
All of these activities will significantly lower your dog's energy, but as of this guide's publication, there is no penalty for your dog having low energy. However, if you'd like to NOT be a terrible dog owner, incorporating at least one resting activity (Squander the Day, Pupflix and Chill, or Big Spoon, Little Spoon) per week and focusing care activities on restoring energy should be plenty to keep your dog rested while still allowing you to get the achievement.
Valedictorian
As of this guide's publication, I've had a dog earn Valedictorian twice. There's an element of randomness to it since what the other dogs earn is randomized each playthrough, but at minimum you seem to need at least one gold stat to have a shot at it.

Your best bet is to start with Titan or Cardigan and then spam Doggy Day Care, which guarantees you'll get two gold stats (sociability and trust), but I also earned it on a playthrough where I started with Cheeseball and spammed Sit and Stay.
----------Conclusion----------
That's about it! Let me know if you notice any changes to any of the values above, and happy pup training!

first of all, thanks for the guide! i noticed something recently while playing - i don't think the experience gain from pawsonal time is randomised. for me at least, it seems to be based on how my dog is doing, energy-wise.
when i did the activities first in the week, i would gain the ++, then, whenever i reloaded and did another activity/encounter/date first, i would only ever get the small amount of points. i'm not entirely sure if it's only based on energy or energy and/or mood, but it consistently happened like this for me :winter2019happydog:

@Drzuma I'd definitely like to add this at some point! I'll have to figure out a good system for conveying the info since exact numbers aren't stated.

Thank you for the guide! :D It would be awsm if it'd be possible to check how some activities affect our pup's hunger/enery/hygiene etc. <3
