I just bought a tome for some spell where I can make a light hover at a point for a minute. For when my torch goes out. My current character doesn't use much magic.

Actually finding torches is really hard. No one seems to sell them.

yes and candlelight is my friend.

I modded Skyrim's lighting so that it is actually helpful. The ELFX mod I think. I also use Climates of Tameriel which makes the outside a bit darker so it helps there as well.
