If you are like me and play on a 4K display with a 200% DPI scaler the game refuses to run at full native res. Even tho the game is set to 3840X2160 the overall image is very fuzzy and is actually rendering in 1080P. To fix this locate your game folder which should be under your steam libraries.


In that folder you will find a executable called SpongeBob_BFBB_R.
Right click on it and select properties
A box should open up, navigate to the compatibility menu and press "Change high DPI settings"
Then select the override high DPI scaling behavior box.
Set scaling performed by: Application


After this is complete you can open the game again and set the resolution to the monitors native res without any issues.

This portion of the guide will help you fix the low resolution issues with the desktop shortcut icon. This works the same way with any other game or application installed on your pc. This can be quite annoying having some icons looking crisp and others looking fuzzy and ugly. To fix the issues with the spongebob game there will be a couple steps to follow.

First right click on the desktop shortcut and select properties.
Then navigate to the web Document tab and select "change icon..."

Another box will open up, click on the Browse... button
Now locate you steam folder with the spongebob game installed.

If your steam library is on your boot drive go to, C: -->, Program file x86, ---> steam, ---> steamapps, ---> common, ---> here is the list of your installed games

If your steam library is on another drive, (letter of other drive): --->steam, ---> steamapps, ---> common, ---> here is the list of your installed games

Once you have located the game files open the folder.
Select the executable named SpongeBob_BFBB_R and press open
Now you should be able to select the high resolution image and hit OK


After that press Apply and you are good to go.
