Introduction
I am going to show you some tips and tricks in the best way possible through text and YouTube videos. I am playing on PC, and it is highly recommended that you use a mouse/keyboard to do these moves. I can't say it's impossible to do it on a controller, but it will be very hard to do (especially the advanced moves). This guide will be divided into three sections: Beginner, Amateur and Advanced. Let's get runnin' and jumpin'!

Now I am no Eistein in mathematics or physics, but I will mention some technical stuff in the simplest way. But for those that don't understand some key words, here is a dictionary in the most relatable manner:

+ Parallel: Lines that do not meet (like a parallelogram)

+ Perpendicular: Lines that meet at 90° (i.e. a corner)

+ Momentum: Movement after force has been applied (think about pushing a skateboard)
Beginner moves
These moves can be done by almost by anyone as they are basic and easy to do regardless if you are using a mouse/keyboard or a controller.

Backflip:
I thought I'd start this with a cool feature. Though this has no statistical change, it's just a nice thing to do. When you grab onto a pole, you'll want to hold the S key and then jump. Don't worry, you'll still move forward. If you are a person that gets motion sickness easily, this may not be the move for you :P

Coiling:
Coiling is one of the more underated move in Catalyst, and it can be used in a lot of situations. Here are some things it can help you with:

- Reaching slightly further distances:
Coiling can help you reach a further distance, but it's only a small amount.

- Keeping your momentum:
If you want to maintain your momentum without stumbling/climbing on an object, you'll want to coil just before and you will continue as normal. Or simply, it's better to coil than climb.

- Springboard jumping:
Do you ever feel a decrease in your speed when initiating a normal springboard? If so, you'll want to jump in advance, coil, and make sure to hold the Space key to springboard. Be wary that good co-ordination is required for this.
-

"Ledgeboard":
(A portmanteau of 'ledge' and 'springboard') Due to how the game was built, basically anything that has a flat perpendicular surface can be springboarded on, inlcuding ledges. If you find a height that cannot be reached, try to find a ledge near it. When you have done so, initiate the springboard by looking at one side so that one of your arms are not holding the ledge, and make sure to hold the Space key. If you don't hold the key, you will simply just climb the ledge. To achieve the maximum height, you'll want to coil as well as soon you jump.

In the video, I know you can climb over a fence but it's just an example.

However, some of the ledges you could come across to may not initiate the springboard. This is mainly because you are over-hanging from it, and the way to identify that is to see if you can look down to your legs, and that your legs are being supported by the wall.

Instant Landing on Cushions:
As you know, as soon as you land on a yellow cushion you will have a slight delay of getting up before you can move. However by spamming the Shift key just before you land, you can cancel the landing animation and can instantly move after that.

Pause Buffering on Slopes:
Usually when you attempt to run across a steep slope, you will simply slide back. With the technique of pause buffering we can reach to the top of any slope. All you need to do is spam the pause button while moving forward. It may be inconsistent but you'll eventually get there.

Cancelling your fall with Vault:
You may have done this unintentional some time during your game, but you can cancel your fall by finding an object to vault such as a railing or a barrier.

"Smooth Skillroll":
This move is a second way to negate your fall, but this time we are doing a skillroll. By doing a skillroll on a platform, we can smoothly land on a surface that we can't land if we were to jump there.

Amateur moves
These moves are for the partly-skilled players, who have learned the key moves of Mirror's Edge Catalyst and are ready to take their experience to the next notch. Here we go!

Inwards Corner Wallrun:
You should already know that you can double wallrun surfaces that are parallel to each other, but you can also wallrun surfaces that are perpendicular to each other. In the images below, I show what you should and shouldn't do when corner wallrunning. You should jump to the second wall when close to hitting the wall, and to make sure you are looking at the wall at an angle, and not parallel (you can use the quickturn but it's better to manually look). You shouldn't jump early to the second wall otherwise you will not activate the wallrun (and probably fall to your death).

Extended Wallclimb:
When we wallclimb, you can only go as far before you lose traction. With this trick, we can grab to the ledge that's slightly higher than the furthest we can wallclimb, by using the quickturn.
As soon you reach the maximum point of your wallclimb, you have to do a quickturn, jump, and look back at the ledge in quick succession. It's best to have a high sensitivity for this.

Inwards Corner Wallclimb:
This move is a build up on the 'Extended Wallclimb' where now you will go through two wallclimbs with succession. If you want to reach double the height of the maximum height of a single wallclimb, then the Corner Wallclimb comes to place. The actions of this move closely resembles to the Extended Wallclimb except that we are doing a double wallclimb on a corner. Find a corner and basically do an extended wallclimb except that you have to turn 90° to face the wall and trigger another wallclimb when you jump. If there is still more height to cover, you can do a proper Extended Wallclimb to reach the height (as shown in the video).
NOTE: You must have a wall to your left if you want to do this the best. You can get away with having a wall on your right but it is a bit harder to do.

Wallboost and Bunnyhopping:
This technique has been used in the original Mirror's Edge, and it makes a return in this game but a lot less spammable. When we initiate a wallrun at full speed, we gain a slight speed boost. However, this speed boost doesn't last long and it is only at the very beginning of the wallrun. So if we jump of our wallrun as soon we started it, we get the speed boost while in the air. There are several factors that affect your speed:
- Your angle when you activate the wallrun. If you are close to perpendicular to the wall, you get the most speed. But if you start the wallrun near parallel to the wall, you will get a minimal or no speed boost at all.
- Your distance from the wall. If you are far from the wall before you wallrun (i.e. running at max speed), you will get most speed boost. But if you wallrun instantly, you will get a little speed boost.
- The direction you look at when jumping off the wall. If you jump near perpendicular to the wall, you get the most speed. But if you jump near parallel to the wall, you will get a minimal or no speed boost.

Like with the Wallboost, bunnyhopping also returns from the original Mirror's Edge. However unlike the original where it increased our speed, bunnyhopping in Catalyst maintains our speed. Bunnyhopping can be triggered after you jumped off a wall from a wallrun, or shortly after letting go from a swinging MAGrope. To bunnyhop, you need to press the Space key as soon you are about to touch the ground. You will see that you just bunnyhopped when you don't return to running and instead see the same animation of jumping off the wall. Since most of you reading this guide are PC players, if your mouse supports macro keys you can program your button to spam the Space key so that you can endlessly bunnyhop to oblivion. If you don't have a supported mouse, don't worry. You can still get away with 1 or 2 bunnyhops but 3 or more then that's good timing.

Boost Storage:
This move ties in with the Wallboost is it's simply a double wallrun in quick succession. When you wallboost off the first wall, you also maintain that speed for the second wall until you hit the ground. Unless, if you want to chain some bunnyhops to keep that speed until you stop.

Advanced moves
And finally, the last set of moves mentioned from here defy the laws of physics. At this point, a mouse/keyboard is necessary for these moves.

Outwards Corner Wallrun and Corner Wallboost:
This is probably the most frustrating move mentioned in this guide, so be prepared just in case you literally break something.. In Mirror's Edge Catalyst, it is possible to literally 'cut corners' with the Corner Wallrun. To do this, trigger a regular wallrun and as soon you reach the corner, you'll have to jump while pressing the given key of the direction (i.e. A or D), and to also look at the direction. If you do this too early, you will activate a wallclimb instead. If you are new to this move, I recommend you practice a corner wallrun on an angled wall (see video) and when you feel confident then you can attempt a perpendicular corner wallrun.
This move is also essentially a Wallboost since we are technically transitioning between walls quickly, and you'll notice that you will still maintain a high speed when changing walls. I don't think most will do this, but like before you can chain some bunnyhops.

Outwards Corner Wallclimb:
The actions of this move closely resembles the "Inwards Corner Wallclimb" except this is done on the outside of a corner. For a stationary wallclimb, you'll want to place one hand onto the wall, activate a wallclimb, quickturn and jump in quick succession while looking back at the wall. You'll know when you do it when you wallrun on the other wall. Even after the second wallclimb, you can do a quickturn to reach the ledge that's still high.
However if you are on the move, make sure you are accurate on where you run so that you will wallrun half of the wall.
You can do this with the wall on your right, but I'll say that's too hard to do at first. Start off with the wall on the left and do the right later.

Double Wallboost:
A 'double wallboost' is essentially what you think is is.. a wallboost done twice. Oh my God.
Your wallboosts from each wall have to be done with good mouse movement and your timing needs to be on point or you will not reach your potential. So far this is the second fastest way to move in Mirror's Edge Catalyst, just behind the Collision Wallboost.

Collision Wallboost:
Meanwhile the Collision Wallboost is the fastest way to move in the game, but finding spots to do it aren't as common as the Double Wallboost.
When you wallrun on an irregular platform (such as an AC unit or a tunnel), you will transition to the irregular surface without being interrupted. If you jump during this transition, you will keep the transition boost which gives you a huge speed boost. What makes this hard is maintaining the speed. Chaining a bunnyhop or two is recommended to make the best out of it which may be difficult for some players.

Speedrun Levels
Temporarily halted in production. Sorry.
Final Words & Video Credits
Though I had unintentionally found these moves on my own, I obviously was not the first one to find these moves and to show it on YouTube. The reason this guide exists is to put everything from YouTube and to describe/elaborate each move with ease and detail, into one guide. The following videos listed below is where I learned the moves. To Steve Glowpunk and Zen, I would like to personally thank you for your efforts and contribution to the world of Mirror's Edge.
