Well in game you don´t see any legionary using energy guns. Anyway the legion do prefer to use the melee weapons

Oh and btw Legion soldiers do use guns normaly, if they are in a fight they can use whatever weapon they find to be victorious even energy weapons, ( I know it from wikia info and game experience)

I´ll take the forces of outcasted brotherhood members and other factions with me in the fight over hooverdam. And Ill say it to you now the Legion will be victorious
