Overgrowth Footsteps Replacement

Description
Some sleek new footsteps for ya!

This mod replaces most of those shoddy 2004 steppies with some higher quality steps from the game Ovegrowth!

This mod replaces:
-concrete
-dirt
-grass
-gravel
-mud
-sand
-slosh (water steps)
-snow
-wade (water swim)
-wood
-woodpanel

Some sounds I could not replace, like Metal, because Overgrowth had no metal surfaces in it in the first place.
Perhaps I'll make a mod that is a combination of these and Black Mesa steps, that way it's a complete replacement.

Are u able to make the ragdoll from the game like port it or try to make it?

Yes sir. It should work for all NPC's, considering GMod doesn't use the Half-Life NPC footstep sounds and just rhe player ones.

npc footsteps too?

Also, you can make your own sounds using that as a template folder. You just need some good .wavs, and then rename them to the fitting footstep.

For example, something like amn_Rock1.wav would get renamed to concrete1.wav

If you have a good sound but it's not .wav, simply drag & drop into Audacity and then export it as one. No need to change export settings.

If you don't have the sound in a file, then you can record your desktop audio by setting Audacity's recording format to Windows WASAPI and changing your microphone to your headphones (loopback.) for example, mine is Sades A60 (loopback) because my Sades A60 is my default sound device.

Perhaps I should publish a guide on this.

@The Doctor Try going to {LINK REMOVED} and then locally installing the addon.

Once you unzip it and then throw it in addons, your path should look like this:

steamapps > common > Garry's Mod > garrysmod > addons > Overgrowth Footsteps > sound

I don't remember exactly what I named the folder but it should be close to that.

This is almost guaranteed to work (if you don't have any other locally installed footstep sounds), as it'll force the lua to override any other footstep sounds that could be playing. Just remember to restart your game and if you want to remove em, you just have to get rid of that folder.

Hope this helped :)

I'm pretty sure I don't have any other mods that could be conflicting, but still possibly just me.

Hm, unfortunately my footstep sounds aren't being changed. I've uninstalled and restarted Gmod but the all sounds remain the same.

Not bad. Very "thud" like.
