BBÖ ET 10 / ÖBB 4041

Beskrivning
In the year 1928 eight single-car EMUs were built for fast regional- end express trains in Austria. These unique railcars mostly operated together with twin-axle coaches, after the war also with four-axle coaches. Their main operation areas were electrified main lines in Upper Austria and the Tyrol. The vehicles were in service until 1973; two of them are preserved.


The main package contains three vehicles which represent the most important operation conditions in their lifetime:


- BBÖ ET 10.003 (1928-1944) in moss green with ornaments and big letters
- ÖBB 4041.08 (1940-1963) in condition after WW2 in blue/beige
- ÖBB 4041.01 (1952-1973) with modernized fronts, new pantographs and upholstered seats


Features:
- Historical correct reproduction of the single operation conditions
- All features of Transport Fever are supported
- Custom, very authentic sound-set

The correct trailer car, ÖBB 7059, is currently in development and will be added soon.

I figured something like that was the case. And in fairness there are niche uses for these cars in-game; metro lines, shuttles, anything that demands extremely short platforms. Just don't let them anywhere near a mainline.

Yes, that was a major problem. Usually they were used as 4041+coach+4041. Comfort was really bad too, as the engines produced a lot of noise and vibrations. However, it was the first experiment with EMUs in Austria ...

Beautifully modeled and an excellent fit for any Austrian mod set.
Gameplay-wise though, I've found these vehicles suffer greatly, especially the early models, from feeling underpowered and have poor acceleration to the point where they just can't compete with equivalent-capacity steam-hauled trains of the same period.

Den Beiwagen gab es für TPF1 (fiktiv), doch nachdem die realen Beiwagen bereits in der deutschen Version verfügbar sind, müssten die nur mehr repaintet werden. Mal schauen ob ich mal dazu komme...
