Introduction
Welcome all!

I love Harvest moon-type games ever since I can remember, living in a farming sim, taking care of your plants and animals, trading, selling, knowing the townsfolk, its all great. Now we have the combat added to it and with Gleaner Heights we have some dark themes that, as a horror fan, I just love.

This guide will help you plan on how to get the most of your playthrough in case you dont want to play 2 or 3 years of the game when trying to go for all 100% of the achievements.

Needless to say, there will be major spoilers ahead. so, I suggest not reading ahead until you play for a couple of days but do read the crop wiki[gleaner-heights.fandom.com] and learn about hidden seeds and crop tiers, you will need to get started right away to get ingredients for the "cook all recipes" achievement.

If you want to avoid having to restart the game to get 100% achievements, set your sexual orientation to Both, you need to marry and do the spousal quests of every romanceable NPC in the game.

I will have you know that there is a time limit to some achievements but its very kind and you will probably going to skip weeks because you already did everything and need to get to a certain year.

At the end of Year 2, an event will happen that will lock you out of several achievements but the time to get to Y2 is so big, you might as well take it easy, you can get those achievements done by Summer or Fall of Year 1 then just focus on the hardest achievement which is to create every cooking recipe.

The problem with that achievement is that you wont have access to some ingredients until you unlock Tier 3 crops and that takes a big while, Ill explain in more detail in its own section.

There are achievements that will need you to reset the day if you want to do all story paths.

You should be fine if you just not save at the end of the day or quit to the main menu and try another choice for the other achievement.

I also want to recommend you check out this guide/spreadsheet, it helped me a lot to figure out the trickiest parts of the game, I thank all the community that made it possible:

Alright, lets get started with some things I learned during my stay that might help your farm life be easier in Gleaner Heights.

Tips and Thoughts
Go to the settings and turn on autorun, so you can stop holding down the damn run button.

When you start out dirt poor, its important to know how you want to spend your first day playing the game, do you want to focus on mining or farming? combat or fishing?

Whatever you choose is totally acceptable, every aspect has its own risks and rewards, but know that every second outside is a second you need to spend wisely as the day will end eventually.

Time
Time is frozen indoors, inside houses or caves so you are only limited here by your stamina.

The day makes you sleep @ 5:00am

Do not be afraid of getting exhausted, the penalty is 50% stamina the next day and while you have 0 stamina, you wont get experience on your skills but if you want to plant and water 100 crops in a single day, its a good investment to get exhausted if you want those tier 2, tier 3 crops in a single season. Wiki on Crops[gleaner-heights.fandom.com]

Fishing
If you are worried about the day ending while fishing, there are two special places where you can fish without time moving forward, one is in the Acid Cave which you can access with an Octotinium Axe by destroying the stump in the forest west (left) of your farm, you will need to get here for several achievements so make getting a blue axe your priority, the final cost of all the upgrades will be 30,000 monies (copper, 5k; gold 10k; octo 15k)

You can get the axe upgraded from the smith, Lazarus, if you speak to him in working hours (see sign outside his house), the ores you can get from the mine, Octotinium being only rarely found in floors 32+

The other place is under the waterfall under by repairing the Pier, it costs 20,000 monies, you can do this by going to the mayor house and using the ledger he has in there.

Friendship Stars
A lot of events, items, crafting makers and even achievements are tied to the level of friendship or romance you have with the townspeople, get started asap on some of these, to read on what each townsfolk likes and gives you as a reward, check out this spreadsheet here: Townsfolk Data[docs.google.com]

On Marriage
Getting married requires you to fully upgrade your house, which costs 150k monies, you also need to have a red heart with the one you want to get hitched with, then buy a wedding ring at the store and give it to him/her.

Once married, your partner can help you with the farm, either feed all the animals, harvest 20 crops or water 20 crops, talk to your partner about this after 22:00 hours in your house.

The automaton
Breaking a floorboard to the right of the workbench with a hammer in the workshed will lead to a secret area where a small robot will see you and run away to the west forest, if you follow him, you will discover a small dungeon and a boss. Defeating the boss and getting the reward is a great boon to you and your farm, so you should try this as soon as you get the Wood Armor set and a copper/gold weapon. If you die, you only lose the day and you can always pause the game if badly hurt and restart the day.

Mining
You will want to befriend Kain ASAP by giving him Fences each day, you will need his Wood Set Armor to get you through the deeper floors of the mine, note that there is a boss on Floor 40, so be careful.

While exploring the mine, you can break the cave walls with your hammer, find herbs to restore stamina and health and find the exit mouse which works like a return teleport to the outside of the mine.

Ladders will always have a special kind of dirt surrounding them, check for this when exploring.

You can go up and down ladders in the mine to reset areas until you find one with green or black herbs, be patient. At level 20, you find a ladder that takes you straight to the entrance, you can use this to start at F20 next time.

The ladder down is surrounded and under walls, most of the time but sometimes, if you see like a lone empty square inside the walls, the ladder to go down might be near that.

The two backpack upgrades that are sold at the general store are super important so you can bring back more stuff from the mines each trip. Even more important that upgrading the hammer.

Get all the Iron you Can
Arrows and Farm Upgrades cost a ton of Iron, 100 Iron will be needed to fully upgrade your farm.
Floor 1 is a great way to grind Iron when you need it.

The trick while mining for the good stuff is to get to Floor 25+ where small robot bombers start to spawn. You can grab the bombs they drop and throw them at walls and it will drop resources, this is a great way to mine for easy cash.

Money and Gear
At the start of the game, defenseless, you can go to some special spots to get quick money and equipment.

To the south of Lee and Mathilda's house (right to the big farm that is south from your own) you will see a withered tree, using a hoe near its base will dig up the clown suit outfit which will give you decent protection.

To the northeast of Tobias' "Keep out" shack (east then north of main square), you will find a circle of rocks, using the hoe here will give you a couple thousand gold.

A pair of chests in the forest west of the hotel (northwest area of the town map), has a Shadow Plum which each gives +5 max stamina when eaten.

Town Upgrades, Sailing and Diving
One day, the mayor will tell you, you can donate and repair stuff around town.
Repairing the well, will give you a small reward from Denny after exploring it.
Repairing the playground will boost everyone's affection towards you.
Repairing the Pier will give you access to a bunch of stuff, the Warlord Set which is better than Wood's, a shadow plum and the smuggler set and money that are behind the waterfall.

If you max your trust with Ken, he will give you plans for a diving suit, once you craft it, you can use it to dive in the sea while sailing, giving you access to a lot of sunken treasure, pearls that respawn every 2 days and stamina boosting food.

Healing Potions and Mushrooms
Unfortunately, to craft healing potions, you need mushrooms and these begin to spawn in Winter, so you wont have easy access to these until then. This is why protection is very important and I suggest you take the perks related to giving you additional protection, they work. Consider getting them instead of extra health.

Other Tips
Cows will have red udders when they need milking.

You can get peanuts for your dynamite as a Tier 1 crop in Spring (see crop wiki for more info).
After you learn the dynamite recipe, peanuts can be dropped by the plant monsters at the mines or near the boars.

When picking Perks, go for Gatherer and Hoarder first, both will help you get more money in the first weeks. If you are finding the enemies hitting hard, get Thick Skin 1 and 2.

Diving for pearls every 2 days is profitable and easier than mining at Floor 32+.
You can get around 10 pearls or so every other day this way.

The clam puzzle gives you an item that grants you +20 max stamina, its a good reward for an annoying puzzle. Notice the direction you interactn with clams, as the clam you are standing on wont open when clicking another clam.

Killing enemies with bombs nets you fighting XP, even if the bombs are from robots.

Friendship and You
Lots of good rewards by befriending townsfolk, to get a 3 star friendship you'll need 90 friendship points, some gifts give more points than others and some gifts are hated by the person and substract FP(Friendship Points).

By talking to a person once a day, you'll get 1 FP, a neutral gift (like a stone) will give you another FP. Some people hate stones, though: Emily, Garry, Matilda, Penny, Valentina, the rest are okay. You can farm easy stones everyday outside the mine.

Consecutive gifts to a person on the same day will be 50% effective (unless you get a perk), so if you give Jun 2 octonium (which he loves), you would get 9 points that day (6+3), the third will give 1 point.

Building the playground as a town project will give you several points with everyone.

Kain likes fences, he is easy to befriend.
The Doctor likes Black Herbs and Jason likes Green Herbs easily farmed at the mines.

Easy achievements, you will get this right quick on your way to unlocking all seed tiers.

Fisherman I
Catch 20 fish

Fisherman II
Catch 60 fish

Fisherman III

Another set of easy achievements, although save your trouts and salmons for cooking recipes since those fish do not appear every season, refer to the spreadsheet to find out more: Fishing Analysis[docs.google.com]

Creme fraiche I
Ship 100 animal products

Creme fraiche II
Ship 500 animal products

Creme fraiche III
Ship 1000 animal products

Only eggs, milk and wool count towards these achievements, derivatives like yarn, butter, cheese and mayonnaise do not count. The fastest way you can get this is by upgrading you chicken coop and get 20 chickens, with 20 eggs per day you should get this in a couple of seasons.

Skill mastery
Reach max level for any skill

You should get this one naturally as you play the game, dont worry about it, by Winter you will have maxed out most of your skills.
Upgrades Achievements
These are unlocked by upgrading things around your farm.

Machinist
Build all machines

You need to build all the makers in your workshop.
You need to befriend different people, at different levels for different makers.
Once they give you the blueprints, you need to craft them.

You need to befriend Alice, Penny, Regina, Bernadette, Martha and Valentina for the machines.
Check the spreadsheet on how to gain their trust: Townsfolk[docs.google.com]

Best place to find Iron is on Floor 1 of the mines, Floor 5 for Copper, Silicon and Quartz on Floor 12+
You can get Fat as an uncommon drop from boars and slimes.

Better home
Upgrade your house

Best home
Fully upgrade your house

You will need to talk to Kain, the Carpenter in his business hours (check sign outside his hut, in a forest northeast of your farm). The first house upgrade costs Wood (60) + Stone (60) + $50,000 and the second upgrade costs Wood (120) + Stone (120) + $100,000.
You need the Best House to get Married and get its achievement.

I now have a Greenhouse
Have a greenhouse built

The greenhouse costs Wood (60) + Iron (50) + $75,000, you can read more about the greenhouse demerits and benefits here: Greenhouse spreadsheet[docs.google.com]

New barn
Upgrade your barn

This lets you have up to 20 animals inside (cows and/or sheep).

New coop
Upgrade your chicken coop

This lets you have up to 20 chickens inside, best way to farm for [ Creme fraiche III ] on your way to sell 1000 animal products.

Blue metal
Upgrade any tool with Octotinium

You can find Octotinium in Floors 32+ in the mine, best to use the robot bombs to mine for these.
A high mining skill will help with the drop rate.
Once you have the ore, take a gold tool to the smith and he will upgrade it to Octo for 15k.

Benefactor
Complete all town upgrades

In the mayor's house, after he tells you that you can donate to improve the town, you can find a project ledger which you can use to buy 3 town upgrades, buying them all will give you this achievement along with access to the blackmail achievements.
Contests Achievements
Chronologically

Golden chicken
Win the chicken contest

[Spring 8] You need a fully trusting chicken (10 hearts) to have a great chance of winning, it has been reported you can still win it with less hearts, you should get a chicken asap and try it on your first year.

Robin Hood
Make a perfect score at the archery contest

[Spring 28] You will get the bow at this date, you can do a perfect 20/20 shot in your first try but an upgraded bow and a couple levels in Bow skill will help for your second try.

They will provide 20 arrows, so you dont have to bring your own.
You can use your upgraded bow.

Every time you reload the day to try again, the targets are randomized so there is no point in memorizing the sequence. You need luck and a little skill, its not that hard, I did it in a dozen or so tries,

Lightning rider
Win the horse race

[Summer 28] If you buy a horse in the middle of spring and use it to go everywhere while running, it should have enough stamina for the race, the longer you run, the faster you go so make sure you run until your stamina is at 25%, recover to almost full, then full sprint again. You have to time this correctly to win, so it might take a couple of tries but its totally doable in Y1.

That was delicious
Win the cooking contest

[Fall 7] Any cooking recipe with 4 or 5 ingredients should win you the contest, reload and try another recipe if it fails. Since the contest is held in early Fall, you will only have access to ingredients from Spring, Summer, the Shop and your animal products, maybe if you are quick enough, some quick growing tier zero fall crops.

I personally won it with spaghetti carbonara which needs cheese and butter as special ingredients but I already had some by this point.

Check the recipes here: Recipes Spreadsheet[docs.google.com]

Golden animal
Win the animal contest

[Winter 7] You need a fully trusting cow or sheep(10 hearts) to have a great chance of winning, totally doable on Y1.
Straightforward Events
These events are pretty safe and straightforward, no need to restart your day to get another outcome or anything.

Saw your abuse
Witness Lee abusing Matilda

For this event to trigger, you need to go to their house between 22:00 and 24:00 hours.
This is probably the first achievement you will get.
Their house is to the southwest from the main square, right from the big farm.

The good wine
Witness Alice drunk

To unlock this event, you need to get Michael to 1 star so he trusts you enough to tell you about Alice's addiction.

Easiest way is to gift him Silver since you will be mining a lot, you can also give him meat from boars you can hunt at the west forest.

Once that done, go west of the town's square at 21:00 hours, this might only trigger on a saturday but Im not sure. You will see Alice drunk then, and the achievement will unlock.

Do this before the end of year 2 since an event might make Alice unavailable for this, the sooner you get this, the better.

Debt? What debt?
Help Garry and Regina pay their debt

After having a two star friendship with either Garry or Regina (or maybe both?) go to their house between 19:00 and 21:00.
That will unlock the achievement.

If you go inside and talk to them you will have three choices: Just chat, talk about the debt or to not talk about the debt.

Just chat works like a normal talk interaction.
If you decide to talk about the debt and have 10000 monies, you can pay their debts and they will be grateful, you can unlock the siblings as romance partners.

Choosing the option to not talk about the debt will permanently remove the choices and you wont be able to help them.

Walking away with just chatting or not having enough money, will postpone this until you decide what to do.

Forbidden passions
Witness James' and Bernadette's affair

To trigger this even, you need to befriend Robert at least 1 star, maybe two.

Then, on a Saturday, go to their Farm at around 17:30 and you will witness the scene and the achievement will unlock.

If you decide to talk to Robert, he will ask you for advice.
If you tell him to divorce, he will be available for romance.

A whole new life
Get married

You need to upgrade your house two times, get someone romanceable to full hearts and gift them a wedding ring. Your spouse can help a little with your farm but not as cool as the automaton.

Mushroom dealer
Bring a mushroom to Lee

Mushroom only grow in Winter as foraging items which then you can cultivate in a cave close to your house. You also need a 3 star friendship with Lee.
You need Lee to be alive until Winter so you can sell him the mushrooms.
The Villa
These are triggered when you enter a specific area in the game.

Oh no I'm in
Get inside the Villa

In the southeastern corner of the town map is a cave blocked by vines.
These vines regenerate if you try to slash them, to open the cave you will need acid.

To get access to the Acid Cave where you can use your watering pot tool to fill it with acid, you need to destroy an old tree stump in the western forest, where the hedgehogs are (southeastern part of western forest).

To destroy the stump, you need an Octotinium Axe which can be upgraded at the blacksmith, from normal to copper, from copper to gold and from gold to octotimium.
You will need 30,000 monies to fully upgrade a tool and one ore of each (copper, gold, octotinium)

Once you use the acid to open the cave, go in and get through to the other side, dont worry, there are no enemies here. Once you enter the villa's basement, the achievement should unlock.

In pace requiescat
Discover Hermaeus Faradouchi's resting place

Once inside the villa, use your hammer to destroy the middle wall in the second room of the villa, the room where the old wine barrels are, enter the room and the achievement will pop.

Bosses Achievements
From easiest to hardest

For most of these, a gold hammer will do just fine along with Wood Armor Set.

To unlock the wood armor set, befriend Kain, the lumberjack (NE from your farm, in the small forest) by giving him Fences or Gold which he likes, he loves Boar Hides which you can get in the forest west of your farm from, well, boars. (rare drop)

To craft a gold hammer, you need to first have copper and your regular hammer in your inventory and 5k monies. (Which you can get by mining) then visit Lazarus SW from your farm in a wooden cabin, he is the blacksmith. After you get the Copper Hammer, return to him with 1 piece of gold and 10k monies.

Write that in your diary
Defeat the Mole King

He is the boss at Floor 40 of the mine, pretty straightforward, he summons enemies and causes rocks to fall from the ceiling along with a slash if you get too close, shouldnt be hard with Wood or Warlord Sets.

Ruined sentinel
Defeat the Automaton Knight

This boss is a special one since you can only unlock him if you know of the hidden basement below your workshop.

The workshop is the building north from the watering hole in your farm, where a crafting table is located. To the right of the table, you will see something strange in the floor, smash it with your hammer to reveal a hidden ladder.

Go down and find a small robot which will quickly run away, follow him.

The robot will open a new cave in the forest west of your farm, inside you will have to defeat all enemies in a room so the next door opens and you can proceed, you can get a treasure chest with money and a healing potion before the fight.

Once ready, go into the cave and fight your way through, the knight has several attacks which you can read on here: https://gleaner-heights.fandom.com/wiki/Automaton_Knight

Beat that blobber
Defeat the Slime Lord

The Slime Lord can be found in the Boar Cave in the West Forest, to get to him you will need an Octotunium Hammer which can be upgraded at the blacksmith

The boss is undefeatable without acid, so dont go fight him until you have access to the acid cave.

To get access to the Acid Cave where you can use your watering pot tool to fill it with acid, you need to destroy an old tree stump in the western forest, where the hedgehogs are (southeastern part of western forest) you will need an Octotinium Axe which, you guessed it, will also cost the same bunch of money and resources as the hammer.

Once you have your watering tool full of acid, you can go fight the Slime Lord.

After you damage him enough, he will begin to boil and bubble to regenerate, to stop him, quickly change your weapon to the watering tool with acid and pour some of it into the boss.

Repeat this until you kill it, achievement unlocked!

Made it walk straight
Defeat the Last Smuggler

The Last Smuggler is an underwater boss that can be found in a cave reachable only you have access to the boat and the diving suit.

First, you need to go to the mayor's house and look at the project ledger, choose to repair the Pier, this will cost 20,000 monies.

Second, you need a Diving suit, you need to befriend Ken to maximum level so he gives you the blueprints to craft a diving suit.

Once you have the plans, you need to craft it, you will need:
(20) iron, (14) copper, (4) fat, (2) quartz
You can get fat from slimes and boars, they are an uncommon drop, the other ingredients from the mine or robot enemies.

Once you have the diver's suit, go to the pier (south of the mine) and get on the boat, sail left towards the waterfall and go to the NW corner, you should be on the patch of water between the lumberjack's house and the waterfall. Dive here and you will see a cave, adjust your position so when you dive, you fall nearby the cave entrance.

If you miss the dive, cancel and try again. To cancel, press the C key or the back button on the controller.

Once inside, move through a couple of easy areas and then get ready for a fight.
The fight is pretty straightforward, just hit it in the head until it dies, heal with black herbs from the mine if you need to.

Storyline Bosses [Story Spoilers Ahead]

A scammer darkly
Give the tattered journal to Denny.

To get the journal, you need to find it in the depths of the Villa
Denny will ask you to meet him at the clearing south of the church yard (where the statue is) around midnight.

Denny will leave forever after Year 2, so this achievement and the ones after this, are time sensitive.
Then again, it takes a looooooooong time to get to the end of year 2, so you shouldnt worry too much.

*Note: Grab the blue stone as the next day starts, you will have dropped it nearby inside your house, looks like you cant eat that croissant while you had it, so you dropped it :P
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11yTBHkzmTg&t=344

Annie's fine
Defeat Evil Agent

That was me
Defeat yourself

These two achievements depend on whether you are a sinner or an innocent.

Once you have the stone from Denny, you need to go to the sealed cave.
To unseal the cave, you need dynamite which is a 3 star friendship recipe you get from Tobias, so make sure you get it from him before you decide to let him die.

You can get a peanut to craft the dynamite as a rare drop from plant monsters you see deep in the mine or at the boar cave in the western forest.

Put the dynamite near the sealed cave and a cutscene will trigger, go inside and carry the stone above your head, head to the northeast walls and a door will appear.

Go into the door and after a short examination of a mysterious pool, a fight will commence!
If you are sinless, you will fight The Agent.
If you have commited at least two sins, you will fight yourself.
To see how to Sin or how to avoid sinning, check the next section.

The dream is over
Defeat the dream that dreams us

The final boss of the game, you will fight the dreamer after you fight with the agent or yourself in the sealed cave, the dreamer fight happens regardless of how many sins you have.

Here is a video showing you how to get to the fight and the sinful ending:
https://youtu.be/KrFcgbbZY2U
Multiple Outcome Achievements
For these, you might want to achieve one of them, pause the game, exit to menu and try the other one so you can get all the achievements in one playthrough.

Major Spoilers Ahead

Lee

Abuse no more
Overpower Lee

Husband killer
Murder Lee

After triggering the event from [Saw your abuse], you need to get Matilda's friendship heart to max level.Building the playground increases everyone's trust, so if you have cash to spare, you might want to build that by using the ledger of projects in the mayor's office.

Since a kitchen will be too expensive, your best bet to get this done quick is to mine for resources in the mine that is located to the northeast of the town, emeralds and zircons are abundant past Floor 30.

If you are not powerful enough, just gift her anything that she does not hate for the time being.
Once she has her first star, talk to her while she is in the town center near the fountain, she will hint that she needs help.

Continue with the gifts until she has 3 stars and then talk to her again outside her house, she will ask for help.

If you refuse here, you wont be able to unlock any of the achievements.

Agree to meet her at night, go to her house between 20:00 and 21:00 hours, the key is being at her house without Lee being around.

You will have a choice, if you decide to stay inside the closet , you wont be able to unlock the achievements.

A fight will ensue, if you have decent protection: Wood Set or Warlord Set, anything above 50, he wont be able to harm you much.

  • Once the fight is over, leave to get [Abuse No More].
  • If you hit him again, you will kill him and get [Husband killer] instead.

If you decide to kill Lee before Winter, you wont be able to get [Mushroom dealer]

Killing Lee will give you a sin.

Dont worry, after the plot continues, you will be asked if you want to save the game, if you still need the other achievement, choose No and start the day over to get the other achievement.

Tobias

I've got you there
Save Tobias

Goodbye old fool
Murder Tobias

During Summer, wait until night, around 21:00 and go to the front of the hotel, Tobias will be in trouble.

  • If you help him by interacting with the rope, you will get the achievement [I've got you there]
  • If you use a tool to HIT on the rope/log instead, Tobias will fall to his death and you will get [Goodbye old fool]

If you decide to kill Tobias without having 3 stars with him and getting the dynamite recipe, you wont be able to get the game's ending.

Killing Tobias will give you a sin.

Side with Kain

To get the vial, you need to have 2 friendship stars with Mei, Ken and Lazarus, then, on a Fall Night after the cooking contest day, go at night to Lazarus home then go out, Kain will drop the vial, after you get the vial, go to the Doctor so he can examine it.

From there, you can choose to give the vial to Kain and get this achievement.

  • If you give the vial to Lazarus, you get [No more poison]
  • Give the Vial to Kain for 10,000 monies and a Sin and [Kain and abel]

You can choose to exit to main menu and restart the game to get the other achievement.
Master Chef

Master Chef
Cook every possible food

Now for the hardest achievement, the one that needs its own section.

To pull this off, you will need to cook more than 100 recipes in your kitchen.
You can get a kitchen once you upgrade your house for the first time.

The problem here are the ingredients, some ingredients come only from tier 3 seeds which need you to sell 150 of tier 2 crops which need you to sell 100 of tier 1 crops which need you to sell 50 of normal crops. Yeah.. its gonna take time.

The exceptions to those are spinach and watermelon which you can only get by befriending Jun.

Thankfully, the T3 crops are only for Spring and Summer, so you dont have to worry about shipping so much in Fall or Winter, the first two seasons are the tough ones.

We have two tools to plan this, first the recipe spreadsheet[docs.google.com].

We also have the crop wiki[gleaner-heights.fandom.com] to check on how long it takes a crop to grow, and the name of the crops in each tier, etc.

So, here is the breakdown of the minimum of days each season to unlock all seeds:

It is pretty doable in the first year but you will be cutting it close, specially in summer, the first day you plant the seed does not count for this, so you need to start counting from Night 2 and if you want those pineapples, summer will be your challenge.

Upgrade your watercan to at least gold, the final days of a season is a good time to do this.
The gold watercan will let you water six squares infront of you in a 3x2 shape, the blue watercan lets you water 3x3 squares infront of you.

Getting the automaton will help, he can water up to 200 crops, give or take, he sweeps the field from far left to right and then from top to bottom. He ceases to water/harvest at 18:00.

Building the greenhouse is a good method of selling those crops you werent able to sell to their requirement limit before the next year season comes.

Getting max friendship from Gerry will give you a boost of 10% more watercan capacity.
This will make the blue watercan go from 54 cap to 59.

Here is a breakdown of the ingredients you will need to cook all known recipes, store +3 of every ingredient in case the recipe goes wrong or I miscounted.

There is a recipe that requires any 3 fruits.
Fruits are the ones you can blend, they must be different.

You will need Grapes for the two Wine recipes.
Salmon, Mackerel and Trout only caught on a certain place & Season check the spreadsheet, Fishing tab.
The blue fishing pole gives you a better chance of catching those unique fish.

As you unlock a new crop, wait for a new day then cook a recipe with it and go down the list that way, you will always cook something new.

2nd Season (DLC)
22 more achievements were added for Season 2.

According to this thread:
https://steamproxy.com/app/786580/discussions/0/3194741517070380572/

Spouse quests begin (almost) immediately, even before Year 2.

Pigs/flowers/sprinklers are available at the start of Year 2.

Main plot/related areas and new people become available during the first 2 months of Year 3.

There are a lot of money sinks related to the main plot so the Year before Year 3 is good for money-making.

In addition, the "bad outcome" of the "main plot" of the vanilla game ultimately happens at the end of Year 2. The main plots of the vanilla game and the DLC should not overlap, no matter how and when players handle them.

Check out this guide for more info:
https://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2820013324

Edna, Kranf, Chad and Chadette are new NPCs part of this DLC.

Distant Romanceable NPCs
After Chad and Chadette move in, you might get an event about a love interest being distant and their heart meter will go down and that you should investigate.
Spoiler:
Seek them in the town's square at night(20:00+), this event will repeat until you go to Chad/ette's house right after this event and go down the hatch. The hatch is under the rug, south of the couch, to the left of the entrance and will only be open after you follow chad or chadette after the town square event. I havent facedpalmed this hard in so long, lol.

The reward is a potion that makes it possible to remarry a divorced townsfolk but you need Apple Cider, which recipe is gotten from Alice, so you should get that recipe before she leaves town, so yeah.I suggest you save some apple cider if you plan to remarry, dont worry, after using the potion the divorced person will like you again and have the same heart level as before.

Pigs and Sprinklers
As soon as Year 2 starts, youll have these two things availabel to you.
Ive read baby pigs might be bugged and never grow up, so be careful with that.

As for sprinklers, you buy the schematics at the general store for 18,000 gold, to use them, just consume the schematics as if they were food. Then go to the workshop and craft them, you'll need tons of Iron and Copper for each one. (20 iron, 5 copper, 1 quartz, 5000 monies)

Each sprinkler waters the 8 squares around them.

Celsus or Tristana?
If you give the book to Celsus you get an offensive perk that is more damaging the more sinful you are, Tristana will give you a perk to have a chance to recover stamina after a kill when you talk to her in the tower world.
Spouse Achievements (DLC)
Talk to your spouse at your house and they will ask you for something special, deliver and get the achievement. It takes at least one season for the quest to be asked for or triggered, you cant just marry them and get the quest the next day.

If you didnt set your orientation to Both at character creation, you'll need to restart the game with the other "like" option if you want to romance the other npcs.

See section above if spouse is distant.

Most of these quests need Season 2 content, so you wont be able to do them until late Year 2 possibly mid Year 3 but some are Year 1 doable.

The hardest part of these quests were giving out the divorce papers.. ugh :(

A beautiful flower
Complete Regina's spouse quest (Season 2)

*You need Edna in town.

One morning, Regina told me about the flower she dreamt, this happened the day after I solved the Chad event and Tristana came to my house, not sure if coincidence or not, I married Regina early Fall Year 2 and she finally gave me her quest late Spring Year 3. She tells you this right after waking up, no need to talk to her every day or anything.

She wants an Optasia Flower that grows in Fall, so you cant do this quest until that season, the flower can be found at the west side of the west forest, it only appears after Regina tells you about it.

You can find the flower north of the lake in the West Forest.

Connecting people
Complete Mei's spouse quest (Season 2)

Married her in mid Spring and got the quest the first day of Fall.
*You need Edna in town.

You need to give Jun and Edna things they like, gifts, then go back to Mei and talk to her at home, this is important, since talking to her outside wont begin or continue this quest.
Give the gift as normal but this time, a prompt will appear telling the person its from another, do si with both and return to Mei. I gave jun a power Cell and Edna a Nightflower.
As a reward, you will get a discount at the general store.

Game tester
Complete Michael's spouse quest (Season 2)

Married: Winter 7, Y2
Quest: Summer 23, Y3

To make Michael romanceable, befriend him or Alice and watch Alice drop something at the town square at night, give the item to Michael and he will be romanceable, or wait until Alice leaves at the end of Year 2.

Anyway, one morning an event will trigger where he setups a computer for you to play his videogame, the PC is southeast of the bed in the bedroom, complete this task.

The game is actually decent, most enemies dont drop anything when killed so its better just to dodge them, except the robots, they drop hearts which heal you for 4 hearts. Good luck!

Gem of a husband
Complete Ken's spouse quest (Season 2)

Married: Summer 12, Y1
Quest: Fall 15, Y1

Talked to Ken besides the bed (I wanted to tell him to water crops), he asked me to find Bixibite down at the mines, a very rare crystal that doesnt spawn until you get this quest, I found one at level 39 using bombs on my 2nd try. It looks like a red ruby circle with a red cross on it.
As a reward Bixbites will now spawn more often at the mines.

Here is some fish
Complete Garry's spouse quest (Season 2)

Married: Winter 22, Y1
Quest: Summer 25, Y2

One morning Garry will talk to you about wanting to learn to fish.
The next Sunday go to the lake near the woodsman house around noon.
I fished 33 times, from 12:00 to 17:30 until he was satisfied.
As a reward he said he was going to fish starting next Sunday, I didnt wait to find out but Im guessing he would give you free fish from now on.

Letting steam off
Complete Robert's spouse quest (Season 2)

Married: Fall 17, Y1
Quest: Winter 17, Y1
To unlock Robert, you must see his wife's affair then tell him to divorce her.
One morning instead of asking me if I slept well, he said to talk to James, we did and that's it, easiest quest. Your reward are mining boots which give mine monsters a chance to drop ores when killed.

You are under arrest
Complete Gabriel's spouse quest (Season 2)

Married: Fall 2, Y2
Quest: Winter 3, Y2

One morning you will vbe waken up by screams outside, a crime happened and YOU have to figure out who did it, cuz, Gabriel isnt that good of a detective.
The criminal is:Go at night to the hospital to find the culprit
Your reward is an item that when in your inventory, will reduce the cost of dodging rolls by 20%.

Tasty jelly
Complete Fiona's spouse quest (Season 2)

She wants a purple gelatin, you can find purple jelly as a drop from the purple slimes at the mines or the boar cave in the West Forest.
Put the jelly in your hands then talk to her to give the item and get the achievement.
The jelly wont be dropped from the slimes until you start this quest. I cant confirm this but im pretty sure you can do this quest in year 1, the reward is a recipe for a good stamina recovery food.

This shop is closed
Complete Emily's spouse quest (Season 2)

Married: Spring 25, Y4
Quest: Fall 20, Y4
*You need Kramf in town.

One morning, during a cutscene, Emily will talk to you about some investigating you need to do.
Go to the north forest, west of the hotel and a little to the right of where the rift and two treasure chests are, you'll find some stairs down, go in and take care of business.

The reward for this quest is amazing and I dont want to spoil anything, haha!

Treating Matilda
Complete Matilda's spouse quest (Season 2)

Married: Fall 15, Y3
Quest: Spring 24, Y4
One morning Matilda will be sick and an event will automatically trigger, the Doctor will come and give you a recipe, you can create the extract or if you read this guide and kept the goldberry extract you found in Tower World, give it to her now to complete this achievement.

If you didnt keep the extract, you can cook one but you'll need a goldberry.
Goldberry can be found at the very top of the summit. It only appears on Sundays during Summer, Chadette will also give you one when you reach 2 stars with her.

It's not you
Divorce a spouse

You can buy Divorce papers at the general store for 90 monies.
DLC Rifts and Tower World
The Rifts

Planeswalker
Complete all rifts (Season 2)

This content starts after going to sleep late Spring Y3, Edna and the Chads were already in town before The Gentleman showed up, a few days after he comes, after you go to bed, Tristana will show up asking for the same thing.

After the earthquake event, a small hole will open north of the small area with the worms north of the entrance of the forest that lies west of your farm. I call this place the crypt. Killing all enemies will open doors and you will eventually face a boss which will give you the Grimoire, deliver it to your chosen ally, the gentleman or the woman to trigger the event a few days later (3 to 5 days later) that open the rifts. You will be woken up by this event. To end the event, you need to go to the church, the way there is a labyrinth sortof, but its not that hard. After the church, go find the guy in a zone west of where you land and return home, you can see how many days you have left by looking at your home calendar.

Now you'll learn several recipes, you'll need tons of iron and gold and monies as well as crystals.

To open a rift portal, you need to shoot it with the Wand of Ze, that's the tool the guy gave you, but you need to be a few steps away from the portal in order for the ball of magic to shoot out and open the rift. You can only open one rift a day. if the rift looks yellow, it means there is a crystal inside, when you get the shard, it will turn blue/green.

The achievement will pop as soon as you grab the last crystal at the end of the last rift you clear.
There are 4x9 crystals in 37 rifts in total to clear for the achievement.

Check out this guide for the list of rifts and their locations:
https://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2820013324

I suggest your first rift to be the one in your farm, next to the mushroom cave, talking to your ally will give you a perk and you can explore the tower world more throughly, even finding a merchant that can upgrade your stuff, the skull gates will now open since you have the wand now.

You will find some pedestals like this:

Activate these shortcuts using a diode shard on the circle, not a crystal.

SE from the skull cave (check Grimaldi section), you'll find a goldberry extract, save this for a spouse quest. i suggest you dont sell ANY of the items you find in chests around here, they might come in handy later.

Closeby, NE of the skull cave, you will find a merchant, he sells arrows, iron, gold, copper, silver, diamonds and even bombs, super useful for crafting without speding too much time at the mines for resources. You only need 1 Vulpurite per tool upgrade and tons of monies, find that special ore by defeating bosses. You need the vulpurite in your inventory to upgrade tools here.
I suggest you upgrade the hammer first to grab shards from the rocks outside the skull cave near the merchant and to upgrade your fighting power, then maybe the hoe to go treasure hunting on the desert fields.

If you go west from the western skull gate then north then west to a new zone then north into a cave you'll find a gated exit north, kill the 3 demonds in here to proceed then defeat the boss, patience is key in the boss fight, past him, in the desert there is a chest to the west with a Shadow Plum.

North in this desert there is a field you can find treasure at but you will need an upgraded hoe from the merchant and north of the field there are the Catacombs. In the field you can find a plum and the berserker pants which will be needed for a race in the rift close to Tristana's camp.

You can read more info on this Tower World in the Boss section.

Rifts
I'll note down some interesting things to note about rifts here.
Some rifts are in futuristic places, if youre bad at platformers youre gonna hate those places, haha!
Some rifts are just plain exposition and you can go in and get a free crystal.
Other rifts feature an annoying old man which will kick you out the rift for the day if you answer wrong, i justusually restart the day if that happens.

Needed Items:
Good to have in inventory, for puzzles/quests.
Pineapple, 6 Eggs, Apple, Gold Ore, Boar Hide, Explosive Arrows(2 or 3), Normal Arrows(4-10), Milk

Futuristic Rifts
You can find some dynamite in the rift which is in the tunnel that connects the pier/mines to Tobias home, you can also get some future boots here but I dont know if they do anything special.

The future suit is in the rift in the workshop inside a cave behind the gravestone in your farm.

The future helmet is in the lake island rift in the west forest, here is a boss called mainframe, to beat him, wait until he fires misiles, then use a console for a platform minigame, if done correctly, a panel will open, hit the panel before it closes again, repeat until dead.

The future pants is in the boar cave rift, inside the cave on the east side.
Wearing all 4 future clothes will activate the set which will give you speed like the swiftskin boots and a protective shield that absorbs any damage for 1 hit.

Ruins Rifts
The rift near Tristana's camp has a race puzzle, (Swiftskin boots or Future set) and (Berserker pants or Sunglasses from Chadette) are needed here.

Martha's House Rift has Google Helmet.

Waterfall Cave has Vulpurite Ore in a chest.

James/Lodge Rift - Hammer, Sickle, Hoe

Bernadette's Rift - Gold Ore, Boar Hide, Apple

Old Man Rifts (Aghariphus)
Alice/Michael Rift - Gleaner Heights, Spring
Restaurant - no, but I brought one! -> Have Pineapple in inventory

Other Rifts
Underwater Cave - Use dynamite or explosive arrows to break the ice, you WILL get a Sin though, no alternatives.

Dilapated Villa Red Rift - Golden Crown, excellent headgear, cant be confused.

Down the stump hole in the West Forest, 1st Rift = Vulpurite Ore
North Forest Bell Puzzle (West of Lodge) = Vulpurite Ore, drop an item in the room after ringing bell to mark that its been rung.

West Forest South Rift (Pushbox Puzzle)

NorthEast Forest (E of Lodge) Smuggler Camp Rift - Wear all 4 Smuggler clothing then find spyglass in the small pier here.

West Zone of the Forest of the 2nd Dock, east of town - You will need at least 4 arrows, bring more though, to pass archery tests in the Rift.
DLC Bosses and Endings
Battle Achievements
These are mostly fought as you go through Season 2's story which starts around year 3, you will need to open the portals before going to find any of these (see section above).
these bosses will reward you with Vulpurite which is needed for crafting and upgrades.
After each boss fight, you will be returned to the real world and will have to wait one day to use the wand again.

Remember:
To activate levers, you have to hit them, not just interact button.
Some closed doors only open when all enemies in the room are defeated.

Godless
Defeat Berengar (Season 2)

In the catacombs (see section above) you'll need explosive arrows and bombs, be sure to bring some. There is a bomb in a chest in here but its best to bring a couple.
In the room where there is a pressure plate that makes a lever appear, you'll need to place the bomb near the hole where the lever will come up, then quickly go back to the plate to lift the lever up. On another room, you just need to shoot at a lever from across a chasm, proceed down a hole and fight the boss, he is very easy, just hit him after he stops attacking.

Heart of gold
Defeat Grimaldi (Season 2)

To the west of the western area, at the end of the path, you'll see a giant skull.
Inside, enemies and puzzles, of note, some Shadow Clam Meat which will give you +20 Max HP, this item is hidden behind the south wall of a room with 2 chests past a bridge if you take the west path from the locked door. Unlocking the door will lead you to this boss fight, bring potions. Focus on dodging, he will spit out a ruby, after a while he will spit a giant coin into the ceiling which will fall in a few seconds, this is your chance to get close to the ruby so the coin breaks it wjen it tries to fall on you! If you do this same tactic when the heart is out, the giant coin will do a large amount of damage to the heart, so lure the coin near the ruby/heart then dodge!

Not my captain
Defeat Abraham (Season 2)

To the east of the starting zone of Tower world, you will find a cave to the Southeast, this is the water cave, at the end of it, the statue of a woman is there, you will need to fish in the pond for an anchor then put the anchor on the statue to proceed, you DO NOT need the Vulpirte fishing rod for this.

When he goes underwater you can dodge/roll the wave he makes, hit him when he surfaces, repeat until you win, oh yeah, when his ghost appears, bring your Dodge A-game, it gets tricky.. or just quaff your health potions.

The anvil is silent
Defeat Brutus (Season 2)

To the east in Tower World, past the skull gate, you will find a dry patch of land with a hollow trunk, use the octo axe to remove it and go down the hole, inside this Lava Cave, you'll find mirror puzzles and a few enemies, here is Brutus, he attacks with fire and you can dodge his fire waves and fire balls, time your attacks right and he shouldnt be a problem.

Total victory
Defeat the Nightmare (Season 2)

To open the tower, you will need to craft keys which need shards that can be got from the stones that spawn near the skull cave every day, you will need an upgraded Vulperite hammer for this.

You can also get crystals as rewards for closing other rifts in town, not just crafting them, so craft the crystals only if you need more for any keys you are missing. But use your day to close rifts for the achievement instead of farming the rocks, after clearing all rifts you should have 7 extra crystals.

You will need 30 keys to unlock the tower, its west, north past the skull gate, east then northeast. Each key needs 10000 monies and 1 gold ore to craft.. it'll be expensive.

There are two fights, you can use explosive arrows to quickly kill the dude, bring potions and good dodges, the battles are not that hard, if you have the future gear set, it will be easier.

IF you defeat the nightmare, you wont be able to get any of the other ending achievements (see endings section below), so dont save the game after defeating him, get the achievement, exit to menu and continue until the end of the 200 days.

I didnt see the good ending, since the time travel ending overwrote my savefile, but maybe someday if I decide to replay this.

Season 2 Main Story Endings|
These 3 achievements are done through your decisions on the final day of Season 2.
You can get all endings IF you leave Time Travel for LAST.

Basically, you'll want to beat the Nightmare, get that achievement and then when asked, DONT save the game. Exit to main menu and continue the game until there are 0 days left in the calendar that counts down for the time limit.

That day, 0 day, go to bed WITHOUT saving, pick either the Sacrifice or the Suffering ending, get the achievement and when asked, DONT SAVE, exit to menu, continue, go to bed without saving, pick the other, dont save, go to menu, THEN pick Time Travel, when you pick Time Travel, your savefile will get automatically overwritten to the checkpoint, so you cant go back and do the Nightmare good ending unless you replay the whole 200 days. It's a doozy.

Another thing you could do is to speedrun the 200 days by just going to bed everyday after you get the deadline and get the Suffering/Sacrifice/Time Travel achievements first, then play the 200 days as normal and go for the Nightmare ending. Up to you.

A few days after meeting Cesius, Jun will come by telling you he has a motorcycle for sale, he will give you a picture, the picture will be at your feet in the kitchen after the cutscene, take this picture to him and give it to him behind the counter to buy the bike for 10,000 monies.

How meat is made
Slaughter a pig (Season 2)

After you wake up, Bernadette will come by and tell you they now sell pigs, go ahead and buy one, the next day, Kain will come and tell you about building a slaughterhouse, man, they really make you beg for it. It will need 30 wood, 30 iron and 20,000 monies.
After its built, there will be a new small room inside your barn, lead your pig there.
to move your pig, get near it and hold down the interact button, then move without letting go of the button. Once the pig is in the room, use the table to butcher and you'll get the achievement, you monster.
Outro
Well, I hope this guide helped you in some way, I really enjoyed the game enough to make a guide for it.

If you have any questions or want to add something to the guide, leave a comment.

If someone ever finds what the Perfect Sphere the theatre man gives you is used for, do let me know, I am curious. I wanted to try having four sins and going into the evil battle but I was too lazy to start over.

Thank you for reading!

@Hoss sorry for the late, late reply, I recently got back into the game to 100% it again, anyway, not sure what you need, Since I had to restart the game, Ill try and trigger the event and add some more data.
Hosscatt 15 Jul, 2023 @ 11:40am
Know its been awhile since you played but I cannot seem to trigger the whole mayor blackmail event. I have done the three community projects, and have stalked the mayor from morning until night but nothing triggers the event. Do you know if it needs to be in a certain season? I did the upgrades in year one and am now on year 2 so I hope it didn't need to be initiated sooner...
