Miniguide to beat Bioshock infinite in any mode
By Astronema
This guide will help you beat bioshock infinite on 1999 mode with minimal death.
I will only mention about things you need to do.

Infusion:
* Maxing Salt and Shield first is the better choice. In harder difficulties, vigor beats enemies, not your gun.
* Leave health until you have maxed shield and salt. Shield regen overtime , health isn't.

Gun:
* Shotgun is a must-have ( you should upgrade whenever possible )
* Volleygun is the best choice in dealing with hard-hitter (the crow guy , fire guy ,patriot and handyman) and horde of enemies because it makes them stumble and unable to attack.
* You can choose the secondary weapon (Whatever you like , it usually do not matter)

Vigors:
* Possession is your main weapon. Save your money to buy "Possesion for Less" upgrade. After that , the hard part of the game is over.

* Devil's kiss is your main boss-dealing weapon, max it.

* Shock Jockey is your main disable later on, max it. ( shock-chain is a must-have upgrade )

* Return to Sender is useful in many situation, but it comes very late in the game. Buy only "Return for Less" upgrade.

* Murder of Crows is your main weapon when dealing with Handyman. It deals decent damage at easy mode, but minimal in hard+. Also, it is useless against crow guy and patriot. Upgrade only the " Crow boost ".

* Charge is very important when dealing with Lady Comstock (the Siren). Do not upgrade.

* Bronco is decent early when dealing with crow guy and fireman. Do not upgrade.

* Undertow is only useful in knocking enemy outside columbia (easy kill, but no loot) and dealing with sniper. Do not upgrade anything/ Upgrade the "Undertow boost".

Overall gameplay :
* Use Possession first on any enemy / turret / the machinegun on balloon thing ( the strongest one if you can ) to draw fire away from you. Come out of cover to shoot / do whatever you like. Maxing possession = first priority. Re-use possession whenever you got shot again.
* Occasionaly tossing out devil's kiss .

Dealing with special enemies:

* Rocket/ volleygun guy (beast)
Dont bother try to headshot them , they got helmet. Just use Possession.

* Sniper
Gun them down with sniper rifle/ Possess them/ use undertow to pull them over and kill.

* Patriot
Kill other enemies first with anything you got. Save enough salt for 5-6 shock bolt. Just keep them shocked and unleash your shotgun on them until they die.
Plus some occasionaly devil's kiss.
The first patriot (before you got Shock Jockey) can be easily killed by stacking fire traps before he spawns.

* Zealot
Use Bronco to them and gun them down. They cant do anything when Bronco-ed.
Fire traps are also useful. Create a fire trap and run work with most enemies.

* Fireman
Dodge the fireballs. When they come near and try to suicide, Bronco them up.

* Handyman
Hardest enemies in the game. Kill all enemies nearby before battling Handyman if you can. There are two way to deal with them
- Crow + Devil's kiss + Shotgun/ volleygun : stun them by use crow continuously, rain fire and lead down on them.
- Return to Sender + Devil's kiss + Shotgun : shield the damage by Return to sender , man up with them by shotgun, shot their heart.
Equip Handyman Nemesis gear if you have it. Maintain a healthy distance by use sky-rail or running. Shot their heart.
You can also leap-drop continuously on sky-lines to distract them.

* Boys of Silence
Shock the minions and kill them by shotgun/devil's kiss.

* Siren/Lady Comstock
Charge her to disable her immediately. Spam shotgun and devil's kiss on her till she's dead.
If she managed to summon a horde , use fire trap on her. Its big area of effects will incinerate everything in the radius.
OR YOU CAN JUST USE MULTIPLE DEVIL"S KISS TRAPS ON THE SPOT THAT SHE WILL SPAWN. EASY KILL.

Gear:

They does not matter much because you can only equip 4 of them, and 80% of them are useless (the useless one are all about sky-railing and meleeing. Things like that are hard to do and usually get you killed)

Some useful gear:

Urgent Care
Fleet Feet
Handyman Nemesis
Bullet Boon
Ammo Advantage
Sheltered Life

Tears:
Summon / resummon regularly things you need(Summon Turret => Turret Destroyed => Summon other things => Resummon turret)

There's an interesting glitch on the skylines, if Elizabeth is also on the skyline between you and the handyman, the handyman will soft lock and be unable to do anything meaning you can patiently kill him while you are hanging.

Interesting guide. While most of this information is helpful, there are multiple points that are straight up counter-intuitive and well, bad. This guide will get you through easy and normal for sure. Idk about hard mode and definitely not 1999.

Melee is not hard to do at all, even in hard mode, disables almost all types on enemies or just kills them in one shot with melee gear (which you'll get right at the beginning if you own all DLC). It is in many situations the most powerful offensive tool in the game.

If you find the gear Brittle Skinned (or Electric Touch if unlucky) and Blood to Salt you should get the the shield restore and invulnerability upgrade for Charge and the game becomes easy mode even on 1999 mode. Add Vampire's Embrace and some melee booster or Rising Bloodlust in the head-slot and and the game becomes a cheese fest. The only time you die is if you get stuck on a hock for a moment because of the wonky and forced camera movement. Sometimes you will die if you get really unlucky with salts or you somehow fail to charge enough when there is plenty of enemies around that burst you down. You can just keep spamming charge and if you ever get hurt enough to take health damage you can melee kill some trash units. Even handymen and the siren is a complete joke. Even without either Brittle Skinned or Blood to Salt it is a pretty strong combo. Without any of them you don't really bother with relying on charge however. Then it is probably better to go the Storm and Overkill route.

The Hand Cannon is a better choice then the Shotgun in my opinion. The HC deals almost the same damage, has higher damage per clip, a shorter reload time and it has a much longer effective range. The only important edge the shotgun have is damage. But with Brittle skin that extra damage will be overkill anyway and you quickly loose that damage edge every time you move out of point blank and can not land every single pellet in the critical spot of the enemy. The not upgraded Shotgun may be better than the not upgraded HC. The Volley Gun is usually my second choice as well for all the same reason as you mentioned. Your guide works better all around probably and right from the start. However I think one should save some money if possible and not upgrade and lock oneself in before one see what gear one gets.
