Description

The World of Yakuza 0 is beautiful. It’s full of neon lights and interesting characters. Open worlds can struggle to find the right balance of character and curiosity but Yakuza’s Kamurucho district has both.

The world of 1988 Tokyo is vibrant, and the bubble economy is in full swing. Everyone has their pockets lined with wads of cash, and it’s yours for the taking.

The city is always alive with people living their own lives, working, shopping, checking shops, and of course there's also hoodlums or other yakuza that will attempt to fight you as you explore the streets.

In this video I wanna show you all of these details.

The game takes place from December 1988 to January 1989, in Kamurocho and Sōtenbori, fictionalized recreations of Tokyo's Kabukichō and Osaka's Dōtonbori areas respectively.

It's like playing a traditional Yakuza movie film with you in it as the main character. If any street punks or other gangs are dumb enough to move in on your turf, you’re gonna teach them a lesson by beating the snot out of them in classic, PS2 brawler-era style.

The best part? Using Heat Actions and combos to literally beat money out of people, and of course smashing them in the face with environmental objects… like a motorcycle or, my personal favourite, the tea kettle.

Yakuza Zero's world is heavily inspired by real life locales. 
And it's incredible how much of a great job it does adapting fictionalized recreations of Tokyo's Kabukichō and Osaka's Dōtonbori.
I'm very glad that Sega has been focusing more on overseas and PC markets!
