A suggestion for those still having difficulty -> corner cutting penalties don't get applied to lap times. Meaning you can make a slight left hand turn on the very first corner, bypass the second corner altogether, then rejoin the track just before the first hairpin. Sadly, you can't cut straight to the hairpin as you'll go out-of-bounds and get reset on the track, but you can still shave several seconds off your lap. :P
