Your Planetside 2 install directory contains a UserOptions.ini file for your settings. You can set values in there that aren't accessible from the UI in-game. With some minor tweaks these are generally the recommended rendering settings for maximum FPS playing infantry. Copy and paste them to replace the values for the [Rendering] category. You may also want to set the file to read-only to prevent the game from overwriting these options.

Always save a backup copy of this file before making manual changes.

[Rendering] OverallQuality=-1 GraphicsQuality=1 TextureQuality=0 ShadowQuality=0 LightingQuality=1 EffectsQuality=1 TerrainQuality=1 FloraQuality=4 ModelQuality=3 Gamma=0.550000 VerticalFOV=80 ParticleLOD=0 ParticleDistanceScale=0.650000 FogShadowsEnable=0 MotionBlur=0 VSync=0 AO=0 MaximumFPS=250 UseLod0a=0 BloomEnabled=0 Smoothing=0 SmoothingMaxFramerate=150 SmoothingMinFramerate=60 UseAspectFOV=0 UseGlobalRenderDistance=0 RenderDistance=150.000000 InfantryRenderDistance=150.000000 GroundVehicleRenderDistance=800.000000 AirVehicleRenderDistance=1000.000000 UnderwaterGodRaysQuality=1 AAQuality=-1 SSLRQuality=0 Tessellation=0 WaterQuality=0

You may want to play with the texture settings (try both Low and Ultra to see which gives you better frames, depends on your machine).

Don't You actually want Smoothing=1?

Framerate impacts fire rate, especially on TR. But at least according to reddit this setting fixes it.

It's sad that this is a necessity if you play TR.. with the guns ROF being directly tied to fps.

Part dist got funky when they changed smoke, I think the ps2info team left the number where it is for black smoke/beacon reasons? Whatever the reason, yeah people can experiment and do what gets them better frames.
Flora is turned off here via FloraQuality=4

On higher settings u can see their silouette sligtly better in my opnion. But u have to sacrefice FPS as trade. Yeah i also hat infils as F*** :steamsalty:
Particledistancescale can also be reduced. It does not affect smoke anymore but still i gain a small boost from it (lift and other effects)
Renderdistance 200 can give artifacts but some Proplayers even reduce it to 75 for maximum FPS Gain.
And there is also a command in the Useroptions.ini which disables Flora at all. Renderflora=0 so u wont get wrong impression of false cover.

If you mean does it make it easier to see cloaked infils, no it does not. Higher "graphics quality" tends to make them stand out more. However, you can still see their shimmer and the lack of other clutter tends to help compensate for any lost visibility when picking them out.

:nisha:Hey! Can I see invisible infiltrators with this cfgs or not?
