Could it be, that you mixed up the emissions for the trams? I just noticed, that at least up to steam tram, the longer the trams the lower the emissions for some reason? Would make sense the other way round to me

If anyone was wondering, cargo trams technically so exist. Currently, the only one that used to be in service was a tram in Germany that transported car parts. However, ever since it got hit by a road vehicle, it's been out of action

Unfortunately the Early Start Mod doesn't work that way. The only way to give mod vehicles earlier start dates is to also make all vanilla rail vehicles start earlier -- it uses the same date for both. There is only a specific list of mod vehicles for which it supports separate earlier start dates, but your mod is not one of them.

So for your mod I had to modify the code to force an 1800 start date, which is why I suggested the change.

There were horse trams before 1810, particularly in industrial freight service, and horse-drawn wagonways in 1700s (the Early Rail Series #1 mod starts them in 1800).

1850 is neraly realistic for the first horsetrams. 1800 would be very early.
Apart from that, the early start year mod can change the start year of 1850-vehicles down to 1820.
