If you have played Trackmania, you may know you have a playable sound with your car/model, your honk. In this guide you will learn how to use your honk, making your own one and importing it in the game.

Using the default horn

Your default horn sounds like a normal horn from a car.

If you want to use it, follow these easy steps:

aim to the sky
press Ctrl
enjoy your sound :D

This is how it should look like:

Note: I am using a costum horn

Downloading costum horns

There are plenty of sites you can use to download horns (Trackmania horns also work).

I recommend to use this one:
Site [lesimoon.free.fr]

Choose a horn you like, download it and put it in
C:\Users\Your Name\Documents\ManiaPlanet\Skins\Horns
Now run Shootmania.
Go to Profile.
Click on the small box called horn.
Choose your horn.

That's it!

Making your own horn

If you want a specific sound you have made by yourself or can't find on a website, you can also make your own one.

Horn sounds are always .ogg files.
You will need a mp3/wma/wav (etc.) to .ogg converter. You can use the "Free Audio Converter" from http://www.chip.de/downloads/Free-Audio-Converter_32954899.html
Just put your mp3/wma/wav file into the program and let it convert it. Now follow the steps from the download section.

December 8th 2013 EDIT
You have to put a locator file with a download link (public dropbox folder or puush for example) next to your .ogg file. Make a .txt and put the link of the uploaded file in it. Rename the txt to .loc.
Your horn must be "mono" to be used. You can convert it with a program, I used Audacity.

There you go!

Now you've got your own costum horn!

thx. But in multipleer nobody hears my horn except me. How to make so that everyone can listen to "unique" horn?

Hi! Maybe you will have to make a .loc file for others. Just name it "yourhornname".loc and put the site where you downloaded it in it! (If you have made it by yourself, you will have to upload it to a site like Dropbox, put it on public and make a .loc for this one). .loc files are txt files that other players use to download your horn. I hope I could help. ^^
