Introduction
Do you ever think to yourself, "Hey, I want to get that Maestro achievement in NITW, but I'm so so damn horrible at the bass minigame? do you ever wish you could play like this person right 'ere
Well, maybe you won't be able to do it straight away, but this guide contains like, a couple of useful tips and tricks on how to get better. Enjoy!
The Tips
Okay, so first of all, if you're using a controller, you probably want to get rid of that. The button layout sucks for stuff like this imo and it just feels awkward playing it like that.
Throw your controller in the garbage bin right now. Done? Good.
Second of all, make sure not to play the bass in Mae's room, as this can stop the achievement from unlocking.

Now, to get this achievement you only have to play the 3 basic 'story' songs - Die Anywhere Else, Weird Autumn and Pumpkin Head Guy. The first 2 are extremely easy and probably shouldn't give you any trouble, but Pumpkin Head Guy sucks and is like, a major difficulty spike from Die Anywhere Else and Weird Autumn. Why? Because the devs obviously wanted you to suffer.

Remember how I told you to switch to keyboard for this minigame if you were using a controller before, because the button layout sucks? Well, the devs assigned the keys 1,2,3 and 4 to be the keys for the bass. Now, it may be easy to remember and stuff, 1,2,3 and 4 etc, but your fingers are extremely close together, and that can lead to confusion, the wrong keys being pressed, etc. I recommend to switch the keys to qwop/askl. This gives your fingers more room so they aren't just stacked on top of each over. But, if you imply on being a masochist and going with the 1234 setup, it's your funeral.
Seriously though, map the keys to what you find most comfortable, these are just suggestions

And my last tip - Practice. If you failed or whatever, you can always alt + f4 (Or command + q if you're playing on mac), re-launch the game and try again.
Now In the guide's name I said "Stepmania 6" This is because this minigame is comparable to the game Stepmania. If you're sick of retrying the same song over and over again, and are desperate, I recommend trying the game out.

Anyways, That's all folks. Thanks for reading my trash guide. Hopefully I helped you. If I didn't, then, oh well. I tried my best.

I'd say the first two songs are easy, but Pumpkin head guy is real difficult because of the random jumble of notes right near the end, I got past it by just focusing on the first three keys and ignoring the last one, to scrape by with a pretty good.

bro I deadass can't even get past DAE without failing miserably, nice to know that getting 100% in this game is impossible for me unless I cheat (which is gay)

I know this is years later, but I recommend also pressing escape and going back to the main menu instead of completely restarting the game. It's much faster than alt+f4ing.

I actually use the 1234 controls, I use a different finger for each key... (left middle for 1, left pointer for 2, right pointer for 3, right middle for 4) I found using both hands for it makes it much easier to do. I even perfected Pumpkin Head Guy with it!
