Click and hold middle mouse button to rotate
Shift + click and hold middle mouse button to pan
and scroll up and down to zoom in and out
these are the basics you need for you to model the majestic mushroom

Click 'a' to select all
Click 'x' to delete
Shift + 'a' to create



Select mesh and pick cylinder

at the bottom left click the cylinder option
and pick your desired number of vertices, for this lets just go 16

Click Tab Key to go to Edit Mode

you'll see 3 options at the top left:
the Vertex, Edge, and Face

Select face, then click the circle face of the mesh

at the left side select the move, to see these blue red and green arrows
click and drag down the blue arrow to resize the height of the mesh
then Click 'e' to Extrude move up a bit by dragging the blue arrow
Click 's' to Resize and make it smaller do extrude up and resize to small up to like this

extrude once again then this time resize it to big for the head of the.. mushroom
and it should look like this

extrude up, extrude resize to small again and again up to the tip of the head, like this

now tab again to go back to object mode
Right Click then pick Shade Smooth, to remove the hard edges

and it will look like this ..
