Welcome to Stardew Valley

Hello Stardew Valley neighbor! Thank you for taking a moment to stop in and see what this guide is about. I really enjoy Stardew Valley; the relaxing game play, the interesting personal stories, the open-ended game play, the great variety, the fun secrets and details, and much more. It highlights what one person (the developer in this case) can accomplish with determination, passion and love.

I wanted to create a guide as my contribution to the community but there are already a ton of "me too" guides and Stardew Valley Wiki regurgitation so I wanted to try something different. However, different can be dangerous... sometimes it can succeed but it can just as easily end in failure. I hope this will succeed, but I'm sure you as fans will let me know which I achieve.

So again, this is an experiment for me as it is not my typical type of guide. I do hope that you enjoy the read in spite of this different approach. My goal is to add a small bit of enjoyment to the Stardew Valley experience for all the other folks in the community.

Amber Alert
Hello, my name is Amber and I work in Pelican Town. In fact, I think we may have even met once or twice in the past. What's that? You say you already know everyone in Stardew Valley and you don't recall anyone named Amber?

Maybe this will jog your memory. "Welcome to JojaMart. Can I help you?"

No? Then you might recognize some of my all-time favorite lines: "Do you prefer paper or plastic?", "Clean up on aisle 7!", "Price check on Depends Undergarments", or the ever popular "Do you want cash back?"

Still not ringing any bells? How about this JojaMart 153 security camera footage from last week. Yep, you got it. That's me... Amber, your friendly neighborhood cashier! Always working hard to ensure your shopping experience is a pleasurable one. Don't I rock that stylish company uniform?

Trust me, I feel left out. I mean everyone else in town gets some attention but me. Heck, even that muscle-bound block of no-name bouncer over at the Oasis is in the Stardew Valley Official Wiki. I'm treated like a red shirt wearing extra on Star Trek. If this was an "Away Team" mission I'd be shaking in my boots! As Rodney Dangerfield might say "I get no respect!" Sure I'm just a cashier, but I like gifts and making friends too.

Speaking of being a cashier, let me tell you my favorite lame pickup line. "You must be a cashier 'cuz you always be checking me out!" Ha ha, some loser tried to pick me up with that one. It wasn't you was it?

Ugh, I have to commute back and forth from Zuzu City. I used to take the STARS (Stardew Valley Transit Authority Ride System) bus, but it broke down a while back and the town doesn't have the funds to repair it yet, leaving me stuck taking the freight train like some hobo. I'll be glad when they finally return that bus into service. And not just because it is a more peaceful ride than the train, but because that surly bus driver is always in here now whining and moaning about not having a job like it's my fault. It seems like she's in the store more hours than I am.

It'll be nice having her occupied with her bus route once again. In fact, I believe JojaMart - out of the kindness of their corporate greed heart - is attempt to raise funds to have the bus repaired. Really it is just good for business. Many shoppers take that bus when they come here to shop, and sponsoring the repair nets JojaMart a big fancy advertisement plastered on the side of the bus. I guess it could be seen as a win-win to some folks.

"Did you find everything you needed today?" If not it may be because my coworker Shane is not always known for being the most reliable. It's thanks to Shane that I've been named Employee of the Month for the last three months running. Matter of fact, I found him passed out in the beer cooler a couple weeks ago amidst a pile of empty cans. I promised not to report him though since he swore it would never happen again, and given our boss is not exactly known for being a gracious person.

Of course, I thought Shane was cute when he was first hired, and we even had a couple lunch "dates" - you know, microwave pizza and Joja Cola in the break room - but it turns out the guy has some real personal issues. Kind of too bad, as he seems to have a good heart underneath it all. Maybe he'll gain some maturity soon.

Hey, maybe you saw my short-lived JojaMart commercial. I earned 3rd place in the company's Video Ad Competition. It only ran on the local TV station, but it was still exciting. I received an entire week of paid vacation for it. It was titled "JojaMart... It's in the bag!" It highlighted all the products available at JojaMart that can't be found at the rinky-dink local store "Patrick's" or whatever it is.

You seem like the fisherman type so maybe this will interest you. I'm not sure if it is true, mind you, but I heard that old fisher fellow Willy talking to the seafood manager. He said when trying to catch the legendary fish, don't give up. They seem to tire a bit after repeated attempts to reel 'em in. You know, from fighting so hard. You need perseverance and patience to land those whoppers. Course, why'd you want to catch those slimy, smelly things is beyond me.

Oh, did you hear about the local so-called "Adventurer's Guild?" A bunch of old men dressed up in cosplay carrying swords and clubs around, supposedly exploring "dangerous" caves. I bet the only thing dangerous in there is the occasional spider or snake. And I hear there is some new farmer that has joined them pretending to be Batman, or some such. I overheard some customer talking about his bat cave on the farm and him being a fruit. I hope I don't meet that guy in a dark alley.

Apparently there has been a mysterious benefactor donating exotic minerals and ores to the library's museum collection. They announced a new exhibit starting next week "Marvelous Minerals: Don't Take Them for Granite". Pretty corny, but I think I might stop by one evening after work just to pass some time. You might want to consider dropping by one night as well.

Here is a recent photo of me and my co-workers celebrating the completion of some community projects. Gee, can you spot me? **Giggle** It's not like the carrot top hair doesn't give me away!

Whew... I guess I've been rambling on. I really need to get going, but it was nice talking to you.
If you are ever in the store swing through my register and we can "ketchup!" Get it? Anyway, talk to you later.

Come Again Soon

There is an old joke that seem fitting. My home town was so small that the town sign read "Welcome" on the front and "Thanks for Visiting - Come Again Soon!" on the back. It seems like you just got here, yet it's time to say goodbye already. If you are ever in the neighborhood I hope you'll stop on by. I really do appreciate your time and I hope this guide was not a waste of it.

I have created a nice collection of guides at this point, from tips and tricks to jokes and stories across numerous games. You can check them out here if you so desire: Taskmaster's Guides!

I also have a MOD available that is along the same lines as this guide. You might want to check it out: Junk Mail MOD[www.nexusmods.com]

Since this is not your typical guide, please take a moment to leave some feedback. Your feedback is how I will improve my guides - positive or negative - but I ask that you please be civil! You can tell me you hated it in a nice way. After all your comments will be there for everyone to read. I appreciate a rating as well, and while I'd prefer a thumbs up, I'd rather you be honest. Thanks again for your time and I hope you have a good day!

I actually feel bad for her. She is the female version of Shane it seems. She would actually be an interesting bachelorette instead of the others in town. Good job actually making an unoficiall character backstory.
