I usually run mid-sized colonies throughout the game, with everyone doing every task with no manual priority - Schools and Children mod makes it so that I can just have classrooms set up to get everyone to 5 skill in everything, TL;DR everyone does everything, but they only get GOOD at things they're passionate about, with only one exception - I rotate 3 groups of 2-4 pawns down the list; first two days, they only do plant cut, haul, clean, and research; second two days they only do clean, and research, last two days they only do research. After that, they rotate back to "default" of "do everything".
Much less micromanagement, and you can lose literally half your colony and (aside from the mood debuff making everyone Return to Wild) still survive.
Keeps the medic always ready for emergencies. You can also have them do work in the colony ofc.
Huskies haul everything for me.
I have a haul urgently (not sure if mod) which i set some shitty pawns to and use for things like bodies or that deteriorate fast.
