A mod for people like me who would like to play as non-aligned country from time to time or simply change ideology in the middle of the game. Should be compatible with every other mod on Steam Workshop (even Road to 56 if you want it).

The vanilla game doesn't allow the player to change ideology of a nation after picking certain focuses within the focus tree, so I made this mod to allow it.

This mod adds new decision category called "Political Direction" together with the decision/event chain allowing the player to change the country's ideology over time with the cost of pp.

Now you can change ideology mid- to late game. It doesn't matter if you play with or without DLCs or with the countries that use custom or generic focus trees. New decisions/events are available for every country in the game.

The AI won't use these decisions to switch ideology. Only the player can use them:
- basic ideology boost (+0,2 daily) costs 300 political points,
- you can boost the ideology even more (+0,1 daily for 150 pp) up to +0,5 daily for a total of 750 pp,
- you can cease boosting ideology any time without additional pp cost,
- when a certain ideology goes above 50% support you can take the decision to switch to this ideology,
- you can promote fascism, communism, democracy and non-aligned (you can always switch to non-aligned and play as non-aligned now which was impossible for 99% of the countries!)
- you can also overthrow Anarchists and restore Spain if you took the Anarchist focuses - newly restored Spain will get new focus tree and will be able to switch ideology again
- you can also spend pp to gain autonomy quicker as long as you're a subject of another nation

Known bugs:
- there's a vanilla game issue that I wasn't able to fix - upon achieving maximum autonomy and ending the puppet status of your country the game will simply drop all of your cosmetic tags(!), furthermore you won't ever be able to become a formable nation again...
I discovered this bug when I was playing Russia and achieved "free" status from Japan after few years; the same happened when playing as Balitc SSR simply reverted me to Lihuania - the cosmetic tag, custom map color and custom flag just drops. :(
Way to avoid this:
- upon achieving the ablitily to go free don't click the button, but save the game and switch to your master country
- annex your previous country via console command - for example: "annex SOV", "annex LIT" etc.
- release the country again via UI without it being your puppet
- save the game again and switch back to your initial country
You're now free - you'll have to rebuild your army, but technologies, focuses and comsetic tag should be retained.
I highly recommend using "State Transfer Tool" mod to correct any border issues. It will also make the entire process of annexing/releasing far easier.

Q: Why is the cost of changing ideology so high? Cost of 300-750 pp is far too much.
A: I didn't want this mod to feel like a cheat. It's only supposed to give a player alternative to switch ideology in mid- and late game when the focuses are already picked and the player would be stuck forever at a certain ideology.
