IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS TO LAUNCH ROME TW THESE DAYS, TRY THOSE OPTIONS (FIGURED OUT BY THE COMMUNITY) TO GET IT WORK:

1. Go to the rome total war folder
2. Right click on the RomeTW folder and click on properties
3. Run as administer and in compatabilty mode for windows xp services pack 2 for all users

Try turning off Antiliasing in your preferences file as follows:

-AA_QUALITY:AA_OFF

Right click on the game ->properties/ launchoptions and insert "-ne", to make it windowed fullscreen. (make sure you have maximum resolution)
