the cannibal plains are always a treat to travel through, but they fall into a gameplay valley for me. its too dangerous for a starting base, and too weak for mid-game training. usually i opt for the fog islands instead if im staying in the area, since the scenery is better and the enemies are better for early to mid training.
if you set up right on the border, you can get a great mix of fogmen, cannibals, shrieking bandits (if you dont befriend them), and then you have obedience for skeletons and spiders for mid-game training
As fun as this sounds though, I do enjoy bordering cannibal plains at the Northern Coast, getting a nice friendly community of Cannibals, Starving Bandits and Slavers (Paradise Falls mod, oh boy has that been the bane of my settlement run recently)
i tried to stay lite on the spoilers, but i totally understand wanting to experience it all first-hand. im the kind of person that doesnt do any research or look anything up for games i want to play. i prefer to go in blind whenever possible.
