The introduction to anarchy arcade.
You might of seen it on reddit or just saw it in your queue, but you managed to pick up anarchy arcade for yourself. Anarchy arcade is the alternative to the windows desktop nobody asked for, but its pretty good for multiple purposes. Many people use it as an alternative to the windows desktop, but personally i use it as an alternative to steam, origin, battle net, or epic games. It's a pretty versatile tool. However with the lack of tutorials it could seem pretty daunting for new players or people who came from legacy to try out for the first time. No worries it happens to all of us. we're all glad you want to try the game out, and this guide is to show you and explain the steps to anarchy arcade.
the introduction
First things first. Allow the game to import your steam games, because instead of manually having to add each game you know just can select it from the menu. So anarchy arcade runs on source which means if you've played tf2, hl2, garrysmod, portal, csgo, and day of defeat you know the controls! for you unaware wasd is to move, space is to jump, and ctrl to crouch. Nobody came to the guide for that though! It's time to learn about The creation tools shown in anarchy arcade. So the first step to doing anything is to press down on the mouse wheel. Anybody from legacy might enjoy pressing the arrow button in the corner to return to a legacy like menu however there is actually more features in the easy mode menu. So you get this menu with like 5 different buttons. Lets go over them from left to right. The first shows you all your steam games you imported and everything else you have spawned. This is where you want to probably get your games from since you can scroll through everything you own and put it down. Any game idk anarchy arcade if your insane. Now you have a you an arcade machine and a long list on the right of your screen. This is one of the areas that is the most complex. If you scroll you go down the long list of different types of machines. This is your own choice so go ahead put it down. I mean if you want to use noclip and place it outside that's your call. but now you have an arcade machine and ... You misplaced it. Crap well now you have to delete it and start over it was you might think but no. Simply left click and then middle click and now your in the edit menu. Now just click on the option that has 2 arrows making a cross type symbol. of course if you want to delete it simply click on the eraser button so now you have the basic of putting down steam games and moving and deleting objects. Hurrah this is a big part of anarchy arcade. Let's move onto the next option. Clicking on this reveals a little area to type. This is the website spawner and allows you to put in any website you want. Lets try with youtube. Copy this link "https://www.youtube.com" and then click the www button to the right. Now place it down in your arcade and click on it twice. It's actually open without having to use chrome hurrah again! another thing that is important is the 4th button which can let you make a sign anywhere. It's pretty rudimentary however it gets the job done and was a necessary addition to anarchy arcade. Now you have all these wonderful objects in your room but how do you actually open something? let's double click on these arcade machines and then you open a new screen. Now on the left put your cursor over the little arrow button and click launch. Don't bother with the other buttons as those are more advanced, and will be covered in a later guide. The final thing for the basic guide is spawning props. In the menu you access by middle clicking there's a little search bar. click on the chess piece button. Now unless you've installed a ton of workshop content you should be able to see all your props like the steam games earlier. Spawn it in like the arcade machine (except for the arcade machine menu on the right) and there you go. The same rules for moving them and erasing them are still the same.
Ending
Well hurrah you young padawan you've learned how to use anarchy arcade. I hope to see you in the metaverse! The guide for all the other buttons will be coming out soon however the more advance stuff would require me to figure out to explain.
