The FLIRT fits that role better than that of a regular CS 'train', imho, and from what I could gather it is used as such in Canada - it serves the Ottawa metropolitan area, not on national railway lines. It's basically a diesel S-Bahn, which at least to me, what the 'new' CS metro portrays pretty well.
As for your last question - I absolutely adore this particular model in the Canadian livery, it as I stated would fit the role, and the stock ingame metro is bland as h*ck... so... 1+1+1=I need this as metro ;-)
Not knowing a whole lot about the coding, would it be possible for you to also make a Metro version of this available for the new vanilla Metro overhaul? I'd love to use these for that purpose... Or would that be a major programming effort?
