1. Introduction (TL;DR)
Nothing. We do not know.
Jokes aside, you should read the other parts! :)
2. Official Statements
from: Official Counter-Strike Blog
  • We "have been experimenting with matching players using observed behaviors and attributes of their Steam account, including the overall amount of time they had spent playing CS:GO, how frequently they were reported for cheating, time spent playing other games on their Steam account, etc."
  • "in general we’re looking at your past experience in CS:GO and on Steam, to ensure the system is as accurate as possible."
  • "All you need to do is be a positive member of the CS:GO and Steam community."
  • "all you have to do to improve your matchmaking experience is continue to
play CS:GO and other Steam games legitimately."
3. Things that might help
  • receiving comments (profile)
  • receiving commendations (in CS:GO)
  • receiving commendations from high reputable players (!)
  • have no reports for cheating/griefing
  • have many achievements
  • have many play hours in CS:GO
  • have medals of service, operation coints etc.
  • have many play hours in other games (play legitimately, stop hourboosting!)
  • high steam level
  • public profile and inventory
  • having some value in your inventory
  • many friends
  • sending a support ticket to Steam support
4. Troubleshooting
Q: I have a very low Trust Factor, what do i do?
A: You could try to solve the things in part 3.

Q: I've heard that the Steam support can reset my Trust Factor. Is this true?
A: Might be. Some people claim it worked. But there is nothing confirmed yet.
If you want to try it out, send a support ticket to

Haha the guy below this comment got banned, while bragging before about his super nice trust factor :steammocking:

Yep

If the method is working, your TF must be incredibly good, right?

If you do not play for 2 weeks I'm not sure but I think it goes bad or stays.

Quick follow up: what happens if you do not play for at least 2 weeks in a row?
Kernig  [author] 18 Jun, 2019 @ 3:56pm
"it's simply just Matches played divided by number of reports (and it only counts for last 2 weeks)"

I am assuming that the higher the quotient, the better it is? If this WAS true, i would have a much better TF in the first place. I rarely play matches on this account, and when i do, i am pretty sure i never get reported (maybe once in a while).
Having a bad TF for more than 2 weeks also renders your statement false.

Another thing why i am heavily disagreeing with your statement: if this was actually true, people would not constantly complaim about a bad TF, but just wait 2 weeks.
Also: if this was true, it would be common knowledge in no time, rendering the whole method useless.

Normal DM servers close after a while or if the lobby gets empty so you can not really idle them.
I think you misunderstood me, kindly re-read everything again.

Playing normal DM does not get you reported either if you are just in the middle or bottom of the scoreboard. It's not necessary to go on idle servers.

Just join a community idle server over one night or two, one way I prove this works is by inviting nearby players to my lobby and almost all of them gives a red warning trust factor meaning mine is above everybody elses.

How does it not make sense? If you get reported your trust factor goes down, so don't get reported, by joining an idle server or idling deathmatch no one will report you because you aren't doing anything so Steam will see that you're playing lots and lots of matches without getting reported. It goes up I have tested this, but if you don't believe it then ok. Valve looves to lie about things also such as VACnet to make it seem like they have some advanced shit going on but in reality you can use open source code public cheats from 2015 and they are still 100% undetected. Valve is in reality a really simple company.
