22.02.2019: No updates? :'( I've been quite busy over the last couple of weeks, but I hope to find some time to do the animations for the remaining crafting stations (e.g. Medical Workbench).

More to come! :)

... what is it?
This mod adds a bunch of new/missing crafting animations to the game.
It does neither override any existing animations nor does it need an import to run! :-)

... what is included so far?
- 11 new animations + several special tools

... supported races?
- all races (Humans, Hivers, Skeletons, Shek) both male and female.
- all (modded) playable races like Cannibals, Fishman, ...

... supported crafting stations?
- Heavy Armour Smithy
- Arrow Making Bench
- Engineering Bench (still uses arrows)
- Clothing Bench
- Cooking Stove
- Copper Alloy Bench
- Crossbow Crafting Bench
- Plate Beating Station
- Research Bench I-VI
- Weapon Smith I-III
- Leather Tanning Bench
- Leather Armor Crafting Bench
- Robotic Limb Bench
- Stone, Ore and Steel Processors
- Chainmail Sheet Fabrication Bench
- Hybrid Stone Mine I
- Chain Armour Crafting Bench
- Robotics Bench
- Biofuel Distillery (Wheatstraw, Greenfruit and Hemp)
- Rum and Sake Still

... (major) known problems/limitations?
- it's not possible to use two "special tools" at once - so one hand is always empty
- animation speed depends on the skill level
- minor clipping issues with female/very thin bodies and long arms
- some clunky parts in the animations
- mod does not work with "custom races", because there is no link to the animation files - I'am on it!

... keep in mind
this mod does not override any existing animations/skeleton files, but it replaces the reference to the "generic use" animation. it also uses some existing materials.

@emmetanyade is your character from a modded race? They don't work unless you make or find a patch for it

My character just stands there doing nothing. I don't know what's wrong. Maybe someone could help me but for now, I have to uninstall this.

I had the same issue with crashes esp when you have crafting benches, but its fixed with ctd fix patch on nexus, but I wish it was also in steam to make it easier or this mod updated

Cavanoskus, you can also install CTD fix patch on the nexus, which will solve problems automatically if someone does not trust the downloaded file.

I'm going to repost my comment that has been pushed to page 4 by now because it seems to have helped some people and might help others with their crashes:

I got an instant crash the moment I first loaded my game with this (had people on crafting benches right at load), but I tried the fix explained in these comments (by Totally Not a Skeleton with additional tips from Mawnster) and it fixed it immediately. I was then able to play for hours with no crashes at all. If anyone else wants to try this but is afraid to use the FCS, I copied the fixed version to my dropbox here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/3yadtngi1qkrgm6/AAC_3tC1sUEoeCnwPVMTuIGfa?dl=0

Just download the entire folder, make sure it's called AnimationOverhaul, and put it in your Kenshi/mods folder. It'll be exactly as if you downloaded it from the Nexus rather than Steam Workshop. I hope this works for those of you experiencing crashes.

Don't use this mode. You can fall out of the game because of this mode!!!!

been debugging for hours. Finally pinpointed the cause of my crashes to this mod. Beware

First of all, kudos to the developer for their hard work. I've had this mod installed for a long time without any issues, but recently, while on an expedition, when I try to return to my base and double-click on a character at my base, the game crashes. It might be conflicting with another mod, who knows. However, my game crashes, and unfortunately, I have to put this beloved mod on hold for now.
