Are you having this problem when you start the game?

It's caused by a recently released Windows Security Update for Windows Media Player 11/12, you only need to uninstall it to get rid of this annoying problem.

This update has broken a lot of functionalities of other applications, like Photoshop CS6 and Camtasia Studio: InfoWorld article[www.infoworld.com]

Instructions

Go to Control Panel, Security, Windows Update
Click on View Installed Updates
Search for KB2803821 in search bar, right click - Uninstall Update
Disable automatic updates or hide this update to prevent Windows to download it again.

I tried with the guide of Error 1, but after that I can not run the game on both Uplay and steam. Don't know why, help me. On uplay, it show access deny after connecting to cloud, and on steam, there are nothing showing the game is started...

pirate and dark elf expansions black out after video,also when you use stairs or portals. can anyone help? id really like to play these and i got all the expansions together from steam and its a shame i cant accessthe newer content
