Armored Spartan - Shieldbreaker skins

Less 300 movie based look.

Game assets used as base.

Does not overwrite vanilla skins.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Based on the Spartan/Leonidas skins:

Compatible with this one, don't overwrite each other.

You can find them here:
https://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1513257858

Includes armored version for that color-scheme, not included in this.

Animation previews

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Variations:

6 palettes available. Check pictures above for better preview.

Skins use spots:
  • shieldbreaker_H
  • shieldbreaker_I
  • shieldbreaker_N
  • shieldbreaker_O
  • shieldbreaker_X
  • shieldbreaker_Y

I went thru some mods at Nexus and Workshop, trying to avoid overlapping with other mods.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(NEW!)
(Optional) Using 1 or 3 skins, instead of 6 skins;

6 skins is a lot I think, but if you are happy with that, nothing needs to be done, that is the default option for the mod.

But with simple step you can choose to use only 1 or 3 skins from this mod.

This is very easy to do, Just follow the steps below.

Long story short; Replace the modfiles.txt, with optional one that I have provided in the download

1.) Where to find this mod?
  • in main menu, where you activate/de-acivate mods for your save-file, hover over any mod, and you should get pop-up where the mod is located at your PC.

    2.) Changing between 1, 3, and 6 options.
    • in the folder you will find modfiles.txt. This tells the game what files to load in-game from the mod. In same folder you will see another folder named "modfilestxtoptions". Go there.
    • Here you can see 2 options text files I have provided. "one_skin_H", and "three_skin_H_I_N. Choose wich one you want to use.
    • Now remove the default modfiles.txt, and replace it with the one you choose to use instead, ofcourse renaming it to modfiles.txt too.

If you already loaded up the game, this might require re-start for the effects to take effect,
but it is that simple. replace one file.

3.)Choosing what skins to use from the 6 available.
      • Basically one file version will read shieldbreaker_H, so just copy the files from shieldbreaker_(skins of your choosing) to that folder.
      • For example go to shieldbreaker_N, copy the files inside that, put them in shieldbreaker_H, overwrite, now you should have the red and silver spartan instead the blue cape one in your game.
      • Same thing for the three skin version, you just have H, I, and N that show in game. Choose the ones you like the most from the 6 options available, and put them in those 3 folders.

Might update later why this is done the way it is. This is only Workshop related thing, manual installs don't need this extra hassle.

Don't like the palettes design? Psd file download

Will include psd file for easy editing of your own palette designs, as optional file at Nexus. Check link at bottom.

Annoyances:

- Vanilla FX for skills fit more or less with this skin, changing them would change them for the entire class, FX can't be made skin specific.

- Tiny bit droopy face in animations, shouldn't be noticeable unless one stares at it. Check animation preview above.

- Lower part of tunic a bit wonky when walking. I don't think I can do anything about it, vanilla skin stuff.

- Helmet colored top piece, is as big as I could do it with the restrictions of the vanilla class template. So can't make it bigger.

- Cape not in animations, couldn't figure out how to fit it in with vanilla template. It's behind the back is my excuse for including it to the move art, derp.

-Scratches on armor sometimes mirrored, might fix at some day.

- If something picks your eye, let me know.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Future:

- Might do vanilla version of this, female version.

These are great!

Yes. There is no need to have both installed, unless for some reason you want all of the variations. Basically you can grab the variations you want from the other one, and replace some from this one, or other way around.
Only problem with that is if I update the mods, it might overwrite the changes, not sure. But atm I have no plans to update either of these, unless something needs fixing, or patch breaks the skin.
Also thanks Kope, glad you like it.

Using this in place of the originals for The Spartan mod. Awesome work.

Surprise? That sounds good, I'll be checking Nexus a lot then. Hes Paleman and Condena are my favorite skins for the vanilla classes.

Thank you! I just released some touch-ups to the art. AceroSteel has a huge surprise incoming, and I can't wait to showcase it. :D

@dem22
Good to hear man, happy I could help. I'll be sure to play with the class, when I finally finish my vanilla run first. Can't wait to play with all the community created custom classes.

@Demetrion
Happy to hear work on this variant didn't go in vain. I try to do pretty extensive previews so people can have as good picture of the mod as possible, before clicking that subscription button. Hopefully you like it in game too.

This skin looks awesome! "Realistic" enough to not hurt my history nerd eyes, yet fantasy enough to immerse into the game. I'm loking forward to trying it out in the game.
