Basic information

Rachael Foley was a female agent of the FBC who investigated with Raymond Vester on the Queen Zenobia.

Together they entered the ship and separated at some point to complete the different tasks of the mission faster, which would ultimatley led to a chain of tragic events.
She is part of the main story and the player interacts several times with her either in her human or infested version throughout the story.
Rachael Foley is also playable in the Raid Mode of RE:R and RE:R2.
Her Ooze form was later added to the game's raid mode in a paid DLC.

On Steam her image is also part of the RE:R trading cards and backgrounds.

One last thing worth mentioning:

There are two different versions of her first name. One having an additional "a".

Both can be used and are mostly up to pesonal and regional preference.
For this guide she will mostly be called Rachael.

Sources for this guides were the Campaign of the game, the Prologue of Rachael as well as various websites and videos.
None of the videos shown are created by me, so if you found them helpful, consider giving them a like.
I. Rachael's Story
"Rachael on the Scene!"

"I was forced on this mission. I had no desire to come here for a job that could get me killed.
At any rate, stage one is complete. I got the key for the freight lift. Now I can access the bilge.
This ship was used as the base of operations for the terrorist attack on Terragrigia one year ago.
I found the UAV in the ship's foredeck that was used to disperse the virus.
Finding the UAV was good; getting attacked out of nowhere by an ugly monster was bad.

I knew this mission would suck from the moment I took it. My head feels like it's going to split open.

I lost an eye already. It's hard to see. I feel like crap. Arms are starting to feel weird too.
My right arm split into two. Blood all over my body, can see my bones. need doctor bad."

During the elevator screne Rachael can be seen saying something, however there are no audible lines before the elevator door opens, suggesting that dialogue was cut for unknown reasons before the release.
The most likely lines are either -"Help... please help heeelp!" or more likely
"Stay back!!! Stay baaack!!!!". Both are unheard dialogue, leaving their origin open to interprete. Due to the phrasing they were most likely part of the prologue video at some point in the development.

Her Mission:
"I just want to get off this God forsaken ship."

"Hold on, I have to check something."

"Why is this happening?! Why me?!"

"Stay back! Don't come any closer!"


Rachael's intentions on board the Queen Zenobia were seemingly to investigate and transfer the ship for disposal, unwittingly to erase any evidence on board that might incriminate her employer, Morgan Lansdale.

While investigating on the ship Rachael found the key for the lift and discovered several key pieces of evidence considering the attack on Terragrigia.

However Rachael would be ambushed before she could further progress through the Queen Zenobia.

Later on, when her journal is discovered, it becomes known what Rachael found and that she actually did not want to go on the mission and had a very grim and pessimistic view on her survival chances, a prospect that grimly became very real...


and her Demise:


In 2005, Rachael and her partner Raymond Vester were sent to the Queen Zenobia and got separated due to their missions.
While Rachael headed to the back of the ship, Raymond headed to the front,
though along the way she acquired the key to the freight lift and fought off several smaller B.O.W.'s, drastically depleting her ammunition.
Rachael also found the UAV which was used for the attack on Terragrigia, which she noted in her journal. She later checked on Raymond via radio to report back to him.

Whilst listening to him Rachael looked around and noticed a strange liquid dripping out of the vent. She paused the conversation with Raymond to check the spot.
As she examined the liquid, she was doused with it and ambushed by an Ooze in the vent.
Rachael quickly recovered and focused the creature, shooting it several times noticing with it its resilience against gunshots.
She backed away just in time to dodge the attack and flee the room with it starting her escape from the Ooze.
First Rachael ran through several parts of the lower cabins and the cafeteria.

Thereafter she reaches a hallway, where more Ooze were waiting.

The interior of this hallway is aesthetically similar to the classic mansion from the first game, or more specifically (due to graphics) the remake
Rachael taking a stand used her handgun (the PC356) to shoot the Ooze only to be shocked as she ran out of ammo, realizing with it that she couldn't fight them off. In an act of desperation (or frustration) she threw the weapon at the Ooze, tripping afterwards as she tried to ran from it, Rachael quickly recovered though and therefore narrowly avoided an attack by a different Ooze.

Interestingly enough the PC 356 is the weakest pistol. It underlines the bad equipment and preparation Rachael was given and which she had to work with onboard the ship and while the PC 356 compensates its lack of power by having more customization slots than the Beretta in the game, it's obvious that Rachael couldn't use this advantage.

Afterwards Rachael managed to get away and reached the elevator just in time to avoid being grabbed, however while she breathed a sigh of relief an Ooze rose up behind.
Rachael noticing it backed away and tried to grab her knife only for the Ooze to hit her leg.
While fending of the Ooze' grab, the elevator door opened behind her causing Rachael to fall and allowing the Ooze to grab her leg.
She kicked the Ooze, finally freeing herself.
She avoided death one final time as she ran to a seeming exit and locked the door behind her. Rachael noticed that she was in the research lab and it was in the research room where she would meet her end. Rachael limped through the room trying to subdue the pain.

While looking around to find something to treat her leg wound, an Ooze rose up.
Rachael backed up just to find herself trapped by more Ooze encircling her between and making her now an easy target. In fear Rachael turned to the Ooze behind and before she could react it grabbed her by the throat.

Surrounded, injured and out of options, Rachael was choked and lifted up.
She tried to free herself, however an Ooze fed on her and infected her with the T-Abyss,
finally throwing her at a window.
During this time, Jill Valentine had arrived aboard the ship and was looking for the Crew Quarters key and arrived just in time to witness her seeming death.

However Rachael still lived and was only unconscious a fact Jill missed, which sealed her fate in the end.

The fact that Rachael had only a small amount of ammunition shows that she didn't receive the preparation she would have needed for the horrors awaiting her onboard the ship.

However despite this or maybe because of it Rachael still put up a remarkable survival fight, showing quite the endurance in fighting off the Oozes and trying to resist with her remaining strength.
I. Addendum
In the end one minor or major difference that is often being overlooked in the climax of Rachael's struggle was the last appearing Ooze. Like in the other two ambushes in the beginngíng and during the elevator Rachael faced it. However while before they went for a swing at her, which before Rachael dodged either fully or partially. This time it went for a grab and did so unusely fast for an Ooze. Rachael can be seen in a similar posture during the grab as in the beginning, when she dodged the first Ooze. It indicates that Rachael was, even though in shock, mentally prepared for it and only due to its unusual speed and perhaps her exhaustion that she was grabbed by it. The surprise and following fear that settled in being shown in her face.

Rachael received her own trailer before the release of the game which showed scenes that were never seen in the released game.

She is seen speaking to someone; presumed to be Raymond Vester; on the radio where she is ambushed by Oozes; eventually running out of ammo and getting killed upon Jill's arrival.

Another extended version was released later on which showed even more scenes with Vester dressed as a Veltro terrorist infecting the researchers on the ship.

It is unknown how long Rachael survived her "last moments", as when Jill found her she was speculated as dead. However, as you progress through the game, you'll find out Rachael wrote down her final moments, thus surviving after Jill left. She alludes to her transformation into an Ooze as she mentions her arm becoming deformed and complains about her head hurting and losing vision on one eye; due to her hitting the glass.It doesnt go much deeper about her transformation and her feelings about it as the infestation swelled through her wetsuit and developed her trademarks.


Why Rachael was forced onto this mission remains to be answered as well as how much Raymond would have included her in the trap for Lansdale.

Rachael would also receive a Gameplay Trailer as she was build into the game's raid mode as a reward character, giving the player the opportunity to play her with her Ooze version also joining her in the raid mode as part of a DLC accompanied with a Gameplay trailer as well.

Interesting to know/Fun Fact:
In the teaser and prologue to Revelations you can see Rachael fleeing from the Ooze through several sections of the ship.

These sections are all accessible in the main story, which allows the player to see how far Rachael was actually chased through the Queen Zenobia. When put on a map, it turns her struggle for survival quite into an horrific odyssey.
However the connection of all those areas and therefore the pathing of Rachael and her pursuers in the videos doesn't fit with the actual layout of the ship in the game.

Also worth mentioning: The camera shot in the beginning of Rachael's Prologue isn't just a creative angle to portray Rachael's entry into the room and story of Revelations. It actually shows us the POV of the stalking Ooze that is preying on her. Who also creates the liquid dripping out of the vent as the Ooze is "excited" to attack her.


Making the beginning scene already terryfying, it makes it especially chilling, considering the allusions it contains to other horrible scenarios.

With her following demise in mind Rachael's gruesome end is quite heartbreaking.

Overall it makes her entry to the scene to a well crafted and remarkable moment of the story.

Although unfortunately it isn't a watchable part of the game's campaign.
II. Transformation
From Rachael Foley to Rachael Ooze
Quickly after her "death", the T-Abyss virus kicked in and transformed Rachael into an unique Ooze giving her former human characteristics a T-Abyss twist and making her to an extremely dangerous Ooze. Due to her resilience Rachael partially fought off the virus leaving her as a hybrid Ooze. An Ooze that still had a lot of human characteristics and as well as some of her human consciousness and memories.
As Jill returned to Rachael's corpse to find the freight lift key, she noticed that her body was gone. Jill read her last entry in her journal and after leaving the room was attacked by Rachael, now transformed.
She confronted Jill several times, always fleeing after taking heavy damage, but Jill continued to encounter her until she met up with Parker Luciani and the pair apparently killed her.

However, Rachael survived the encounter and recovered,
frequently attacking the duo as they explored the ship.
She was incredibly resilient to gunfire, being downed several times
after Jill and Parker initially "killed" her.

Rachael Ooze was presumably destroyed permanently when the Queen Zenobia exploded.

Interesting to know/Fun Fact:
Her Ooze Trailer Video (look above) features small additional voice lines of Rachael Foley. Although these consist of additional grunts of pain and moaning.

Rachael is the only character in the game that is visibly been infected and "killed" by an Ooze in the whole campaign.

She is also the only ally or non villian character who dies in the campaign.

Her transformed appearance made her accidentally to a poster child for the game, as her Ooze form is a prime example for japanese horror.

A sexualized monster that stands for repressed sexual urges, which is amplified by Rachaels humanity having not completely vanished.

Rachael Foley is a character from the Resident Evil series of survival horror games. She worked for the FBC and was trained for special operations. Her first appearance was in Resident Evil Revelations. She is one of the playable characters in the game's Raid Mode.
Rachael also appeared in the teaser and Raid Mode of Revelations 2.

Rachael is a simplistic and realistic agent.
She has rational fears when on missions and does everything in her power to see the mission through.
Rachael is an agent who doesn't try to stand out by expressing idiotic heroics.
She's not battle hardened, she doesn't shrug off danger as just another day.


Rachael is quite experienced with hard hitting short ranged weapons, although at an expense of handling the remaining gun types. However despite her combat experience Rachael is much more vulnerable to damage when fighting on close range, but she can recover from it by herself.

Look
Rachael is a big breasted woman whose slim figure accentuated by her tight wetsuit with the zipper only being up slightly around her waist, revealing more of her upper body. Additionally she has long blonde hair that reaches over her eyes (covering both) down to her chest, giving her an unique style. The look of her hair may be the result of it getting soaked onboard the ship due to the high humidity, alternatively it's supposed to hide an injury on her eye. However Rachael stated towards Raymond that she didn't encounter any problems yet, which probably means she injured her eye when she got thrown at the window, at which point she already had her typical hairstyle.
Her hair didn't seem to impair her vision nontheless as seen in the Prologue.
In the prologue especially but also in the game Rachael has pink glossy lips, suggesting that she wears lip gloss and potential other make up.

Rachael wears a figure-hugging dark wetsuit with orange strip patterns on her arms and legs and a Red FBC spray at the oxygen canister on her back. She ditched the canister later in her mission.

Her wetsuit limited Rachael in her ability to carry equipment for the sake of mobility onboard the ship.

In Revelations 2 is Rachaels wetsuit is shortened at her arms and she doesn't wear any gloves.
Her suit is zipped down (in both games) to near her waist as a result of her voluptous body revealing an ample clevelage, which made her appearance clearly different to the other characters even those wearing a wetsuit as well,
but it also left her more vulnerable in dangerous situations and generally unprotected.
Although the protection of a wetsuit isn't that good to begin with, making the difference in reality neglectable.

Rachael wears hidden beneath her wetsuit a waterproof wrist watch(or likewise device) on her left arm. It is only visible on her Ooze form and while not being a particuarly outstanding or important detail for her mission and story, it is still remarkable how meticulous the design team was with her visuals.

Interesting to know/Fun Fact:
1. When Rachael first was concepted, she was simply going to be a dead body with a key.
However the design team liked her so much, that they decided to make her to a character.
Her wetsuit was created simply by reworking Jill's wetsuit and changing its design.
Which probably explains her more revealing appearance, since the wetsuit wouldn't match her body measures.

2. Rachael shares a lot of similarities (especially in appearance) with a different female character called Ginny from the game A.V.A. Unlike Rachael however Ginnys hair doesn't cover her eyes showing her full face.


3.Much to the surprise of a lot of people and especially of the modding community, Rachael has actually a fully rendered face behind her hair.
It does solve the mystery around her face but it makes the answer to the question, Why does she have this unique hairstyle to begin with; even more interesting.
III. Appearance
This part not only contains a further description of Rachael's profile and character, but also explains some of the allusions
it
contains.

Character portrayal
Rachaels portrayal is surprsisingly complex and contrasting in the game. Firstly she seems superficial, as you don't learn much about her at the start and only later with a closer look more is being revealed.
Her style, appearance, story as well as her character in-game reflect this:

On the one side her long blonde hair covers most of her face and her two eyes making it hard to see her full facial expression, on the other side her suit reveals much of her body, giving her a look that makes her mysterious, but not deterrent or threatening to the player and hinting to the viewer that she is probably an ally.

Her style and appearance let her stand out.
This backfires however as the Ooze relentlessly hunt her down and kill her (human form) in the end. Rising from the dead Rachael becomes an Ooze herself. However she keeps her unique traits as well as most of her look. Troughout the main story she keeps attacking the player. Getting stronger every time she is fought off.


Metaphorically speaking shows Rachael an interesting paradox. On the one side her look and traits let her stand out as an unique character. On the other side her lack of character development in the main story leads to her often being reduced to her look, as you don't learn much about her in the campaign.

Rachael's hair style and figure-accentuating wetsuit make her (intentional or accidental) extremely attractive. Unfortunately this lead to unwanted attention in Rachael's case. Which creates grim parallels to the real world.
*Trigger Warning* Intended or not, Rachael's demise can be seen as a metaphor to victims of sexual assault and the loss of control they experience, which can happen to everyone and out of nowhere like with her. It further underlines the mixing of horror and attractiveness that shaped her appearance in Resident Evil.

Only after her death she gets more depth by the information Raymond provides and because of her transformation. This is in contrast to every other character in the game. It shows that Capcom couldn't properly finish her character, since in the beginning she actually should only be a dead body with no other purpose other than having a key. This lack of personality couldn't be entirely fixed by giving her a name, look and link to another character.

If this title gets a rework as well it might change her character arc as well. Hopefully to the better.

Storywise it first seems as she was a dead member of the ship, but later it's revealed she was an agent working together with Raymond and trying to figure out what happened onboard the ship.

However while researching and collecting key evidence Rachael was ambushed and had to fight off several Ooze only to be trapped and infected upon Jill's arrival.
Which would have dangerous consequences for Jill and Parker as well.

Her character has rational fears and a realistic view of her situation. Her behaviour and actions reflect this, as she tries to escape her pursuers than taking a fight alone.
Which unfortunately doesn't pay off.

Her will to survive can't compensate the "plot armour" of the main characters, nor the amount of bad luck she has and the bad options she has to choose from.
From being ambushed in a tight room and being continuesly chased by multiple targets in an unknown hostile environment, over to having only a few rounds of ammunition and finally being trapped with no escape in sight.


This archetype of hopelessness makes Rachael's story and character to the most realistic one in the game and adds some hidden self-awareness to the story, considering the actual survival chance the main characters would have in an unknown and dangerous environment.
Generally it makes her much more sympathetic to the viewer/player.

Rachael's tragic demise has therefore much more weight as it first seems.

Her seemingly superficial appearance hides this twist.
Making it to one of the more nuanced twists in the game.

Apart from that Rachael is a very resilient character, both in her human and Ooze form. However the protagonists and player only find out later about this, after they came back to find her journal, as well as the prologue giving some more intel about Rachael.

Finally her Raid mode magnum boost made her very popular nevertheless and a viable choice, especially in a team.
Interesting to know/Fun Fact:
Rachael's encounter with the Ooze is also a good example of the general horror elements in the game, since first at the beginning she was running for her life and then she becomes a monster herself, chasing the player.
Additionally her memorable "death" scene instantly set the tone for the type of horror in the game and made her to the tragic Femme Fatale of Revelations.
In the prologue her "death" scene also contained a hint as it showed Jill in the background witnessing her demise.

IV. Biology
Before her mutation, Rachael was an attractive Caucasian woman with a slim and defined figure with long blonde hair which fell over her eyes.

After her infection, her body developed the same slick, pliant consistency as the Ooze creatures. Numerous fleshy tendrils grew out of her and wrapped tightly around her legs and midsection.

The veil of long hair that covered half her face fused into a single curtain of flesh. Her fingers elongated into muscular talons for grasping prey and she developed the trademark cylindrical tongue of the Ooze that emerged from a gash in her neck.


Rachael's mutant form was much stronger and faster than the typical Ooze creatures and was also considerably more intelligent.
While the normal Ooze were incapable of speech, Rachael could still form semi-coherent words and phrases(see Quotes).
She was remarkably fast for an Ooze and could close the gap between her and her prey frighteningly quickly. She also had much higher resistance to gunfire as it took considerable amounts of ammunition just to temporarily incapacitate her, and may have possessed a regenerative capability as well, which would explain why she kept recovering after each of her battles with Jill and Parker.

Interesting to know/Fun Fact: Female Victims of the T-Abyss virus actually turn into a sea creeper. Rachael turning into an Ooze makes her to an unique exception of this rule.

Given that she was still capable of speaking semi coherent, like her "found you" line, crying when defeated and being able to express pain ("It hurts"), as well as being so much stronger than the others infected by the T-Abyss virus onboard the ship as well as surviving death several times, which even Norman did not, it's possible that she could be considered one of the rare humans who adapt well to the Progenitor virus which was in the T-virus mixed with Abyss, if the Abyss part of the virus had not been there, it's possible she would've become a superhuman like Wesker rather than mutate.
V. Raid Mode
Raid Mode Profile


Rachael is a character that excels when fighting the Ooze and that can recover quickly from small ambushes or from being grabbed. Giving her an unique way of handling B.O.W.'s. Her skills are very useful for approaching and killing with ease most of the regular Ooze. Even tanks and bullet sponges can be easily fought off by her Magnum skills and finished off with her Shotgun mastery. As long as you keep an overview she can be up close an unstoppable powergirl that racks up the kills. Increasing the reserve ammo for Magnums will be necessary to keep the momentum.

On the other side...
Rachael easily loses the control against groups of agile enemies due to slow fire rate and the potential overkill damage of her weapons, wasting potential damage. Adding to that are the moments in which you have to reload which happens faster than you might expect, because of the improved fire rate. One particular Ooze is therefore quite the bane of Rachael's existence. The Scagdead with its high resistance to gunshots, relatively fast approach and high damage attacks that can even kill her in one swipe, make this Ooze highly dangerous up close and a counter to Rachael's recommended playstyle.
Additionaly its ability to lay traps makes the usual approach with her extremely hard over time.
If they attack Rachael in a group and especially when mixed up with other Oozes she will easily fall victim to the traps or a grab while trying to avoid the traps, if not dealed fast enough with them.

Without any quick escape or teammate to back her up Rachael is easily overwhelmed by these groups, as she lacks any noticable defense, like improved dodging or increased knife damage. In general Rachael rewards experience in the game. Her focus on close range can backfire as she lacks the reserve after the initial amounts of high damage, forcing you to back up, as her defense and protection is weaker than that of the other available characters.
Her strenghts and weaknesses are fitting perfectly to her story and character. She can be overwhelmed when ambushed, but she can quickly recover from single attacks even critical ones. Although this promises only short term benefits. Overall it makes Rachael to a perfect character for Duo's. It allows her to excel why having someone that covers her in critical moments.
She offers a new take for solo players as her traits are definetely mixing things up.

She might not be the fanciest (excluding the look) nor the strongest character, but she can make things quite interesting, which shouldn't be overlooked. She brings firepower to table for Duo's, but due to her regeneration she is less dependant on herbs giving her more survivability when alone, although her hidden weaknesses make her more vulnerable than most other characters. In general as Rachael you will have the best time when there is somebody that can back you up when things get messy.


How to unlock Rachael

Costume 1: Wetsuit (Story Mode)
Get a Trinity Bonus on any stage

In order to achieve a trinity bonus you have to:
1 - be the same level or lower as the stage you're playing
2 - kill all the enemies on the stage
3 - not get hit by enemies, not even once
Complete all 3 in one play and you will get the trinity bonus

Therefore earning a trinity bonus should have a high priority when starting to play the raid mode as newcomer, as it is much easier in the first few missions to obtain it.

Rachael is also an available Raid Mode character in Resident Evil Revelations 2 even though she isn't part of the main story.

Interesting to know/Fun Fact:
1. Lady Hunk shares the same voice lines as Rachael in Raid Mode. It remains open if Rachael Foley is Lady Hunk or if they simply couldn't get a new voice actor in time.

2. Rachael's quote "Pleased to work with you, Dr. Death." (beginning quote when partnered with HUNK) shows that they seem to know each other hinting towards some kind of relationship between them.

3. In some raid mode levels it is actually possible to fight Rachael Ooze. Which allows to create the ironic scenario of Rachael fighting her monstrous counterpart.
Unfortunately there is no kind of reaction from Rachael, when seeing her Ooze form.
V. Tips and Tricks
Mastery skills: Magnum and Shotgun

Rachael's unique bonuses make her a Jack of all Trades in CQC, however she lacks additional long range capabilities forcing you to get close to the enemies to have the highest DPS with her recommended choice of weapons, as a result you will find yourself often in more dangerous situations with her, which can easily backfire.
Knowing how to dodge consistently (or knowing at least the enemy spawns) when playing Rachael will be a life saver as she doesn't has improved dodging stats like some other characters. In fact she even has worse stats (by -25%), which makes encounters at close quarters really to high risk high reward like scenarios, as you trade safety for higher damage.
An hommage to the life or death situation that Rachael found herself in the prologue and the many close calls she was in there.
And like in the prologue of this Femme Fatale it makes moments where you are caught off guard extremely fatale if not even deadly, putting a much more ironic emphasize on fatale in Femme Fatale.
Shotguns and Magnums have both a slow rate of fire and low reserve ammo capacity, because of that, good aim and keeping the effective range in mind is essential otherwise you will quickly find yourself in a Déjà-vu situation with Rachael having more enemies than rounds in your magazine left. The Custom Part Gluttony 5 is recommended to further help with the ammo management on Magnums. Additionally Rachael attacks quite fast with her combat knife, making it easy at dealing quick damage to incapacitated enemies.

Ignoring everything else Rachael's handling with magnums is reason enough to play her,
making her excellent at killing more robust and slow Oozes or in general bosses.
In combination with Charged Shot, Rachael's* Magnum can penetrate the armor of the Draghignazzo and semilar Oozes what makes Rachael a reliable tank killer.
The health regeneration is useful when taking small damage by weaker enemies or when grabbed, but it won't help you against stronger enemies, therefore make sure to prioritize enemies with high damage output and agility, if possible.
Overall Rachaels sweet spot would be in situations with resilient and slow Oozes, allowing to get close and get the most out of her Shotgun and Magnum boost.

However with these weapons in mind (and being solo) Rachaels biggest weakness are groups of agile enemies, which can quickly encircle her and make her an easy picking for them.
Her shotgun skills will be helpful, but the damage drop off will leave you quickly out off ammo or alternatively when using only on closer range with some enemies still alive and
no way to escape.

Of course grenades are a good options to deal with a lot of enemies of any kind at once, but for a beginner this isn't always a cost efficient solution and you shouldn't become too dependent of them. Each type is a useful tool with its own purpose, but they shouldn't become a crutch.

Consequently to avoid Rachaels fate of the story mode you should carry a machine gun or high RoF hand gun as third weapon of choice for these scenarios. Additionally replacing the shotgun with a sniper rifle can be a good alternative as well, as her Magnum boost is her trump card.

*The Charged Shot works on any other character as well, but Rachael's Magnum boost makes it even deadlier.

- Even though it isn't shown in the game it is actually possible to see Rachael's confirmed face

-While the official Japanese website spells her name as "Rachel", other publications use "Rachael".

-Rachael is one of the last victims of the T-Abyss Virus

-Rachael does not appear in Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D's "early" demo version, instead appears a generic male named Richard, who later was replaced by Rachael in the final version.

-Rachael seems to have been possibly playable in pre-release versions of the game on 3DS. In "Jessica's Report", Rachel can be seen swimming and being attacked by a Sea Creeper, as well as being cut in half by the Scagdead.

Interestingly enough the flavor text contains quotes that were never seen or heard before.
Especially Rebel's End provides a gloomy glimpse of Rachael's last moments besides her journal.

The japanese version (拒みし者の末路) of the name means translated End of the Rejector.
Considering this the meaning of the name is seemingly from the view point of the virus seeing Rachael's struggle as rejection or rebellion. A twisted view point.

And considering her design. I don't mind it. Sexy or good looking characters are mostly fine, as long as they're not being reduced to it by the game (like just being eye candy and devoid of any character) and I guess a lot of players assumed that with Rachael. I can understand that, but I don't think it fits in this case, as this guide hopefully showcases with the amount of information. Although a lot more information could have been provided by the game itself considering her which would have helped fighting that image in the earlier times of the game.

@XS Jim Since Capcom is remaking all the previous parts,maybe this game gets a remake as well. The game's story did suffer from a lack of time. However I hope that with Capcom remaking their older RE games and adding some new flavor to it, that this game will benefit from it as well. Like being able to play the campaign in Coop, as well as being able to save Rachael by being fast as Jill or in control of her even and having her be the prologue and depending on your performance you can unlock a path in which she survives, allowing you to play her and get some different missions since you have an earlier access to it with her key with different obstacles to overcome than with playing against her. It also makes more sense to me personally, not only because she deserved better, but also because this could give you more options, having 4 "good side" characters (Jill,Parker,Rachael,Raymond), which can be even split up into two duo's where as in the other playthrough it would be two solo's

There's a theory that she was supposed to be the main protagonist of RE:Revelations, it seemed like Capcom had an idea of making the game more scary by introducing new characters but eventually it was scraped because in a E3 trailer you can see the person who dies on the other side of the window(where Rachel dies) is not Rachel and that person's name was going to be Richard but in the final game and prologue it was Rachel... kinda sad she died so fast, and the fact that the main protagonists were Jill and Chris AGAIN made it less scary for me, i know alot of people are mad on her design but that's Capcom dude don't you know them? they have a history of Sexualized Videogame characters(Darkstalkers/SF) a R34 artist can't compete with Capcom, i really loved the game and its story but man it could've been better if it was Rachel not Jill, Jill and Chris are not scared of anything in the entire game but Rachel is just like Ethan in RE7, Resident Evil was a horror game... i miss those days

Hmmm, Interesting that Japan has different body statistics than we do here in the U.S; cause holy crap in order to be 5.9 feet tall and 117 pounds even, you have to legit not have muscle mass nor fat mass, you legit will have to scrawny (*lol like me i.r.l. that's how I know this kinda stuff actually cause I'm physical proof of this, although I currently weigh 127 pounds at this current time, I usually weigh 120 pounds though*) to actually be that tall at 5.9-5.11 feet tall and weigh 115-117 pounds, this rule applies for both men and women.

However I wouldn't be surprised if that is close or relatively close to be true, considering her figure and that Capcom is a japanese developer and publisher and in Japan they have a lower average weight per citizen. So of course taken that bias into account they probably took their home country stats, increased the height slightly, while decreasing the weight slightly. Maybe a bit far fetched, but asian companies that tend to create more attractive male or female caucasian character tend to get these stats a bit too "supermodely". Not saying that this has to be bad, but of course it makes harder to realiable pinpoint characteristics like these.

For now I'm referring to stats that are close to Jill Valentine, since they do have semilar body shapes and (in RE:R) wetsuits in terms of design.

To be honest I don't exactly know anymore. I made the mistake to not make a list list of all the sources I used. Tracing back using my memory. I found a site (https://www.roleplayer.me/rachaelfoley) that I did found before, although didn't use and while it doesn't look like a serious source it has a semilar weight written there. In this case 118. Which is still not much. However it has a stated height of 5,11 feet which is even higher, so I'm not really sure what to make out of it. I know that there was definetely another source, but either it was deleted or too insignificant to show up now, without going down a rabbit hole.

I will rewrite that segment, since I can't confirm as for now.

Which is possible actually for a human being to be like that, for both men and women. Where did you obtain that information by the way? Cause I couldn't find her profile data anywhere on the Web.

@HeroicMessage_000 I don't know right now the definitive answer to this, but as far as my knowledge goes I rather would say that it is a miracle and that she is not transgender and her unique mutations are more result of her resistance to the virus. That's why she is still semi comprehensive and can speak sometimes. It fits also with her raid mode stats, as she can recover health over time due to her natural resistance as well as surviving the injuries she sustained from the attacks long enough to write down her last entry into her journal. To sum it up I think she is just tough.

However I don't know if there is an official statement to it and while it doesn't sound unplausible for her to be transgender. For me personally it's just a side note that gives a potential different take on things and a different explanation, although I like your take on it. Whether she is trans or not both makes sense to me. :47_thumb_up:
