Well when I first started playing:

I went straight into World Tour, and cleared all the Events in the hardest I could choose (A-Rank (3 Stars)) straight away. Didn't even bother with the easier skill levels. Then I finally tried out Matchmaking.

After that I realised I didn't practise enough, so I took on S-Rank in Would Tour & started trying to beat the Staff Ghosts in Time Attack

I played a lot like that too. Why Matchmaking is the first thing they do rather than learning the basics of the game first is beyond me.
