Class Description
A versatile defensive and support soldier class, the Spartan was raised to be loyal to his state military. He is well educated and instilled with a mantra of duty, discipline, and endurance. Due to his experience with contracts, property deeds, and maps, he can hold 3 extra deeds per inventory slot. He's willing to die to protect his group.

Playstyle
Spartan can be used in a variety of ways, with some longer battles and an element of chance too. Can fit into a variety of party configurations, including Mark (Arbalest, Bounty Hunter), Bleed (Houndmaster, Flagellant) and Shuffle (Grave Robber, Highwayman, Thrall) teams. He gets better at some skills the more he progresses, but some skills move him around. He is more defensive and support. He has a very weak, risky heal. Willing to sacrifice himself (lower death blow resist). Sometimes critical hits will relieve a little group stress. Defensive in nature with helpful camping skills.

Pets Compatible

NOW LIVE! Help find "Warden", the Spartan's Pet Armadillo who was taken by the Pet Patrol in the Pets (Trinkets + Monster Mod). Optional mod.

A Spider Hunter
A Spartan's spear is especially effective against base game Spiders and Spiders found in the Spider Nests 2 (Monster Mod). The Skill "Into the Fray" receives +DMG +CRIT to pierce 8-legged freaks. Optional mod.


Herbs of the Wild Compatible

A Spartan's military training also allows him to find a few helpful natural supplies when using Carnifex's Herbs of the Wild Resource Mod which is recommended (and fun!) but is NOT required. Chance to trigger while interacting with curios or while searching after a battle. Spartans are ONLY trained to identify fruit, flowers, mushrooms, or wood in certain locations. NOTE: Load HotW Resource Mod ABOVE Spartan.

This Spartan's role is primarily Defensive with Marking, Low Bleed, Minor Heal, Stun, Block, and Stress Relief. He can work in many combos. Some of his skills grow in reach, duration, or starting location with practice. Good hunting.

- Very light attack and almost every skill switches positions every time.
- Low health
- Low evasion
- High chance of dying
- I really like the movie 300 spartans. When I saw this mod, I thought his skills would be like in the movie....but they are not....apart from light attack, most of his skills are stun/mark/a little armor buff/not that much healing/
- I also thought it would be like the movie skills like / block multiple attacks / can penetrate multiple people / can counterattack. /Change attack pattern (like RedFlameArmy mod)
- This character has to rely heavily on items (as shown in the picture), even though items will increase the chance of survival.
In short, this mod is for Challenge and if you still want Spartans, just use Skin.

Why do all of his skills have such extreme damage penalties? Even his basic attack loses MORE than half of it's damage, and his "work together" attack still loses about half of his damage. This is the softest-hitting warrior-based mod on the workshop.

Nomad Sorry to hear this! there have be no reports of problems with Spartan class for quite some time. Try to verify your game files. Also Unsub and resub to a mod can sometimes correct errors. There are no dependencies.

When I right click on him, game crashes.
Is there any mod requirement? Or any known issue? Mods he doesn't work with.

I feel he could use some slight buffs (especially in damage department) but otherwise a very nice tactical class choice.

I'm not sure if it is difficult to use him or his attack decrease effect is bad
