Introduction
So, you've reached the end game and you realize that you got in way over your head. Maybe you think you advanced to quick, maybe you think your ships are garbage. Nah, these bastards are just overpowered. So, I'm gonna teach you how to beat them!

The Behemoth
The Behemoth is the Xraki bosses. They are protected by a force field till the 8 eight generators are taken out surrounding it. The generators have extremely high health and as the ship loses generators, it will start gaining the ability to turn and move away, increasing by the number of generators that have been destroyed. It can get hard when almost all generators are down as the Behemoth will keep the remaining ones away from you. While the generators are up, the boss will spawn an endless stream of fighters from one section, which have a 1-2 second rate of spawn. These do high damage and use a medium range beam.

Once the generators are down, the Behemoth will have full movement and chase you. It will no longer spawn any more fighters. Instead it will shoot out a fast singularity missile if you are at long or medium range. It can only have one up and moving at once and will shoot another the moment it is destroyed. These missiles create black holes that damage you in a wide area if they detonate without being destroyed. At short range it'll spray out several plasma shots around it which are somewhat homing, but don't go far without being destroyed. Do not get within short range.

The Ship of Choice!
2 Words: Pinthi Contagion

This little ship is quishy as hell, but it does extreme damage.

Strategy
The key thing is to stay away from the boss and spam your right click, contagion. These will shoot out a mini ship which will lock onto the generators immediately and go and start rapidly firing at them. The projectiles do not disappear on hit, so they pass through the generators and boss and hit others doing massive damage. The more contagions you get up the better. You're slower than the fighters and they can easily get killed by them, so feel free to surrender and reload if you don't kill all or the majority of generators. Sometimes you'll get enough contagions on the map where the fighters can't spawn without being killed. The fighters don't aggro right away if you're far away, which will allow you to get more out.

If you die and the shields are down, switch to your main ship. You can easily kite the boss now and shoot missiles from far away. Remember to stay away from it so it doesn't use its spam attack. Also, you can use phasors to destroy the missiles, just hold down the button. It is possible to max out battery life so you can have infinite phasors which makes the boss fightable in short range.

the norast diamond or whatever it was worked well for me, you just shoot volleys of both lasers at the same time then move until recharged

I found Pinthi very useful as described in OP and in comments.

If the Pinthi does get destroyed, for 2nd part (boss without shields), Terran Cruiser MK 2 is excellent. If you happen to be close to Behemoth, your Point defenses shoot down *both* his weapons. Otherwise just keep distance and shoot with the auto-targeting dual missiles. Best used with picking up all the battery regen you can get.

Killed 2 of Behemoths (2nd stage) without losing any crew.

Mu'Kay with their Ink Blob, position it nicely and it will drain all the generators in no time.
I have 5 Mu'Kay on my fleet. Only used one or two of it and the main ship.

Or... Just get a few Lexite Interceptors, circle and shoot. Avoid the fighters while they respawn. Use shield to avoid enemy fire. Took me from ~2-3 interceptors on the first Behemoth to 0 on the last one (Challenging difficulty - maybe it's worse on the last one, dunno).

Seriously, Lexite Interceptor is one of the best ships in the game, along with the Mu'Kay Grasper.

The tentacle ship is amazing. You just drop ink-clouds all around the ship. The clouds destroy the generator then eff up the ship.

Pinthi FTW!...i used 1 for each of the attacking fleets and 1 for the final boss's shields. as soon as you spawn ...ram into the shield and fly rotation around it.(touching/bouncing against the shield)...it keeps the fighters from hitting you and you literally bounce along it. keep spawning the contagion..they deal quick damage when that close too... once last generator...get some space or the burst weapon fires for instadeath once the shields are down. then fly away for distance and spam the contagion. the fighters dont respawn once shields are down. Ez and you have your whole fleet left.

I had a bunch of money saved up, so I hired a crap-ton of mercenary cruisers. They have enough HP that they don't instantly die, and they cut through the generators pretty quickly. I still had to restock my fleet between each fight, though.

I found that firing barrages of Heavy Dumbfire Missiles with the main ship while circling the boss ship is the best way.

The Pinthi ships are slow and made of wet paper... Average survival time per ship for me is about .63 seconds. This is one of those strategies that you try over and over and over and over and over and over again and eventually get lucky (and you get to listen to the award winning dialogue from the Xraki over and over and over...)

And then when you get lucky enough to destroy the ship... congrats! Now DOH IT AGAIN!!!!!!!! And be quick about it!

It is a valid strat though. If you can keep them alive long enough those Pinthi ships to lag the game out with green particles. They make very short work of the boss post-shield phase as well.

I just used a single Mu'Kay ship and just used the ink all over the map. First drop it right next to the boss and the dudes spinning around it will die pretty quick, then just keep circling dropping ink. The thing died in about 3 minutes for me.
