As you all know twitch.tv recently became the streaming monopoly when own3d decided to terminate its operations from certain financial difficulties. Own3d streamers, mostly from EU, were using an external chat (IRC), which was for the casual visitor within certain limits respectable and understandable. However, this was changed due to transitions to twitch. Chat is full of faces, links, images and yoloswag phrases that may not be immediately clear. I decided to write this Guide on the twitch chat that no one from the community had a problem!

Twitch chat is full of trolls and 10 year olds so do not expect any serious information or constructive opinions. Of course you must belong to them.

An integral part of the chat are "faces". Faces have their "meaning" and they are created by using certain phrases.

Chat tends to "snowball". Which means that if someone writes something funny to chat you can see it another 10 minutes or longer.

If you want to throw money out of the window, you can give some streamers $5. Then you are not affected by subscriber-only mode, and you have logo in name in the chat file. If you want to be more cool, you can pay 9 bucks to buy a Turbo to get some more faces.

1) Trolling

The Alliance has just won the first game against EG.

A: Who won first match?
B: EG 2-0 Alliance / iG won.

2) Fans of the twitch chat are incredibly bipolar.

So even if you are the most die-hard fan of a team but you see that they play quite poorly you need to properly appreciate. Example: GG Na'Vi DISBAND
On the other hand, if your team plays really well two minutes later, show some respect. Example: Dendi OP nerf pls

3) at least 70% of your outpourings must contain appropriate face.
Example: Dendi RP best RP
Faces will be described in the next section.

4) From time to time it is good parody League of Legends.

For example, someone scores rampage. Example: PENTAKILL
Or if hero is too strong. Example: Magnus OP Riot nerf plz

5) If the link for strawpoll appears you need to fill it!

6) It is similar with the images, if you like the image spam chat with it.

Faces are gro of entire chat. If you cannot use Faces, nobody will read your trash-talking. I will mention the most widely used ones and explain what they mean. Under the dash is a word with which you can create a face and in parentheses there are the other names used for that face.

- Kappa (Troll Face, YOLO Face, Grey Basterd, Smug Jew, Cu.nt Face)

Kappa is the most important face in twitch chat. Usually you will use it in a sentence which you do not mean entirely seriously, but you can use it anytime, no one will complain. Biggest fan of Kappa is SingSing:

















Example: IG worst team in Dota 2

- WinWaker (Dendi Face, Purge Face)

WinWaker is representing Dendi-Face. It is therefore mainly used in matches Na'Vi or Dendis stream, but like Kappa can be used even when there is no reason. Sometimes chat turns into spam mode and you will see only Dendi face. In such situation, we recommend you to join aswell.

- FrankerZ (Puppey Face, Dog Face, Puppey Paws, Mr Bark, WooferZ)
This face is representing Na'Vi's Puppey

Example: chen best chen

- FailFish
As the name suggests it is a face, which indicates a fail (failure).
Example: AM 25 min no bf

- SwiftRage
Emoticon signifying anger. So it's obviously widelly used ;).
Example: MY RARES!

- Kreygasm
Kreygasm expresses excitement. Usually at some upcoming events or a good game.
Example: pudge

- BrainSlug (Big ♥♥♥ before, GreenShiet, GreenNig, Venomancer, Flubber)
Face, which previously looked like this -> It was almost as popular as and but unfortunately has been changed and it's now avaiable only to Turbo users/suscribers. You can use a substitute - KevinTurtle (SwagNig, Lil ♥♥♥, Small ♥♥♥, New ♥♥♥, 50 Cent)
Example: mouz or Ema Hole

- PogChamp
Excitement, surprise. It can also be used as an Asian face.

- OneHand
This face is representing Merlini or Luminous
Example: doto police catched

- MrDestructoid
Everytime Draskyls microphone is **** up you can use this face.
Example: skyl

- BibleThump
Use it when you are sad
Example: My rares...

- DansGame
Face indicating LD. To some extent this can be used without any context.

- PJSalt
This figure does not refer primarily salt as it seems at first glance. Salty in English means angry.

- ResidentSleeper
Use it when you are watching boring game

- BCWarrior
Face for ♥♥♥♥♥

a) Someone pauses the game.

In this case you have two options. Either type: pause (Puppey is "known" for his tactical pauses) Or: 1-800- Call Merlini. (Merlini was first who pointed out Puppey's tactical pauses and made a video about it)










b) Someone is disconnected from the game / Stream is down.

The entire chat will spam DDoS. DDoS is planned attack on certain player/caster to either annoy him or to change result of the game.

c) Someone picks Phantom Lancer.
The entire chat will spam Cancer Lancer with / faces.

d) Someone picks Luna.
NOOOOOOOUUUUUUUVAAAAAAAAAAAA


e) Soe appears.

Chat becomes totally chaotic. Half of it wants to rape her and the others want to do even worse things to her. Expect ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of funny pictures. Unfortunately you can expect pictures of penises aswell.


f) A team loses
MY Rares! (even if you dont have a bet) / GG + <team name> DISBAND recommend face

g) Someone asks for song name

Every song is Darude - Sandstorm











h) Someone asks how to make a face.

He is obviously a Mongoloid who can not use Google, so you are going to troll him (preferably by names that are listed in parentheses).

j) 322$ Yolo Solo

Player Solo from team RoX.KIS placed bet against his team in Dota 2 league Starladder. He placed 100$ and he could possibly win 322$. So everytime you see epic throw and suicide kills, spam 322.

Other twitch chat users, Faces, Strawpolls. Alternative sites with external stream interface, where you can hide chat. And some good Mods (Kalikot)

1) MOOBOT
Your biggest enemy. Prevents you from writing in CAPSLOCK, spamming and other things. If you violate his rules he will ban you.

2) SlowMode
SlowMode prevents you from typing in a quick succession. (also called spam) These intervals are "multiplied". It means that if you type too often you will not be to chat for a longer time.

3) NAZI MODS
Worst moderators are on Dendi's stream. If you type Dendi noob you will be banned so fast that even face won't save you. The second worst is probably Tobi's stream, where they often switch to the subscriber only mode because of the spam. The most tolerant streams are BTS (Godz and Lumi are fans of internet trolls), The GD Studio or SingSing's stream.
