I will use my monitor as an example. I have a 2560x1440 165hz 4ms monitor. While the pixel to pixel is 4ms, the input lag is somwhere below 1ms (one of the best IPS panals on the market).
when you turn on vsync, those numbers don't change. just beause you set your monitor to some fancy zero latency mode, doesn't mean you negate vsync.
so as it stands, I have ABOUT 5ms (its like 4.xx). If I turn on vsync, I am adding over 30ms of input lag (because that's how shitt vsync is).
best way to reduce tearing when below monitors refresh rate is using gsync or freesync, doesn't add any input delay and keeps things running smooth.
