Into the Breach to dwuwymiarowa strategia turowa na PC Windows, osadzona w oryginalnym uniwersum science fiction. Producentem tytułu jest niezależne studio Subset Games, czyli twórcy wielokrotnie nagradzanego FTL: Faster Than Light, które zadebiutowało w 2012 roku na komputerach PC. Into the Breach to drugi projekt deweloperów. Pomimo tego, że gra odchodzi od formuły FTL, będącego symulatorem statku kosmicznego, posiada ona wciąż wiele jego charakterystycznych elementów, takich jak styl graficzny czy wysoki poziom trudności.
