This guide contains VALERY's opinion and interesting information about DarkRP[darkrp.com] gamemode.

I have walked this way for 4 years and want to give all my knowlege to you, players.
I don't really like asking something from you but if you'd like and favorite this guide, you will make me smile.

Soon I'll open my DarkRP server, if you are interested in this guide, why won't you get interested in my server?

There are most popular wrong opinions which can be found on servers and reason, why they are wrong.

They don't exist and never had. Community made them and most polular rules were counted as official. Althought they are not really right!

Free Kill and RDM are similar. Some people think, that RDM is killing more than 3 people. Suddenly this is not right, in RDM it doesn't even contain any meaning of three players. Do you know what it contain? MassRDM.By the way, interesting fact - Free Kill is only used by russian community. English community only uses RDM and MassRDM.Evidence of these words - FPtje in his document described RDM and MassRDM but not FreeKill. It doesn't exist, this rule shouldn't exist.

To search property you don't need curfew. In real life, if you didn't know warrant is only given if you have evidence and reasons to think that this will help in investigation. This funny moment, when police searches all city on illegal items. DarkRP is based on real life, could you search 500 000 civilians by only using 20 police officers, huh?

Rarest type of people, are people who say that police can't own any property. Aren't police humans? They need to sleep in police department on floor? So funny.

Physic laws exist everywhere. Like, AK-74 calibre can't shoot wooden door or brick wall? No, it can. All this is based on what weapon pack is on server. Most of packs are normal but by using M9K you can shoot through all map only by using sniper rifle. So I don't really understand these rules.

So you just bought GMod or found DarkRP gamemode? What is this gamemode, what does it taste like and what am I able to do in it? Let's dig deeper.

So, main idea of this gamemode is playing and developing your role. Most of the time - developing your money balance. Each served is made by its owner, he adds there modifications which change gaming process. It can be cars, player models, some scripted items (entities) etc.

Source Engine can't realise cool scripts, that's why scripting language Lua was added (GLua - Garry's Mod Lua). That's how developers make cool things that you find on servers.

In 2014 Russian DarkRP was really popular, noe French DarkRP. Russian DarkRP have really changed but not in good way. Who we need to blame? Community. We need to blame community, they play on servers what doesn't have good map, feature, they only have stability... Yeah...

When I first joined DarkRP server in 2014 players made me stay, not server. I remember how I was ready to stay all real night in police department just so chief likes me and be in good relationship with him. Now these players left, we lost them. Servers are not unique anymore, if they are - they don't have any chance as all online stays at bad servers.

If you are very brave and will get in this pit then there are some advice for you. First of all - look on owner, he is captain who will lead server to the future.Players are things what you are going to interact with most of the time and reason why server exist. Server assembly, if it's bad that doesn't mean that owner won't develop it in future. You need to do everything so it develops and project stays alive.

Most popular question. Answer is easy. Interact with players and develop your RP role. These 2 process's should be interesting for you and players. There is one more activity - Watching server. Very important thing, with this server profit and lie is made. Server has rule breakers someone needs to watch them. How will you describe moment, when you have rights that others doesn't have? And yes, this looks stupid - players work for free and even pay to work for free :P

LightRP was created by Rick darkalonio. LightRP was sandbox with some added RP elements.
LightRP was released at the end of January 2007

DarkRP was created as a spoof of LightRP by Rickster, somewhere during the summer of 2007.
Note: There was a DarkRP in 2006, but that was an entirely different gamemode.

Rickster went to serve his country and went to Afghanistan. During that time, the following people updated DarkRP:

In 2008, Unib5 was administrator on a DarkRP server called EuroRP, owned by Jiggu. FPtje frequently joined this server to prop kill en masse. While Jiggu loved watching the chaos unfold, Unib5 hated it and banned FPtje on sight. Since Jiggu kept unbanning FPtje, Unib5 felt powerless. In an attempt to stop FPtje, Unib5 put FPtje's favourite prop killing props (the locker and the sawblade) in the default blacklist of DarkRP in an update. This in turn enraged FPtje, as he swore to make an update in secret that would suddenly pop up and overthrow the established version. As a result, DarkRP 2.3.1 was released in December 2008. After a bit of a fight, FPtje became the official updater of DarkRP.
