Cheap Ores

Description
Anyone can grind ore. It's not dangerous enough to be so expensive. This fixes that problem.

You're not stupid, but no :plumbus:

The ore is a lot cheaper, so you can buy it for less money, but that also means that you will not get as much money from mining it.

so the ore is more expensive if im not stupid?

Could either do that or make it so that all shopkeeps have a disdain for the item(s), (if that is a vanilla mechanic mind you) such as fencing goods is like 1/10th the actual price so if everyone has a reduction on its value as an item type, but not as an item it shouldn't affect the chain because it's individual shopkeeps that lower the price, rather than the item value itself

(would be a lot more work than just altering the items cost, but hey, it's a method of doing it right?) ^_^

The downside to this method if it's even possible is that if anyone added a modded trader of some kind that wasn't based on a vanilla trader and therefore copied the alterations, players could go to those traders and sell their ore for a much higher price (vanilla price)

I'm not exactly sure it works that way though it is very possible. I've always figured it's random, since glancing at the prices and amounts or items I haven't noticed a correlation. But it's definitely worth the test you provided.

Certain shops have laws of consumption right? IE do prices change based on their quantity in stock? If so, just give all shops like 500 ore in a single stack or something, will cause the price to inflate

Yeah, I didn't have time to really test it out, but it seems value is greatly changed by the ingredients.

I personally bought a lot of iron plates olny when I needed to refill my stockpiles, I hadn't even noticed a price drop, so nice of you to let me know. When I have time, probs tomorrow, I will look into it more.

I don't want to change too much of the prices of other items in this mod, since it's only supposed to be about ore, but at this moment I can't think of a way to not do that. I think a small increase in the price of the plates is the only thing I am able to do, but I'll check it out properly tomorrow or on the weekend.

importing is not changing anything

That is whats confusing me... the monetary value is seemingly meaningless when something is made out of something else. A gain of 50% in value is there as aspected out of the data in the mod.

No i just loaded the save. I'll try again with importing

The prices fluctuate a little from town to town (around +/-20%). The actual value of the plates is set at 550 right now, so I guess I gotta take another look at it.

Did you import your game after you tried it out again?
