Mechipede MkIII B9 by Llama

The Mechipede was designed for crawling over boulders and up steep hills, but has been tuned to also work at high speeds without compromising offroad capability.

The Mechipede is supposed to be good, but still a challenge. Tyre grip is 3.5-4, and there are no rocket or fan assists. Brute force and some technical wizardry, but it's all about balance and power through the wheels.

Features:

Passive flexibility and twist in the spine to track contours in the ground

Bogies to track contours in the ground

Controllable spine - moves left and right for tight turning circle or arches up and and down to tackle boulders and cliffs

Suspension and spine stiffens up with speed - more flexibility for slow crawling

Spine control stronger at low speeds - more stability at speed

Active aero system engages when wheels lose contact with ground - anti roll at speed

Active aero brake assist - increases grip and deceleration while braking

Active yaw stability - keeps it "mostly straight" at speed

Automatic chin control - front section raises when adjacent to obstacles (toggleable)

Automatic body leveling - active suspension will adjust to keep the body more level (toggleable)

Automatic ground tracking - active suspension will extend or retract to keep wheel contact on bumps or dips (toggleable)

Automatic gearbox - shifts gear when vehicle speed is close to maximum speed per gear (toggleable)

Low range and high range gearing - 6-speed low-ratio gears for climbing hills and 6-speed high-ratio gears for general purpose driving including moderate hills (toggleable)

Variable wheel steering - choose between front 4 wheel steering or all wheel steering to suit conditions (toggleable)

Ackermann steering - inside wheels turn more sharply than outside wheels for better efficiency

Steering gear multiplier - inside wheels get a lower gear and outside wheels get a higher gear to improve turning

Squat mode - lower centre of gravity and suspension travel for better stability on high speed, open terrain
