chapter 1

there was a war going on between us and Syria and we managed to capture 5 terrorists but unfortunately they have no information that is useful to us but rather than extraditing them to face judgement and execution I have stuck a deal with the us government and we have agreed to do a 31-day test on them that involves a new experimental gas that has not been tested yet the scientists have no idea what this gas will do.
so we locked all 5 of the test subjects into a chamber and released a controlled amount to see if its toxic or not and it didn’t kill or even do any harm to them after 1 hour so we drained the gas out of the room and retrieved all 5 test subjects without any incidents we then proceeded to lock them into another test chamber that has 5 beds, a large collection of books, stored food to last them 62 days, a toilet with a sink next to it and a drain in the centre of the room and then we placed all 5 into the chamber and sealed the door shut and used the cameras and microphones to monitor them as we released the gas into the room to see what it would do since we had 31 days it was best to see if the gas did anything at all but after 12 hours the subjects showed no signs of needing to sleep and had increased levels of activity and after 24 hours nobody in the test chamber nobody showed any signs of tiredness despite being awake for well over 24 hours now.

On the second day we noticed that the subjects were all becoming aggressive and irritable and were unable to stay still for any longer than 15.5 seconds at a time and that none of them had slept for an unreasonable amount of time but we decided to continue the test anyway to see what else would happen.
On the third day one of the subjects started clawing at one of the corners for about 18 hours until his fingertips were grinded down to the bone and another subject was rocking back and forth in the corner for about 15 hours quietly repeating the word “gas” for an unknown reason and none of them have slept at all since the experiment began.
On the fourth day one of the subjects started screaming loudly and running around the entire test chamber pushing anyone or thing out of his way while he did so and this persisted for 18 hours until the subject stopped suddenly and started sobbing loudly while sitting on the floor in one of the corners and started defecating in the corner and used it to mark an area that he said was “his and only his”.
On the fifth day the previous subject who ran for 18 hours and another subject started to fight over a book but after 2 hours both gave up and decided to put the book in the corner and craw a circle around it using their own faeces with a message saying “this book is bad do not touch”.
On the sixth day all 5 test subject were standing in a circle around the centre drain for 17 hours and were whispering something that the microphones were unable to detect.
On the seventh day the subjects all remained motionless for about 4 hours but security footage confirmed they were still awake as they were observed to be twitching violently and breathing heavily.

Chapter 2

On the eighth day the subjects all started to smother faeces on the cameras and as a result we were unable to see what was happening inside the chamber and had to rely on the microphones for information.
On the ninth day we decided to drain the room of the gas and to go in and take the test subject so that we could take them to the medical room and see what the gas had done to them but when we drained the gas the subjects started screaming for it to be turned back on in a way that sounded like they were going to die without it so we went in to grab the test subjects but when we went in one of them had been torn open on the floor and his organs has been placed neatly and arranged in a way as if they were still inside him and flesh had been torn from his torso, arms and legs and had been used to block the drain and there was a 2 inch deep pool of grey fluid that had accumulated above the drain opening that was blocked by the flesh of the subject, when we attempted to remove the other 4 subjects they became incredibly violent and had changed physically their lips were now gone and so were there eyelids and their skin had become a pale withered texture, but then as we tried to remove them they lunged at one of the researchers and tried to tear out her organs and they had to be subdued using rope as they were unwilling to leave the chamber.
when we did finally get them out and on to a stretcher we had to restrain them with metal restraints as they just tore through the leather ones like they were nothing and after we got the 4 onto the stretchers we sent in a team to clean up the remains of the last subject but surprisingly he was still alive and he was smiling and laughing as they picked him up and put him onto a stretcher with his organs to try and put him back together despite the fact that he should have been dead a long time ago from blood loss as we took him to the medical room he kept trying to escape and attack us so we tried to sedate him but when we tried to he furiously objectified throwing himself around to try and resist so we decided to put his organs back in without anesthetic which itself was easy as he seemed to enjoy the fact we were cutting into him to try and use what skin remained to put his organs back in.

after we put his organs back in we placed him in a room on a stretcher to calm down as after he started shouting about the gas again so we held him still to give him some sleeping gas but he violently refused causing some of his organs to fall out from there stitching when we finally managed to sedate him he fell asleep then his brain and heart instantly flat lined so we took the gas off and tried to wake him up but he didn’t he was dead and now he had only 4 subjects left so we placed all 4 remaining subjects into a single small room but while doing so one escaped from his binds and attacked and killed the guard who was putting him there and the subject freed all 3 remaining subjects then all 4 remaining subjects started to run on all 4 limbs like dogs and were leaping on and dismembering anyone they came across but eventually we managed to have a team of 10 armed guards stop them they were then restrained and placed in a room on stretchers and they were restrained using leather and metal straps with additional straps on their necks so they can’t escape we than placed 5 guards in the room with guns to make sure they didn’t escape but then one of the guards went mad and killed all of the other guards and started screaming at the subjects and started shouting about all the people that they killed then the guard pointed his gun at the subjects shouted “WHAT ARE YOU?” then one of the subjects said ”we are awake but you are still asleep” then the guard started twitching and unexpectedly freed the remaining 4 subjects then unlocked the door to let them out before taking his gun and shooting himself in the head and dying.

The 4 subjects then proceeded to grab me and the rest of the researchers and tossed us into the chamber then they locked us in and turned on the gas I shouted for them to let us out but there was no reply then I heard the intercom in the room that I had forgotten about and I heard them say “it’s time to wake up” using the intercom then they released all the gas into the chamber the gas became so thick that I was us unable to see anything and I was locked in that room for 4 days unable to sleep just like everyone else who had been tossed in here.
2 days into being in this chamber and I was already going mad I was unable to sleep and I felt different now and all I wanted was to kill everything but it was at that moment I found that there was a mirror in the room that I was not even told about and when I approached I saw my reflection and it was as I expected, I had become like them we had all become like them.
It wasn’t until I had gone fully mad that the door opened I didn’t want to leave as the gas made me feel alive but then I remembered the subjects screaming for the gas and in my refusal to be like them I left the gas chamber as quick as possible but then I was overcome by a strong feeling of nothing but pure hatred and a desire to kill and I then realised what I had become.
I had woken up just like them.
Then all the people who had been tossed in came out as well.
They had all woken up as well.
And I could see that they were now awake just like me.
I am awake now.
And so are they.
After that all of us including the original tests subjects broke out of the building and left.
Now we are free.
Now I am awake and free.
But now I am hungry.
There is a town nearby.
With… lots… of… sleepy… people…
Tasty… sleepy… people…

Now it’s time to eat.
