Introduction and Basics
Here's the IP for the official server: 74.91.119.196:27015

(This guide is still in beta just like the gamemode, so some things will be missing like certain guns from CDC arsenal or what stats mutated zombies have). Hello! Welcome to the Zombie Mutation Full Guide. Zombie Mutation is a semi class based, fast paced, competitive, tactical zombie gamemode where a squad of CDC special operatives must take out a horde of zombies. Both teams must use teamplay, map knowledge, and overall tactical awareness to succeed. Players will select their team at the beginning of the game. There is a grace period, so you (hopefully) won't be doing 1v1s at the start. In addition, a team balance system has been put in place so nobody will be (significantly) outnumbered. There is a 300 second countdown at the bottom of the screen. If it reaches 0, CDC win. This isn't like Zombie Survival either, so no respawns! (Unless you're a warlock zombie.) Most maps on the official server use CS:S content, so make sure you have that mounted! Tip: if you minimize, don't worry about spawning in without being ready. Your GMod icon will flash and a sound will play if a new round starts. A neat list of the basics can be seen below.
CDC Basics
The CDC team is made up of hardcore special operatives with deadly equipment and a "kill anything that moves" attitude. These guys will wreck the zombie team if their tactics and coordination are good, but the zombies can hit just as hard so keep on your toes! Be sure to communicate with your team at all times! Say clear if it's clear, scream like bloody murder if you're about to die, say incoming if you got a horde approaching, etc. Heres some general rule of thumb when playing as these guys.

DISCLAIMER: These rules are NOT set in stone! Sometimes you will win even if you don't follow ANY of these, but it's much better to follow them!

1. STICK TOGETHER: I know it's hard and you want to "wreck some scrubs," but stick together. One shotgunner will NOT kill 5 zombies. The entire damn military WILL.

2. CAMPING IS BAD: Ok, I know what you're thinking, "well Drunk Headcrab you better listen up here you idiot, I know my zombie games gud and camping works all the time cuz da zombies can't run to you as fast as you put lead in their headz11!." While partly true, this is NOT that zombie game. However many hours you've clocked onto Zombie Survival, Zombie Mod, or whatever other zombie gamemode, DO. NOT. CAMP! The zombies in this gamemode will horde up and eat your A$$ quicker than you can say "HOLY SH|T WHERE'S THAT COMING FROM!?" Also, toxic zombie will destroy you like the annoying little prick he is.

3. NEVER GET TOO COCKY: Ok, you can get cocky with an M3 Pump Shotgun but that's it. Nothing else, unless you're into the thought of being eaten alive by several undead corpses.

4. BE A GOOD SPORT; HELP YOUR TEAM: Basically, assist and communicate. Give a teammate some medkits if he just got mauled or is on fire. Drop an ammo crate if a teammate is out of ammo. Shoot some lead into the zombie that's eating your friend's face. Yell "AH! AH! (Player Name) ZOMBIE BEHIND YOU!!!" if a zombie is coming up on an unsuspecting friendly, etc.

5. HAVE DIVERSE LOADOUTS: You could very well win if everyone has a shotgun, TMP, and medkits, but sometimes the zombies will get an edge on you by doing this. If you want to counter everything, you must have some snipers, deagles, traps, ammo crates, tar grenades, etc. to be in the mix.

The CDC arsenal can be found below, but it will be fully added in after beta. Right now you will just find the tier definitions and a couple of items.
CDC Arsenal: TIER 5 - Close Quarters Combat
Tier 5 weapons are typically shotguns that are effective regardless of whether or not you hit the head. These weapons have a very low skill requirement but are restricted to cocky, head on combat with zombies.
CDC Arsenal: TIER 4 - Generalist
Tier 4 weapons are generally well rounded weapons which are extremely versatile and often pack a punch if you can land headshots.
CDC Arsenal: TIER 3 - Stationary Support
Tier 3 weapons (typically) don't require too much skill to use but the user must know the map and team strategy to use them effectively.

BEAR TRAP: Hold crouch to deploy. If a zombie steps on it, he will not be able to move for 2 seconds. If the person who deployed the bear trap steps on it, they will get caught in it. Has 100 HP, can be destroyed by zombies. Can also be picked back up by the person who deployed it.
CDC Arsenal: TIER 2 - Range and Support
Tier 2 weapons require the user to have good aim, situational awareness, and map knowledge. If the user meets these requirements, then they can pack a bigger punch than any other weapon (even if this means helping your team).

MEDKIT: Comes with 4 medkits. M1 to place down, M2 to throw. Zombies can pick up medkits. Medkits heal 25 HP. You must press your use key on the medkit to use it.
CDC Arsenal: TIER 1 - Specialist
Tier 1 is for other stuff that isn't quite ranged or support but is still hard to use and has an upside for effective use. Otherwise, it just has some special mechanic so I couldn't list it as generalist (this could also mean it's only good in very, VERY specific situations).
Zombie Basics and Classes
Welcome to the zombie section! Do you like BlTCH slapping everybody? GREAT! Join this team.
Anyway, this team is perfect for hording up and rushing people. If you horde up on this team, expect lots of death for the CDC. Use corners to your advantage and try not to jump too often. If you read the basics, you'll know jumping basically turns your whole body into your head (AKA you'll die 0.5 seconds). Zombies regenerate health when not in combat (except Standard zombie, he regenerates all the time). After some time, zombies will gain a "scent" meter. Basically, the scent meter will detect the nearest CDC unit and tell you how many meters away he is. Every zombie class does the same amount of melee damage, left click being 28-30 damage and right click being 64 damage. Backstabs do 128 damage (right click only). Want tips? Sure you do, here they are.

1. HORDE UP: Always stay together unless you're flanking. Running around alone makes you an easy target!

2. KNOW WHEN TO FALL BACK: Alright, I guess you could use the excuse of "I have no brain," but you still need to know when to fall back. A hurt zombie who is regenerating health is better than a dead zombie. What would that be?.. undead.. undeaddead.. Nevermind.

3. FLANK: This was mentioned in HORDE UP but I need to expand on this. If EVERY zombie is going down the same hallway, EVERY CDC (and their combined firepower) will also be at the same hallway. Split forces (even if it's just one or two zombies) and the CDC will be weaker (or atleast a chunk will be taken out due to the backstab mechanic). Flanking is also very important for CDC units who chill in open areas, like streets or parking lots because you can get them from behind while they're running away.

4. BACKSTAB: Or trickstab, whatever you prefer. Try going for the back when fighting. This also applies for CDC units who use their knife. Backstabs do an A$$LOAD of damage (128 to be exact), so try getting them more often than not.

CLASSES:
The zombies have about 7 classes to choose from, all with their own mutations, stats, abilities, etc. Each class can change the tide of the battle, so use them wisely. Note: This section isn't finished. Some zombies will be added and some zombies will change, so everything listed here is subject to change or be false.

The standard zombie is a.. well.. standard zombie. He is the tankiest of the bunch with a whopping 240 HP. He regenerates 10 hp every 2 seconds and can regenerate while in combat. Fun fact: this guy is also called a "skinless" zombie. "The standard zombie is the best class for new players." - Tomgreen
Burnt zombie... this little motherf.. tactical class is used mostly for stealth and PlSSING ME OFF WITH DOUBLE-TAPS. Get backstabs or left click then right click on people. Attacks light people on fire, which blocks vision and kills the victim much quicker. The burnt zombie has 220 HP and regenerates 6 HP every two seconds. His footsteps do not make any noise and many other noises are also silent when playing this class, like ladders or even water footsteps. Due to the burnt zombie's model, it is much easier to hide in the shadows or near darker colored walls.
This is the leaper. He can jump great distances if you look up a bit and hit your shift key. Leaps have a cooldown of 7 seconds. He has 200 HP and regenerates 6 HP every two seconds, much like a burnt zombie. The leaper is GREAT for open maps, tall maps (buildings to climb on), or even just rushing a corridor. Can also be used as a flanker due to his ability to reach places nobody else can. Tip: Jump after landing a leap to boost yourself forward a bit. Ahh, the screamer. This abomination can scream via pressing the shift key. Screams have a 9 second cooldown. His scream will push players and props away, although this works through walls and props too. Fancy tricks can be done with this class, so use him wisely to throw campers off! He has 220 HP and regenerates 8 HP every 2 seconds. Plus, the screamer can do alot of utility stuff with his scream, such as destroying equipment, barricades and even deflecting projectiles ( Rockets, Tar-nades and stickybombs )!
Zombie Classes Part 2
The Summoner has 215 HP and regenerates 6 HP every 2 seconds. This lil' feller's special ability is to spawn NPC fast zombies which have 125 HP and do 7x more damage on leap and claw. Summoner can only spawn fast zombies every 15 seconds. If your old fast zombie hasn't died, it will be vaporized upon spawning a new one. Upon death, the summoner (you) will drop a headcrab NPC. The headcrab NPC has 50 HP and does 15-20 damage per bite. The warlock has 200 HP and regenerates 6 HP every 2 seconds. When playing as the warlock, you can construct an altar (using the shift key). The altar acts as a spawn point. If you die, you will respawn at the altar you constructed. You can pick the altar back up and place it down again later, but you can only do this once. When the altar is used (A.K.A when you die), you won't be able to place another altar. Be careful where you place your altar, CDC can camp/destroy it!
The toxic zombie has 175 HP and regenerates 3.5 HP every 2 seconds. When playing as the toxic zombie, you can press shift to give yourself a spore. You can throw spores at CDC units to deal direct damage or throw it on surfaces to release gas that slowly damages any CDC unit inside of it (gas is still released if CDC unit is hit directly). Spores thrown directly at CDC units will not stick (if the spore is thrown onto a different surface, it will stick). Spore gas damage goes through walls. Spores take 10 seconds to recharge. Beware, spores can be shot (destroyed) by CDC units!
The charger has 235 HP and regenerates 8 HP every 2 seconds. When playing as Charger, you can press shift to begin charging forward at fast speed. While charging you cannot use your mouse and can only turn using A or D buttons. You can still jump and crouch. Your charge ends when you collide with terrain or CDC, dealing damage to you or CDC, knocking him back. The cooldown is 9 seconds and starts recharging as soon as you press shift. Damage starts at 20 dmg up to 200 dmg. Careful about charging into CDC, while charging you cannot stop until you collide with something and your head is really easy to hit!
CDC Promotions
If you get 3 kills in one life as a CDC unit, some text will appear on the bottom left of your screen indicating that you can get a promotion. You can hit your context menu button to look at the promotion list at this time. Click on the promotion you want. Promoted CDC units will have a white color instead of a blue color. The promotion list should look like this:
The right side (the one that says "perks") will describe what the promotion you're hovering over does. Upon promotion, you will recieve a full heal and your max HP will be capped to 150 instead of 100. You will also recieve a speed increase. Promotions only last for 1 round. Here is a more detailed list of the promotions:

1. SURGEON: Regenerates 1 health every 2 seconds, gains+8 additional medkits and 2 resupplies (for some reason, nobody ever picks this promotion).

2. LONGSHOT: Equipped with AWP ( A monster sniper that deals 200 dmg per headshot ) and revolver (deagle on steroids).

3. SENTINEL: Equipped with an auto scanner (detects zombies, but this one does it as an ability so you don't need a weapon out for it to work, it also detects faster) and a Krieg 552 (can zoom with right click, does more damage than the AUG).

4. TRAPPER: Equipped with +3 bear traps, +2 barricades, and +1 turrets (I solve practical problems!).

5. RAMBO: Equipped with an LMG and +60 armor (Crush baby zombies).

6. DEMOMAN: Equipped with +3 stickybombs, AK47 (Imagine a stronger version of the M4A1) and a freakin rocket launcher.

7. COWARD: Equipped with 3 tar grenades and 3 Adrenaline cola's. Adrenaline cola makes you charge much like Charger does, minus damage. You also scream "Zawmbeez".

8. JOHN WICK: Equipped with Dual Elites. Elites shoot as fast as you can click and deal 75 damage per headshot. Class is unfinished and will recieve something more in the future.
Zombie Mutations
If you get 3 kills in a single life as a zombie, you will mutate! Mutations only last for 1 round. Once mutated, your running speed, HP, and regen will increase (this is among all mutations). Depending on the class you're playing as, you will mutate into one of the following.

ABNORMALITY (Mutated Standard): Has 275 HP. Regen increased to 12 every 2 seconds.

                                                   CHARRED (Mutated Burnt):

(Mutated Leaper): Decreased leap recharge time. SHH.. Secrets!
As per request of the developers and early beta testers, no steps regarding how to activate or obtain described secrets will be revealed.

SKELETON:
There is a legendary secret class known as the Skeleton. He is like an alternate summoner. He can spawn "Face Stealers" (fast headcrabs) with shift. He has 100 HP. Not much else is known about these creatures, other than the mutated form is called a "Spooker". Photos are extremely rare, so we are yet to obtain any.

AK47:
It is possible to obtain the AK47 without getting a promotion. The AK47 is like a more powerful version of the M4A1.

UMP-45: This weapon is like the skeleton of the CDC arsenal, except the UMP is amazingly powerful. The UMP has a slower rate of fire than most weapons, but it's still an automatic weapon. It's pretty much the deagle if it were a spray n' pray weapon this weapon is actually complete garbage and is a direct downgrade to the M4A1. Never use this. Skeleton somewhat has an upside over the summoner, but this has nothing over any other weapon. Just... don't use it.

DRUNK ZOMBIE: He has a bottle that can break. When broken, it does more damage than the default knife. Drunk zombie can also puke at any time he wants. Like the Skeleton, we have no photos of this zombie. Although, we do know that he doesn't have a functioning liver.

MANIAC: This mysterious zombie can enter adrenaline rage which will make his head really hard to hit and disable his alt attack. Everyone who tried to take a photo of Maniac couldn't live to tell the tale, but we do know that his mutated form is called Lunatic.
