Introduction

Normally I would just uninstall a game like Forbidden Planet as soon as I encountered the lousy tutorial, but since I was bored and there was not yet a guide for this game, I thought I might give the next player a better chance at possibly enjoying the game. Honestly though, I am not sure a guide, no matter how good, can save this game!

In all fairness I won this game in a giveaway just for the cards, so it is not a loss, but I do enjoy the Tower Defense genre so I want to like this game. That is why I put the effort in to creating this guide. Once I had a clearer understanding of the game machanics and options I found the game to be tolerable. I hope this guide will increase your enjoyment also.

Without further ado, let's see if I can offer any help...

Extended Tutorial
Congratulations... you managed to make it through the fairly useless in-game tutorial. Do you have any idea what to do? If you are like me I was left with more questions than answers.

You are the small ship (A), and per the tutorial you need to have probes to colonize the nearby planet, but the tutorial did not clearly explain how you obtain a probe. Using WASD fly your ship to the planet area indicated by the blue arrows.

(NOTE: The next wave countdown - the red number - continues to decrease even while you are in the shop menu so make your selections quickly.)

Forget the fact that your tiny ship gets lost in the graphics and notice that the "action" button in the lower right has changed to a "$" sign (B). Click the action button to continue the in-game tutorial.

You will need at least 1 probe (C) and you may as well select a mine (D). You should also purchase your choice of planetary defense while you are here. A couple turrets (turrels?) are a good idea and are much cheaper than the "utilizator".

(NOTE: Your ship burns fuel even if you are not actively flying it around, even when in menus or stores, which is lousy behavior, but be aware of it.)

Presumming you bought a turret, fly your ship away from the store but staying within the planet's protection zone (the blue area). Press the action button (E) to open the menu.

(NOTE: You can place turrets anywhere so if you can overlap your home planet and a colonized world, that is a good strategy. Turrets are a cheaper way to protect planets than the other choices.)

Select the Turret option (F) to place a turret at the location of your ship. Again, the countdown until the next enemy wave, as well as your fuel, is continually decreasing so act as quickly as you can.

You now have a weapon deployed that will destroy some of the incoming asteroids. If you purchased 2 turrets repeat the process to deploy the second turret, optimally on the opposite side of the planet.

Next, zoom over to the orange planet (G) and select the action button (H) to deploy the probe and colonize the planet.

Once you control the planet, you can open the store menu to upgrade your defenses or resource gathering. It is probably worth adding the defense as asteroids "magically" target colonized planets first and the planet is destroyed fairly fast.

Additional Information
You can collect additional money (1) or fuel (2) while flying around. I am not sure why you would be flying around yet as I have not played any level other than the tutorial thus far. You can also buy more fuel from the fuel depot (3) for $500.

You can also destroy the large asteroid using a mine, which causes it to drop money or fuel. It costs $500 for a mine, so you can get $1000 money or $500 of fuel making it mostly a good deal. I have not yet found one that dropped nothing but I have played only 1 level.

The Ship Upgrade store (4) allows for a few enhancements, such as fuel usage reduction. For the tutorial level you will not have the resources to make use of these items.

Conclusion
Well I am impressed that you managed to read this far through the guide. I was not sure anyone would find this game worth it. Ha ha. I certainly appreciate your time. I hope that you at least found something of value in this guide.

I will gladly accept any feedback or suggestions for this guide, or any of the guides I have created. You can find them on my profile page. Thank you and have a great day!

LOL, I have special category for games I wrote guides on. Occasionally I go back and see how many people have read them. Silly me.

Thanks for the guide. Going to try the game out tomorrow. Got it on a good sale, but your guide seems pretty clear and helpful, I am sure it will help/
