Before you start, this guide is only a help for you. Don't use it if you want to catch all the fish your own way :)

You will find in this guide a help how you can unlock a fishing rods.

Why the tab "All Regions"?
Because the first four fish on all the fishing boards are the same. The two or three fish on the right are always the unique region-only types ;)

What is with the bait?
If you wanna catch a certain fish type, you should use the correct bait. So i included it in the guide

So and now have fun and don't forget ;)
Fishing Rods
Here’s a quick list of every fishing rod and how to unlock them

Basic Rod:
Found a fishing spot? There’s a basic fishing rod there.

How to Unlock:One is found at every marked fishing spot on the map.


Natural Rod:

How to Unlock: This slight upgrade can be purchased at any gun shop.


Wonderboy Rod:
The best fishing rod early on. Travel to Dylan’s Master Bait Shop in the Whitetail Mountains area and talk to Skylar. .

How to Unlock: Complete her quests to receive the Wonderboy


Old Betsy Rod:
Catch difficult fish at the Hard Fishing Spots found throughout Hope County.

How to Unlock: Beat every regional record to unlock this rod.


ATTENTION: To get the rod you have to beat every region leader!
All Regions
Before you begin fishing, I really recommend purchasing a Natural Rod from the gun store, or go straight to Dylan’s Master Bait Shop in the Whitetail Mountains to unlock the Wonderboy Rod.

just noticed this al give it a try wasn't aware you could upgrade your rods cant wait to give it a go but cant get of certain games at the minute like sons of the forest ready or not and FM23

oh i see... but somehow i always snapped my line when try to fish there :/
probably it's just me bad at fishing.. so i bailed out and accidentally find the easier one for me...
oh yea.. i use the natural rod btw~
