Is The Force Unleashed Canon? What happened to the Expanded Universe / Legends continuity after the Disney acquisition? Is Starkiller Canon? What about Thrawn, is he canon too?

Raff sat Matty down to ask some questions on Star Wars canon, as he's only really seen the films and a few games, whereas  Matt has been lapping up anything he can, like a big space cat. He's got the games, the comics and more Star Wars PC games than most.

What happened to all the Star Wars books, comics and video games canon like The Force Unleashed after Mickey Mouse paid the cheese? We just sat down and ran through this in one go over a cup of tea, so I can't guarantee what Matty says is 100% correct (I already know TIE Fighter came out in 1994)
