The Wanderer Review:
The Wanderer is a walking simulator with strategy turn based fights. The game looks pretty cool it has a nice atmosphere, the artwork looks great and has hand-painted elements. It has a good soundtrack with fits the post-apocalyptic scene.

But the gameplay left something to be desired. The walking simulator part has some complicated camera work which seemed a bit unnecessary and the camera panning was a bit slow. When you turn, look around and click the ground where you want to walk to the camera just pans right back. But perhaps that was the idea with a wandering walking simulator game.

As for the strategy part, I found the turn-based combat very uncomplicated perhaps too simple even, plus I had no idea when the turns we're up, or which of the characters still had moves or attacks left. When you rollover a character you see the hit points and other statistics. I used some specials but the main character never really got close to creates for it to have any big effect. The whole turn based fight just felt a bit simple and unfinished.

Not sure if I want to give this game a thumbs up or down, The Wanderer has a lot of potential and at the moment it is still in Early Access, so perhaps it is too early to judge. The art style looks cool and is intriguing, I'm going to go with neutral on this one and hope they update, revise and develop a bit more.

So please note this game is still in early access.
